spider-man (the other show)

I think smurfs is likely... what do you guys think? They can play off the whole Smurfette = April/Karai thing really easily.
The first thing that popped into mind for me was the Smurfs. That's total nostalgia there. My first cartoon. lol Started watching it in 1982 and, to this day, I still love it.

Someone else mentioned Thundarr the Barbarian, which would be nice to spoof, given the Dimension X stuff.

I bet Mikey will be regressed as soon as he rejoins the cast. No way is Mikey not going back to his silly and funny self for the rest of the series.

He may regress or he may mature more. That's not to say he won't be goofy or anything because I'm sure he will, but he'll mature when he needs to, and I have a feeling the Leo attack will mature him, too.

Mikey wearing a dead Kraang on his head looks pretty grusome.
Your definition of a kid show in today's generation is very naive...

Death on a kid's show is not as taboo as it was back in the early 80's when it was discussed on Sesame Street (Big Bird learning that Mr. Hooper died).

This was an obvious reference to Predator and if anyone on here was a big as a horror not a Ciro, you be pretty damned surprised at all the references to really gruesome horror movies that they were able to get away with.

Let see... Alien, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Toxic Avenger, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Howling, The Orphan, Re-Animantor, The Thing, The Fly (1950's), City of the Living Dead and The Incredible Melting Man.

Hell some of the voice actors: Jeffery Combs,Cassandra Peterson, Danny Trejo, Robert Enguland and John Kassier were in horror movies....

What I am trying to say is that the show plays more off on the horror genre. This is nothing and if it anything probably happens off screen.

If we had a 16 teenager crying in pain (due to the mutagen burning him) for help in season one, I am sure we will be fine with Michelangelo weaing a dead Krang on his head.

Can't be Thundarr the Barbarian. Thundarr came out in 1980 not 1982. I'm betting it's probably Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, considering they first watched a spoof on Filmation's Star Trek and then an Anime on Voltron it would seem very out of place if they watched a show spoofing The Smurfs.

no doubt....but if they can keep him mature when situations call for it...then that will be all he needs really. We all want him to be the fun silly ninja....just the fun silly ninja that knows when to kickbutt and be serious.

I think Mikey's gonna be more like 2003 series. He was still the goofball, but he wasn't stupid. Like, the whole "Alien invasion isn't that bad." joke was kind of funny and not that stupid, so I feel Mikey's gonna be a lot more matured.

I'm not shocked about the gruesome stuff the references and everything else they can get away in a kids show because, I like that sort of thing.

I'm more shocked that it's Mikey (the fun loving turtle), who gets stranded in Dimension X for months and has to fend for himself and survive by killing things and eating them and the wear them on his head. If it happened to Raph or Leo I wouldn't be so shocked about it.

I hope we get some sort of flashback on Mikey's experiance in Dimension X, that would be wicked.

The Smurfs cartoon started in '81. I thought Thundarr the Barbarian was '81 too.

Am I really the only one not surprised by this revelation, given as how, imo, it's been shown that he does have survival skills and that Mikey probably does have a dark side?

On an unrelated note, there's one thing that makes no sense about the finale. Shredder beats up Leonardo2 for what he did to Karai, even though it was Shredder's own damn fault for what happened to her. What Sense Does This make?

Shredder + Personal Responsibility doesn't mix, apparently. He blames Splinter for what happened to Tang Shen even though he was the one who killed her.

Well, he probably won't be beating Leo for Karai: Keep in mind, Shredder absolutely HATES each of the Turtles equally, and not to mention that this version of Shredder is VERY unhinged (Hence why he thought it was Splinter's fault for Karai's mutation.). I don't think Shredder's going after Leo for what happened with Karai, but just because he sees Leo alone and is gonna take advantage of that.

Yeah. Harming one of Yoshi's sons will definitely cause Splinter pain. I feel that will be his train of thinking.

True. There really is no low he won't stoop to in order to defeat Master Splinter. Which I like.

I hope that we get to see more Turtles vs. Shredder confrontations. I like the whole rivalry between him and Yoshi, but I would love to see him start to detest the Turtles themselves.

That's what I love about this version of Shredder.

I'm still waiting for that thing that will make this version of Shredder a fully developed villain.

So true.

I used to think Leonardo decapitating Shredder in 2K3 was crazy but now we have things like a double murder-suicide scene in The Legend of Korra and you kind of get less shocked as time goes!

Still an awesome scene though.

If they give us more episodes like Vengeance is Mine and The Legend of the Kuro Kabuto he'll be very well developed.

Not to mention they didn't even kill Shredder. And I wish they hadn't killed Amon... he was such a great villain.

It was very ballsy on their part. I can't believe Nickelodeon passed that scene by....maybe that's why Korra was pulled off the air! Lol

DON'T YOU DARE JOKE ABOUT KORRA BEING OFF THE AIR, IT IS TAKING IT'S TOLL ON ME. D:
XD But all joking aside, Korra got pulled because it wasn't getting enough viewers, hence Nick's dumbass marketing strategy.
