Sounds as if it's going to be the exact same three releases, cases and all, put out in a box. I've already got the sets out, so I'll have to pass.

I don't see how you could have thought that the news was specific to the 4Kids series even at that point.

I'll just echo that if this was on blu-ray I would be buying it, cause I already own the first season on DVD. I've been holding out on Season 2, so I spose I'll continue to wait until it comes out in a complete collection.

Blu-ray or GTFO. I've bought all of them on Amazon over the past 2 years. Don't need DVDs.

I might double dip on this DVD set mostly for two reasons. This will save some shelf space and being OCD I like having more complete sets instead of numerous individual/volume sets and I could always pass the volume versions I already have to someone else and spread the awesomeness of this new series. Plus, I HATE digital media and I prefer to have physical books, comics, CDs, DVDs and blurays. I have seen the HD digital versions of the show and this is definitely a show that should be viewed in HD if possible. It's kind of baffling that Nick isn't releasing a bluray set especially since The Legend of Korra is getting bluray sets and TMNT are showing that they are very popular and have a fan base large enough to warrant a bluray release. The release of a complete season 1 set on DVD is the perfect time to also release one on bluray as well. Maybe they just don't want to put the extra effort of authoring a separate release since there is most likely not much effort being put into the season 1 set since it's most likely going to be a repackage of the already existing releases (other tv shows have done this too). How can we get the word to Nick to make bluray releases possible?

So it's the exact same DVDs...in the exact same cases...surrounded by cardboard.
Who was the guy I was talking to in the other thread that was absolutely sure a box set would take up less room?

And yes, I believe that was me I'm kinda glad they heard me and others like me. Never got the individual releases, so it looks like waiting it out was a good idea!

Not big on buying Blu Rays myself, as they usually are more expensive then DVD's. As long as can see the movie without interference, I really don't care if I can see the individual streak lines in the actors make-up job.

I'll definitively buy the season set.

I always try to get a Blu-Ray copy of something when I can, but in certain circumstances, that simply isn't possible, especially with old cartoons, so I just go with the DVD release for the time being.

However, I have noticed that some cartoons that are available on Amazon Instant Video or iTunes are in their original widescreen 16:9 aspect ratios, such as "The Batman" or "What's New Scooby-Doo?", which makes the buying decision a lot more frustrating since the DVDs are in letter boxed 4:3.

Since this is a fairly recent show, I expect a Blu-Ray release in the future at some point.

So if this is what I think it is then they couldn't even be assed to put the discs in a single DVD case, they're actually selling you all of the season 1 volumes with an additional box and a few extras that aren't on the discs. I suppose it could be more economical than buying each separately if you had not done so and the bonuses slightly sweeten the deal.

Meanwhile still no Blu-ray. Come on Viacom, you know those would sell.

I get that many people want their blu-ray, and I understand why, but, for me, instead of bitching about blu-ray, I'm going to stay happy with what I have.

I'd only want this for the bonus features. That aside, I don't get what the big deal is with Blu-ray anyway. As long as I can understand what I'm seeing on screen, I have no complaints.

Then again...it'll probably take me a long time before I can get into Blu-ray or jump on the Blu-ray bandwagon. It took me years before I was accepting of DVDs and was fine with VHS tapes.

Any major movie/TV release these days has a Blu-ray option. I refuse to give them a penny until I can watch my Turtles in high def.

Until that happens, I'm just going to put pirated episodes on a USB drive and watch them on my PS3.

I hope the new movie gets released on Blu-Ray, with Nick having a hard on for DVD I would not be surprised if the movie did not come out on Blu-Ray. I also would not be surprised if they cropped the show 4:3.

They should get rid of their HD channel and make all their shows from here on out SD only, they seem to love SD content. No point in making HD Content if your not going to release it right?

Seeing as how I already have Season 1 in 3 volumes, there isn't really a need to buy this one. I'd like it if the rest of season 2 would be released around that time instead. Wormquake, Wrath of Tiger Claw, and Vengeance is Mine are some of my favorite episodes from the 2nd half or season 2.

It's a theatrical movie. Of course it's going to be released on Blu-ray.
