That was done on purpose, and I think when people take that into account - which, admittedly, not many would think to without knowing to look for it, but still - it adds a new angle to the movie. I think people got way too hung up on how different it was from the cartoon. I'm so mad we never got that sequel. People forget, that was one of the first movies to have a well-known "stinger" at the end of the credits, teasing the sequel (which, sadly, never got to be). I still remember that going over huge in the theater when I was a kid.
Guilty as charged! I just found the inclusion of Monica from Friends and her derpy boyfriend to be rather superfluous - I want to see He-man and his gang, not these schmucks.

I also hate modern sitcoms like That 70's Show, How I Met Your Mother, all that sort of thing. Give me old stuff like Golden Girls, or give me death!

I hate King of the Hill and Family Guy and Modern Dad or whatever it's called.

Even worse... I hate The Simpsons. I know, I'll be burnt at the stake for saying that - I know I'm guilty of using Simpsons references purely because it's so ingrained in modern pop culture and I watched it growing up, but I just reached the point where it was no longer funny, and now I can't even enjoy the older seasons because of it.

I also detest Armageddon, despite the fact that it's generally considered to be one of Bay's better films. I found it trite, formulaic, and the idea of anyone shoving animal crackers down my panties just makes me itchy to think about it!
