Nintendo got to the videos, which pretty much confirms them as legit without doubt. I'm amazed there were still people who weren't buying it.

I was on the fence with that initial select screen image but the evidence is now overwhelming.

Doesn't stop me from being angry with the "it's real" camp right now though. So many of them are now unnecessarily violent in now that their choice is justified.

BUT, this leaker also claims that all the characters aren't unlocked, because All-Star mode is still inaccessible, so there's still hope for characters people want. However, the first mention of Bowser Jr in the Koopa Clown Car and Duck Hunt Dog also says Lucas, Wolf, Ice Climbers and Snake are all cut. Lucas was my most-played in Brawl by a mile, but if he's gone I'm OK with it. Ice Climbers were unique, so that's a bummer, but Wolf and Snake I couldn't care less about.

I'm satisfied with the roster as-is, but if one of the potential remaining characters is a Rhythm Heaven rep it'll be the absolute perfect roster. Aside from the stain of Dark Pit, but whatever.

Dixie Kong, Ridley, Mewtwo and Chorus Men were all part of the very first leak that included Dark Pit, Dr Mario, DHD, Bowser Jr and Shulk.

For the record, I like Metal Gear, but am not too bothered if Snake is cut. He's not a perfect fit for Smash like PacMan, Sonic and Megaman are. But I'm a huge Star Fox fan, and Wolf's cut really grates me. I just hope he's brought back as DLC.

I am baffled at the decision to bring back Dr. Mario over Mewtwo from Melee. Further baffled by Wolf and Lucas being cut only to bring in terrible clones.

Sakurai's roster choices are nonsensical. At least that leak also mentioned characters like Ridley, Dixie, Chorus Men, etc. also listed Bowser Jr in the clown car and the two terrible clones so we might get more coming.

Ice Climbers being cut hurts. Such fun characters and I don't know why Sakurai couldn't rework them or just have them in the Wii U version.

Also Ganondorf is still a clone 3 games in a row. So sad.

Sakurai really needs to step down from Smash. I wonder why he has such bizarre indifference to the Zelda series. No newcomers since 2001, Ganondorf is still a clone and Toon Link as well.

I really hope that leak saying Ridley, Mewtwo, Dixie, Chorus Men are in the game is true. Also the DLC leak of Wolf, Lucas, Snake and Ice Climbers.

Except Wolf isn't a clone. Nearly all of his moves are unique (all his normals are, and his b-moves all have unique properties). Final Smash isn't even technically a move, it's an item.

And funnily enough, he's the most popular of the Star Fox characters in the fighting game community.

The DLC leak has been confirmed fake, unfortunately. But that doesn't mean that there won't be DLC.

The leak has many sources, all of which say that it isn't the final roster (All-Star mode is still locked). So Mewtwo, Dixie and Ridley will most likely be playable. There's a great deal of discussion as to whether Impa, Mach Rider and/or Chorus Men make up the remaining characters.

Zelda did get 4 newcomers in Melee, and there's a good chance that Impa will be in this game. So I wouldn't say he was biased against Zelda. He's certainly biased for Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus though (and formerly Kirby).

I like this roster, especially if the Dixie part is true. It just needs some of the cuts to come back as DLC.

The roster is bias. Why on earth is Dark Pit there? A garbage character that could have been anyone else? And yet Wolf and Lucas gets cut for an F tier character?

Mewtwo not returning especially over Dr. Mario is even more idiotic.

I never understood this train of logic of him being "biased toward Kirby". It took until the third game before we had more than just Kirby playable, and it's the game other than Smash that Sakurai's most known for. I would say that adding Dedede and Meta-Knight was entirely justified.

Also you guys know Sakurai is not the only one making roster decisions, right? He just has the final say. He's constantly talking about his team brainstorms who to add to the roster.

I wouldn't say it's a case of Wolf or Lucas being cut for Dark Pit. Wolf and Lucas are both unique characters, that would take the normal amount of dev time for a character.

Dark Pit is a clone, meaning they've literally taken Pit, changed his VA, given him unique art and changed around some of his stats (speed, strength etc) and called it a day.

For example when he was making Melee, he had enough dev time to add either 6 clones, or 1 unique character (which was to be King Dedede), and he opted for the clones. So a clone takes about 1/6th of the amount of work as a unique character if we go by that.

Many people felt adding two Kirby newcomers in Brawl was bias showing. Especially as many didn't know who Meta Knight was before he was revealed.

What's wrong here is that Kid Icarus, Kirby and Fire Emblem all have 3-4 characters.

Meanwhile Metroid only has 2 and they're both Samus, and Donkey Kong only has 2. Why is Sakurai showing such blatant bias to his three favorite franchises over DK, Metroid and Zelda?

I wish Miyamoto chose the roster, you would not see such bias then.

Just curious, folks, what was everyone's top three wanted characters that weren't in Brawl, from before any of the roster was revealed at all?

I had Pac-Man, Little Mac, and anybody that skipped Brawl but was in Melee.

I wanted an Animal Crossing rep and my outside hope was Mega Man, both of which I got in the first reveal trailer. I'm as happy as sh*t with this roster. If I get some decent Rhythm Heaven representation (A stage, AT, or actual playable rep,) I will have gotten everything I wanted.

what was everyone's top three wanted characters that weren't in Brawl

1) I was hoping Toon Zelda/Tetra would be a character, but I know that's a long shot; besides, Zelda has plenty of characters in the Smash games.

2) I was also hoping Mewtwo would be in this game, but with Greninja's inclusion I'm not sure that's realistic anymore.

3) Little Mac. Looks like I got my wish there.

And for what it's worth (nothing) I've never liked Wolf either.
