That's great! I'd never think an episode would be nominated.

My work actually has fans, I've even had fan art based on my stories, so I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish with wanting me to hide my sigs.

I'm proud of my work, I've spent several years working on my projects and they've helped me cope with recovery from a mental illness that almost drove me to suicide in 2010. There is nothing in that which says "sour grapes", just "I have grown as a writer and as a person and I am very self-confident". I'm not going to stop pimping myself just because I slammed a show you enjoy, and if people want to criticize...that's the whole point of writing, to generate divisive opinion. I have a comics writer for a friend and I cannot stand his work on a certain title, but we're still tight despite that. No doubt the people behind this show know full well not everyone will like their output and they're probably not too fussed either given so many more people than the vocal minority enjoy it, just as my writer friend is not fussed if his work proves divisive (even with me), and just as I'm not fussed if you don't like my work because I know plenty of others enjoy it.

To those I annoyed, please don't take it the wrong way, if you like the show, all the more power to you. I know I am in a (glorious) minority. Congratulations to the rest of you for having something to celebrate. It's just not my cup of tea.

Powder, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if Zarius wants to give his, he's allowed to do it. You may not agree with him, but that's fine. I don't either. He knows I like the show and despite the fact that he hates it, he's still kind enough to read my stories based on the Nick universe, and it means a lot to me that he can shove aside his bias to review my work. Nothing wrong with that at all. I get so sick of people acting like a negative opinion has no weight and shouldn't be expressed when this forum should be about all opinions. This is why I don't go to the movie thread anymore.

As for the show getting nominated, that's cool though I don't really watch award shows anymore.

Ok. You've made that clear in a number of threads.

Why bother posting in the section if you only want to say 'Ugh this sucks. Ugh. I hate it.' Just don't talk about it if you hate it so much. It ain't that hard.

Quite right. It's hilarious how, last I checked, the movie thread is 90% negativity and there have been instances where those with a positive outlook have been accused of being corporate plants and trolls...and in the Nick forum you're not allowed to say the slightest thing negative about the show or point out it's irritable adolescense and weak narrative structure and poor characterisations. Why is it one way for one thing (oh right, because Bay hate is the current fashion statement), and one way for another? Why must people conform to a pack mentality just to fit in on here? People should be allowed to have independent thought and not feel "intimidated" by the Neo-Nick fans (I use quote marks because the thought of these people being capable of intimidation is just sad, maybe I should rephrase that to "amused", complete with the quote marks because the thought of these people being capable of amusement is equally just as sad)

I have'nt even read Powder's post, but I don't really give a toss. He and his kind exist only to instigate on this forum.

Thanks Bubbly. I don't go out of my way to say the Nick 'toon is awful out of spite, there are things I do like about it, and if I did'nt 100% beleive that it could be better than it currently is, I would'nt give people who capatalise on strengthening it's potential the time of day, I do so because they're very gifted, as you are, and because they see strengths and oppertunities I wish the show's writers would capatalise on.

Like I said, I'm happy for those who are happy for the show, it's not to my liking, I don't think the emmys are worth anything, but it's another thing to boast about regarding this franchise (and let's be honest, no way is the movie getting an Oscar)

On a final note....JTH, this good enough for you buddy? (you'll get the joke)

Congrats to the writers for the episode being nominated, while it's not one of my favorites that's cool.

Kind of wish they'd have waited for Vengance is Mine to get Nominated instead cuz I felt that one was perfect combination of every thing but that's me, maybe for next year.

Probably, the only reason Manhattan Project was the only TMNT episode that was nominated for an Emmy is because it's the only episode so far that actually aired on Prime Time (outside of Showdown from last year).
Also, ZariusTwo, please, kindly, f*ck off. You've said that you didn't like the series. Good, fine. But do you have to force it down our throats? You don't have to be like turtlefanforever before he came to his senses. There's sharing your opinion, and then there's taking your opinion and forcing it in everyone's face.
Also, not once have I heard you say anything to back your opinion up. WHAT do you hate about this show? HOW would you fix it? Yes, there are some trip-ups in this series, but you can't judge the show by those trip-ups.
Anyway, that's just my little vent, I could go on longer, but I'd rather not.

Hey, with respect, please drop it.

Me and ZT are chatting and clearing the air about it as I'm posting this right now.

