Do you realize what April is now? She's almost nothing but a Deus Ex Machina-powered superheroine, and you want her powered up more?! Unbelievable. For once, I'm on Ciro's side here; there is a tendency to make females too powerful, which should be avoided at all costs. April can already fight; not on the level of the Turtles or maybe even Casey, but pretty well for someone of her status. She's already powerful in some ways. What we need with her is character development that makes sense, and that doesn't see character development as being only getting tougher.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but just thought of something to add, although it may have already been mentioned. Since they did the whole Kraang-April thing, I think having her react more to that revelation would do/would've done wonders for her character. I'm surprised this hasn't been done.

I may be compartmentalizing, but possibly April's gone through so much shock in so short of a time that she is now hard to traumatize. She did have quite a breakdown when her father mutated.

The main thing I'd like to see is more of April's home life. I think that'd go a long way towards fleshing her out. I wouldn't mind seeing Casey's family either.

This. We could see plainly that she was shocked when you see her facial expression. And it hadn't been brought up because learning that she's supposedly a mutant has got to be a lot for her to sort out.

Imagine what things would be like if you group up among humans, and have believed your whole life you were human. The only difference is you had these inexplicable powers no one can explain. Then one day you learn the reason you have these powers is because you aren't actually human, you are actually a human/alien crossbreed and the reason the aliens want you is because your DNA is used to stabilize part of their evil evil plan to seize control of the earth.

That would be too much for any person to deal with and even more so to accept.

Maybe "fix" is a strong word. Maybe, "improve" would work better here. Thinking about it, most of the things suggested in this thread were about ways to add onto her character, or more dimensions to it. I still wonder what goes on in her head with the Kraang revelation and still a bit surprised the show hasn't gone back to it, other than her resistance to mutagen.

Hm, I now wonder if the Kraang are hit with mutagen, if they're resistant too..

How to fix her. I'd just like her to have some time with the other Turtles besides Donnie. I'd like her to get teamed up one day with Raph since the two seem to not really like eachother right now, and they can grow past that.

I wouldn't fix this April. Actually, I'd kill her off. Nothing replaces the original yellow jumpsuit April. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No, nothing!

Have her sent to a different dimension for half of a season. The dimension she ends up in has a faster timeline and when she returns home she is a little older and has become a better fighter. She can now challenge Karai as a fighter and is much more mature so she chooses to date Donnie and close the door on Casey.
