That post uses "If it used human DNA as an evolutionary guideline..." or "If there was a lot of splicing" which I think is a science far beyond what any of the creators/storywriters even dreamed of. What Nick has done was simply merge the characteristics together and make their features even more random and selective as the series progressed (i.e. intelligence of mutants and bizarre habits [the squirrelanodis]); what the exact scientific mechanism is anybody's guess.

...But the point is that the DNA came from Hamato Yoshi (that we are assuming) and not another random human, and as small as the DNA might be, it makes the Turtles a "part" of Hamato Yoshi in some sense because the Turtles are using his DNA as a template/guideline/source. These Turtles are one degree of genetic separation from Hamato Yoshi, as is Karai, despite how much or little genetic content is there which could classify the Nick LeoXKarai as incest from a genetic family tree perspective.

Psychologically, I don't agree with their point because if that's the case, should we assume that if some long lost adopted sibling arrives back to his/her original home after he/she was abducted, and comes back after 15 years, that he/she is "romantically fair game" then? Since the adopted child and the new children did not psychologically develop together? Um... that's awkward... since Splinter considers both Karai and the Turtles as his children. Otherwise, why would the Turtles call Splinter "father" then?

I got a chuckle out of this:
Quote:
Putting aside that they’re mutants, Splinter never officially adopted them or went through the paperwork—though I suppose he’s got a receipt from the pet store.

...So, legally and on paper, they aren’t siblings.
Soooo Splinter was supposed to go to the government, and then file and sign paperwork for his mutant Turtles that humanity is terrified of? ...While he was a mutant rat himself huh? Pfft...

Wow this Nick show is certainly going to some strange depths as with the defense of the Turtles' depictions. You got Leo having an incest crush on Karai, Donnie behaving like a stalker toward April, Mikey eating a trash covered pizza and being a semi-cannibal in eating Pizza Face... did any of us have to try to convince ourselves (to this extent) that these things were all "normal" in other TMNT depictions? Ironically it seems that Nick Raph is the most well-adjusted, or "normal" Turtle here.

Or are they step brother and sister? Granted they don't have the same mom but

Looks like a great episode though
I've watched this trailer on US version of nick.com (Hola! rules ), and, well, I don't see there flirting (or maybe I'm so insensitive, who knows? ). I rather had the impression, that he tried to turn into joke the accusation he'd heard (well, for sure it's not the trifle to get into such place, but anyway, it took them some time to get to her cell, so Miwa's reaction was understandable).

Can't wait for this one too. Just two days left. Just two days left.

There was already posted some record of trailer, but I see that it is uploaded on tmntpedia too: http://turtlepedia.wikia.com/wiki/Ve...ne”_Clip (I've noticed it after all of this playing with Hola! )

As far as parents are concerned, that tumblr post is pretty much irrelevant. In their eyes, it will be seen as incest and/or immoral. Regardless of theories regarding DNA splicing, blood ties, stepchildren...

Nickelodeon have to keep parents happy - not some dude on tumblr. This is exactly why fan fiction was invented.

In regards to those trailers, I'm a bit disappointed that the one on Nick and the one on vimeo were identical. Usually we get a two different clips; even if they're from the same scene, it'll be from different moments within that sequence, maybe before and after something happens.

I'm hearing rumors that the next episode is called "Within the Woods."
I doubt it's true, but it seems like it'd be taking place at Northampton. I wonder if they're going to bring that into season 2 or 3 because after the Leo one-shot, the Turtles had to retreat to Northampton. I really hope we have a Leo vs. Shredder throwdown in the end of season 3 or the middle of season 4. As much as I prefer seeing Shredder take on the Turtles of a group to prove how strong he is, I would love to see Raph vs. Shredder like the 2014 movie.

"Within the Woods" is the title of the first episode of Season 3.

The Ultimate Visual History book. There's concept art in it that mentions that specific title as the first of Season 3.

Ah, upon rereading the thread, it looks like the art with the episode title was on a wall at the book launch rather than in the book itself. Don't have it myself yet, so I didn't really know.

That art looks like its for the IDW comic rather than the Nick cartoon.

Aside from their feet, it looks like Ross May's art from the IDW series.

I took that picture of that image myself. And yes it is located in the section of TMNT the ultimate visual history that does talk about the Nick Show.

Nice to see Leo actually does have passionate feelings about Karai.

Spoiler:
Nice to see Tiger Claw is going to be a threat this episode unlike how he was shown in "The Legend of the Kuro Kabuto" where he was nerfed. Seems like the Turtles still fear Tiger Claw.
Yay! This all makes me super excited! The drama, the action! Can't wait!

Thank you! I don't understand the point of using speculative science in regards to a show that delights in using the mutagen like magic. Additionally, there is such a thing as genetic sexual attraction that has been observed in cases where siblings did not grow up together and, without knowing they're related, become intimate.

With the Nick mutagen, anything is possible.