Am I "Allowed" to say that I found the specific episode a little mediocre, a bit over-hyped, and a surprising one to get an Emmy nod? Can't think of any off the top of my head, but having just seen this one again the other day, I swear I've seen better ones from this series. It's not "Bad" by itself, I'unno.

Really does seem like it only got any attention because of the gimmick with the OT Turtles. That was my gut reaction, frankly. Just callin' it as I see it.

I agree to an extent, I think the 80s Turtles did help as it brought in some people that hadn't been familiar with the new show.

But personally, I think a newbie "could" see it much more compelling than a causal, because most causals know that the Kraang aren't a true threat, and knew that Karai was already Splinter's daughter; where as a newbie would be shocked by these turn of events.

I think anyone who saw the episode as a stand-alone, probably thinks more of it because they may not know all the little gritty details of the show, and just took in all the action and drama which that was very good.

If they irk me to a specific extent it can really make or break the enjoyment of a show, and the trip-ups the show has are great enough to prevent me from thinking it's "all that". Because of these, it is'nt a patch on the 4Kids series, which had the correct balance of weird and sophistication, and even when it was dumbed down it felt like it took itself far more seriously than this

The Nick show's popularity with fans baffles me blind. It really does. Especially given the venom spewed in the Bay movie's direction, which I feel is actually more more in line with how I best view the franchise, it reminds me a bit of 4Kids, but is made a target for ire specificly because of the Bay association.

I feel the fans have become more and more juvenile to match the juvenile attitude of the Nick show. Not a healthy mentality. Some of you are capable of rising above it, but some of you just want to live the tone almost.

I don't shove my opinion in people's faces, as I barely post in this section when the show is on, I leave you to your enjoyment most of the time. If anything, it's the Neo-Nick fans insistence that nobody criticize this show that is constantly shoved down everyone's throats.

The Bay association I feel is warranted. Michael Bay has lost the benefit of the doubt based on his "reimagining's" of franchises. (Transformers, Nightmare on Elm St., ect.)

The "aliens" thing was a killer for me, now despite the scrapping of the idea, all the rest of the original concept Bay came up with is still there, which scares me to death. Plus if I went to see the movie now after hating the "aliens" idea, it would be a complete contradiction on my part if I was to line his pocket with cash now.

I agree that peeps should be allowed to share their opinions. Even if it is criticizing instead of praising the show. All writers who want to grow need to understand and accept criticisms.

Peeps also need to remember that the nick TMNT has been nominated for best animation program and not nominated for the writing quality. The animation quality is the only thing being judged at the Emmys.

I am not surprised that the nick TMNT show has been nominated for its animation 'cause it is superb.

No problem, Zar, and I get it, too. I think we should all be allowed to share our opinions no matter what it is and I hate the mentality that if someone truly dislikes something, they can't share that opinion unless it's an opinion that's praising the show. Just so juvenile, and I feel that we're better than that as a forum. Or at least, we should be.

And I also agree that "Vengeance is Mine" should have been nominated rather than "The Manhattan Project" as well. It was so awesome and epic, but I agree that the 80's Turtles cameo probably is what did it.

You're new here, so you're clearly not aware that we have numerous members who ONLY post "This show sucks" & nothing more. There's no need to become a broken record, especially when it's just bringing more negativity.

I have no problem with people criticizing anything, it's not like I've only ever had good things to say.

As for Bubbly, well, that's just jammin' & jolly that he reads your fan-fics. Good to know people only defend others' negative behavior because of a bias.

(Just gotta say, Vengeance is Mine and Wrath of Tiger Claw deserve better than this episode... now on with the post)
Granted, Kraang Conspiracy and Pizza Face were pretty abysmal, but Garbageman and Golden Puck were pretty great of failures, as well. I will admit that this show does sometimes have problems, such as the beginnings of each season, which normally pump out mediocore to fine episodes. It's the episodes that come after that that make this show worth watching. I recommend you watch more episodes you missed, because when I don't like a show that I know many people like, I attempt to watch near every episode I can find until I see what everybody's talking about. If this show was nominated for a Daytime Emmy AND an Emmy, they must be doing something right. I'll just leave off with one question: have you seen any great to amazing episodes of the series?

Then again, if the series itself wasn't Daytime Emmy nominated this year (2014), they must be doing something... Well, I think some of us (some a little more vocally than others ) have commented how this second season has taken a different direction, and not in the best ways.

I would like to mention that TMNT is only nominated for its animation quality and not its writing quality. The writing is decent. The writing quality still has flaws, it is not or near perfection.
