This season does have a lot of the same writers as other terrible Nick Shows so it's not that surprising...

This episode was simply ok .

... Just because something has tons of awards, prizes and whatever doesn't mean that everybody has to like it. Just as something that is widely seen as rather badly written can have its fair share of fans.
And to be honest, I loved Avatar: The Last Airbender, but I just can't get into Korra. I've watched the first season and it just didn't appeal to me. (Mainly because of Korra herself, I just don't like hotheads in general, plus she's arrogant, cocky, violent... And don't get me started on hitting on and kissing a guy who was still in a relationship...) I don't even know if I'll ever watch the second season.

But to get back to the episode...
Upon reading the description for the first time my expectations were as low as can be. I really felt that the timing was off. They have an alien invasion to stop, retromutagen to make, some kind of mecha to build... But Donnie still has time to be jealous? Wow, priorities...

Well, those were my thoughts back then, but after watching this episode it wasn't as bad as I expected.

They did reference the last episode, they actually are searching for Karai, so I'll give them credit for that. Would have been really weird if they didn't after such a dramatic and tragic episode. I would have prefered a whole episode dealing with the aftermath of her mutation, but oh well. Better than nothing.

So yeah, as I said I don't really care about Donnie's and Casey's issues, as long as they keep it to a minimum and get along in the end I can deal with it. And it's not like the jealousy stuff dominated the whole episode as the description made it sound like.

Also, I'm not sure what to think about the whole magic and ghost stuff, I mean aliens, mutants and such are a different kind of supernatural than ghosts and magic for me. Hm, somewhat torn on that. It's cool, but I'm not sure if it mixes in well...

On a more positive note, I really like what they do with Mikey's character in the recent episodes. They really highlight his understanding of emotions and he was pretty serious for his standard but still retained his humor, like when he listed unusual places where snakes could hide.
Please, keep it up like that!

The foreshadowing with Irma was well done, I'm really curious what her powers might be. It can't be too long until she finally meets the turtles.

I kinda like silly villains, as long as they are not the main ones, so Ho Chen was definetely a character I enjoyed. I don't think he will return, but I wouldn't mind if he did.

The fight scenes were also pretty awesome, especially the one in the tornado. And April is getting better and better, I really enjoy watching her fight the bad guys on her own.
And for once, April was actually selfless, like when she told Donnie and Casey to run away because Ho Chen was too powerful. I'm not a big fan of her, but that scene made me kinda like her a bit more.

So yeah, all in all a rather meh and forgettable filler overall, but nonetheless with a few interesting scenes in between.
5.5 out of 10.

But now that this episode is over, we can finally get to the good stuff. I can't wait for the last three episodes, I'm counting the days, haha.
I'm super excited to see Mikey on his own and Leo getting oneshotted.

I think this episode was meh. Donnie and Casey arguing just really grated my nerves. Casey's too clingy to April, at least Donnie gives her her space. Irma was so freaking close to seeing the guys! I feel like pulling out my hair and screaming. XD I really wish she'd just meet them already. I know I have to be patient, it just frustrates me how close she was. Also I really loved how bad ass April was in this episode. Guess she's mastered jumping rooftops.

Oh, and is it just me or did the "dragon" on Ho Chan's robe kinda look like a Kraang?

Great episode, not only is this a non-foot/mutant/krang enemy but it is supernatural. I love the Big Trouble in Little China stuff they slipped in.

I am really curious about what power he sensed from Irma that he didn't understand.

ugh.....I knew I wouldn't like this episode.....Donnie and Casey pinning over April was VERY VERY annoying.

I was not amused by the pizza distraction......

though Irma having something in her peeks my interests....(though I still kinda hope she's a normal girl)

Casey was so bad this episode.....this whole love triangle is making him look bad...(same with Donnie)

would it kill the writers to pair April up with people who DON'T have a CRUSH on her?????

Am I the only one who didn't think they were trying to say she actually has powers? I interpreted his comments to mean "Oh, well, you must be special too, otherwise these guys wouldn't have brought you here..." as she was an unexpected guest. Or, it was a gag about how he "complimented" one & not the other. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I took it.

Totally agree. I groaned at the Irma part, but everything else was great.

I thought it was a big throw off to have Donnie and Casey give April full credit for saving the day. Yes she made the defeating blow, but Donnie and Casey had equal credit for defeating Ho Chen. So I feel it would have been better to say that the three of them had saved the day together indicating that while the two boys are rivals, they can also effectively function as a team.

But that wouldn't do them any favors in their quest for the heart of April. I think they were just trying to butter her up. Girls are weird and like it when boys are nice to them. LOL.

I actually put in my initial post in this thread that I'm curious about that line myself. I'm not sure if he meant that she actually had powers or if it was just some throwaway line that I didn't really "get". If they mutated her I think that would be super lame or even if the Kraang wanted her I also think that would be lame. I actually like the character as she is right now though.

I don't think it's bad that Irma is going to be around more, but I do think it's bad that a character can't seem to get focus unless they're a mutant or planning to become a mutant or have weird powers.

I hope so. I know it can easily be interpreted that way, but I don't necessarily trust the staff not to do something dumb with her.
