Yep, and my sis was at it again with the drama accusing my dad of causing the bleed to her brain by hitting her with an envelope of all things. Come on! Dad won't let her have the house now, and I can't say I blame him. She's just so manipulative.

Ah Bubbly, remind me to swap psycho-sister stories with you some day (the one I don't talk to/really acknowledge as existing, not the awesome kid sister)!

Those lethal envelopes... Yeah, sometimes sisters can be a blessing and sometimes.... SOMETIMES! My youngest sister has been the latter. Of the countless things she has stolen from us the most infuriating would be our car (which we never were able to get back) and my $3,000 wedding and engagement ring set that she pawned for $100 and I also never got back. She financially ruined my parents and my husband and I moved in with them to take care of them and pay a lot of their bills. She is due out of prison soon and I really hope that she has changed as much as she appears...

Boy, sisters...

People that bug you repeatedly. I roleplayed a little with some person yesterday and as soon as they see me on the online list they're jumping my bulge saying "HEY WANNA CONTINUE???" I told them to buzz off, and if I wanted to continue I'd log into the chat and tell them so. But this person didn't know how to NOT talk to somebody, so they just kept spamming my inbox with stuff like "I REALLY LIKE YOUR WRITING STYLE" or "I CAN'T WANT TO CONTINUE"

Bitch, we've roleplayed for a single day, get out of my pants, you're not invited. Also your roleplaying was terrible.

Dude, your sister and my (bad) sister definitely have a lot in common. Speaks volumes that you're actually willing to give yours a chance if she's changed (ie, you're a much nicer person than I am) - I can't imagine ever speaking to my nemesister again, no matter what.

That sounds... awkward. On the plus side, at least you're confident enough to tell people to get lost when they're stepping on your nuts!

When you've roleplayed in the furry community for 7+ years, you have to learn to tell people to bugger off if they're making you uneasy. That's just how it is. A bunch of them will start creeping on you and being real whackjobs if you don't stop them quickly.

Penny, that's no problem. I guess we have a lot in common. And I love the term nemesister. Definitely sums up my relationship with mine. I'm not willing to give mine a chance anymore. She blew it.

I wish you and Penny good luck with managing your sisters, Bubbly. You know what else gets to me, when people assume you're a "hipster" just because you wear glasses or have certain tastes.

*sigh* I know what you mean. It would be nice if there was a sub-forum or even just a thread for rpg's. I've been a long-time gamer myself, and don't find many others here.

After years of limiting myself to d20 games, I fell in love with how elegant and awesome the gameplay can be in a non-d20 game. The World of Darkness games are compatible with each other too, even more so with the reboot (ie: Vampire the Requiem and Werewolf the Forsaken) so you can have a mix of monsters in your party. Short learning curve and the best the horror game genre has to offer. Highly recommended.

I dunno. I played it a bit, but I disliked some aspects of the White Wolf games- namely the amount of friggin d10's you need at later levels for certain mechanics, like blood points, damage, etc. Give me a single d20 over a dozen d10's any day. But I DO like the setting and the character types in White Wolf. Just wish the mechanics were a little simpler- meaning fewer dice used.

Just needed to get that out of my system. Can't let that ruin my day.

I hear you, headbands. Mine is the same way. He barely acknowledges my birthday, never mentions my anniversary (he dislikes my husband intensely, and the feeling is mutual on my hubby's part), and only talks to me when he feels "obligated" to. The rest of the time, he basically forgets I exist. Granted, I've been out of the house for YEARS, but even growing up, he largely ignored me unless he needed something- which of course I was a convenient "servant" for. He ridiculed most of my interests and hobbies growing up, and still does. And there were...other issues, too. He's on the very SHORT list of people I'd not miss if they fell of the planet, but I still have to deal with him on occasion.

I can imagine. Kinda curious to hear who your creepiest creeper so far has been...

"Nemesister" is hereby being inducted into the forum dictionary, for use in all conversations pertaining to pernicious biological relations.

A dude that's managed to track me down wherever I go and solicit me for erotic roleplay [and trying to edge towards a kink that I had stated repeatedly I found disgusting] wherein he only wants me to play as a female character, not a male. When I was in High School, he started doing this because I expressed an interest in playing a female OC I had, but not erotically, and ever since he's tried getting it out of me.

He's the reason I don't list my IM names in my forum profile. Don't want him googling and finding me and IMing me again. I've had to change IM names 7 or 8 times to get away from this guy, but he doesn't take the hint.

Nemesister would be an awesome name for a female-fronted metal band.

Oh Net, that blows. If there's one thing I dislike about the internet, it's the way it's made it difficult to escape from people that you want no contact with.

Incidentally, you've reminded me of another gear grind - the fact that so many creeps lurk in the BDSM scene. You know the type I mean - creepy, disrespectful "daddy doms" who have no business being in the scene at all, who spread misinformation and deliberately seek out inexperienced subs who don't know better. Scummy self-described "doms" who completely disregard their subs' limits, or even worse, the type who insist that a "good sub" has no limits at all. Yech.

Oh, and honorable mention gear grinds go to anyone who disrespects/ignores their partners' and thirds' limits and boundaries when they're having multi-partner play. That really boils my p*ss.

Or doms that claim that you can only be a "true sub" if you're willing to do absolutely everything. In fact, the use of the term "true sub" is a red flag in and of itself.

Eurgh, totally. Those types of wannabes need to have the testicles kicked right off their bodies. Or breasticles, for the creepy lady-dommes out there.

My gear grind: The weather and how the meteorologists can't get it right. We weren't supposed to have any rain last night and yet we did. Then we had rain this morning even though we weren't supposed to. I swear, these guys do NOT have a CLUE what is going on. So annoying.

My gear grind is how my black jeans seem to be an absolute magnet for fluff. I spend five minutes going over the darn things with a lint brush every time I want to wear them.

First world problems...

My gear grind for today & yesterday is that my husband has a job promotion/opportunity where he would make about double what he's making now but would have a 1 1/2 hour commute each way (which I used to do everyday and know how lame that can be) and he totally deserves it but I worry that if he gets it he will be stressed about working all the time and missing out on being with his family. I want him to get it, since he wants it, but I want him to be happy overall. It's been weighing heavy on me... but I don't want him to feel stressed about the decision either so I keep telling him I support him either way he goes.

That's the best thing you can do, Dawn. Just be there for him and let him know that you support him no matter what.

That sucks, Dawn - long commutes are awful (sometimes it takes me two hours to get home), but it would be hard to turn down the money. Bubbly's right though, sounds like you're doing the best you can do.
