Nope, IDW has stated they want nothing to do with it.

I don't think so. There has been no plans.

Waiting for TIT () to come out is exhausting. I was really looking forward to it.

Before I start please note I was never into comic collecting as a kid, however I did read them when I was able to afford them.

As of lately doing research and trying to play catch up on the turtle comics, it to me seems that the IDW comics are not very well liked and overall people seem to be pretty pissed at them.

Is this true or is it because Nickelodeon just has them by the artistic balls and not really allowing them to expand into other genres with the story?

I don't think that is true, I love the IDW Turtles! This is hands down my favorite version of them. Sure there are things I would like to be a little different but overall I am very pleased with the story.

They're become my favorite universe of TMNT and I've been a fan since elementary school, so... no? Maybe it's just the echo chamber but reading comments on recent previews it sounds like the series has been getting some buzz recently, and if so it's about time. Example: Here's an article from earlier this month about how badass it is written by a new reader. I've been doing write-ups where I go over the story-arcs too; see my sig. The IDW series is great; it's my one guaranteed comic read every month.

I'm not even sure what you mean about it not being able to expand into other genres, right now the story is evolving like mad as it builds to #50, and it already involves mutant/human warfare, reincarnation, time travel, organized crime, sentient robots, the Cthulhu mythos, Japanese mythology and the Pied Piper. Oh, and in a few more months, the Ghostbusters. About the only real obvious thing they've missed so far is space travel, and it's probably coming up.

OP says #38 and TiT #4 both come out on September 3. ...Then we have to wait until almost Halloween for anything else.

Doesn't the Krang War arc count?

Kinda-sorta. They hopped dimensions to an alien world. We haven't had the turtles actually tooling around in outer space yet though. Maybe Turtles In Space will be the follow-up to Turtles In Time. :p

I guess it was just the reviews I read.

Besides trying to hunt them down on ebay and paying out the ass for singles, are there decent places to get them at?

The main series and mini series have been collected in TPBs, and at any point the newest of those are usually only an arc or two behind the ongoing. There's supposed to be an omnibus coming out that includes #1-12 and #1-5 of the one-shots, but if it's not coming out in October like it was listed before then goddess knows when we'll see it.

The Nick show folks seem to have a similar attitude about the style/content of the movie, right?

Really makes me appreciate each team even more than I already did, somehow.
