There are unresolved issues in New York, are we to expect them to fall to the wayside in season 3? We spent the entire season watching mutants get created, yet not only did so few of them get retribution or healing, they didn't even show up in the end! I was kinda expecting/hoping to see Slash & Mutagen Man aid the turtles in their time of need, for example. Ah, well... I guess these things will get touched upon halfway into the next season? At least we won't half to wait long to see where things pick up. I just dislike the idea of a two part finale that doesn't really end anything, it's just a lead into the upcoming episodes. Would have liked to get some closure on at least one character's plot, rather than there being a host of new problems. But complaints aside I was definitely on the edge of my seat & it was entertaining.
I was afraid I was the only one who felt this way. This season finale was good and very strong but I didn't feel that much excitement for this episode. Outside the Leo one-shot scenes, nothing new or particularly special happened. It just felt like a bit of a rehash. And with both a Kraang invasion and a Shredder ambush, this episode felt a little too busy for me to care that much. I saw how serious the characters have felt over their losses but I just couldn't feel anything. Storywise, it's a strong episode but for me it lacked in trying to grab me emotionally. Even with what happened to Leo, I just wasn't as excited as I wanted to be.

I felt so bad for Donnie in this episode.

I'm not a shipper at all, but the way April stopped Donnie's confession made me think she actually does like him, and she played it up with Casey on purpose. I think Apritello fans are making me crazy. I just want the love triangle to be over.

That Raph/Mikey hug was my favorite thing ever. I was always on the fence with Nick Mikey, but he has been awesome in the past few episodes. He truly is the heart of the team.

I guess they are giving that to Donnie....(I say painfully)

but yea at least Apriltello dying down. (I hope they don't have Casey screw it up and make him out to be a jerk)
Alot of Raphael fans I know have actually given up on the show. They keep emailing me or sending messaged via facebook asking if there is an improvement, but I can't lie, because there hasn't been anything. Like I've said before, I'm more optimistic than they are, the show is still young, and they still have two whole seasons more to go, but I might find my interest start to wane some if they don't give the Raph fans something to be excited about!

And I don't want Apritello to die down. Like I said, it's one of the primary things that is keeping me tuned in. I just don't care for the Casey/April/Donatello love triangle.

I hope next season Raph gets his time. He might have not reacted that much to Leo....but he did seem very angry at Shredder.

I just want either 1) April to be single or 2) April choose Casey.

I like Donnie better when he's not around April...and there's too much stuff surrounding him right now. I feel like if he gets the main girl he's gonna be the star of the show at that point.

That Raph going crazy over Splinter was a great scene, it's just, he should have been just as bad about Leo as well.

I didn't give much thought about the Apritello stuff, but then when I started to show my 8/9 year old cousin the series, she was a sucker for it, and we actually bond quite well over it. She still loves Mikey to pieces, he will always be her favorite, but she loves the Apritello thing right behind him. I hope you are right, that they are just teasing this and drawing it out for suspence. After seeing the vid with Black Nerd and how Rob Paulsen gets tons of mail about Apritello, and the tons of fan fic, pics and youtube videos, it would be show suicide to end that storyline so soon, or at all for that matter.

Did Donnie intend to let April instead of Leo operate the Turtle Mech, right from his blueprint?

He didn't even seemed too upset. He spent half the damn time running from the Kraang. I hate what the writers are doing to Raph! Why do they hate him so much? All they do is make him into a bully and a crybaby? Where is the tough as nails, defend his family to the death with a heart of gold?

did you not see raphael bashing his head into the metal bars when shredder send splinter down into the sewer pipe? He was going insane, he was completely filled to the brim with rage. sure it wasnt at leo being thrown through the window, but still hes not a "crybaby".

he had great moments in this episode besides that, like when he stood up for donnie as casey asked about april, constantly throwing himself into harms way to try a and protect casey while they were running, then at the end when he had his arm around mikey as they drove away.

i cant say youre wrong, because its your opinion. but i can say raphael has been characterized as a selfless, supportive, strong brother. no part of him has dominatley defined him as a crybaby.

and i dont understand how you can just say "of course the episode had great scenes and incredible plot lines, but that one scene i didnt care for just completely trumps all of that."

I'm a little disappointed April's shop/home wasn't burned down, but otherwise it was pretty good. Yeah some of it felt too similar to Season 1's finale, but this had more emotional weight.

EPF = Bishop? Why would it have the same exact name when it could have been any other government agents?

i was actually wondering the same thing about bishop, like if thats who he worked for in 2k3.

while i dont expect bishop, the title could have been thrown in there because it fit, or even just as an easter egg to bishop, but would love to se him in this show

Not in this episode, but he is often either a bully, or complains/cries/whines about lots of stuff that his brothers do to make him loopie. Granted, I do like that so far, he's been the only one of the Turtles to actually talk back and get lippy with Splinter without remorse, and that I don't mind.

And why was Leo getting all hot with Donnie in the beginning with the whole leadership line?

i attributed that to the fact that they were running out of time. donnies intelligent, leos a leader. they both thought they had the right solution, and felt there was no time to question it. thats why donnie said if he was leader, because he thought he knew best then hed have the authority enact his plan

This episode gave me some feels. Glad season 3 starts asap, but I cringe at how they'll space eps.

Another Triceraton reference? Was their presence the reason the Earth Protection Force was founded?

I really enjoyed this episode, I think it may be one of my favorites! It was so awesome!

Spoiler:
Nice homage to the 2k3/Mirage with the whole Leo getting injured and leaving for North Hampton... Great Feels and I love what theyre doing with this new show!
Now I'm really looking forward to seeing Bishop since the EPF showed up.
I am a little disappointed Irma isn't real and was a Kraang the whole time, but Gilbert Gotfried's voice made up for that it's definitely an interesting way to use that character, I honestly didn't see that coming. If it was a Kraang though, why did she need glasses?
Can't wait for Season 3! Thank god its not a long wait lol

btw... to everybody having trouble with the video on Nick.com ,
the same thing has happened to me, the fix is very simple.... all you have to do is click forward later in the episode after where the first commercial break is located on the bar..... And then let it play until you can see both audio and video, then you start it over at the beginning without reloading the page and it should work fine

In truth they both were both in the right with their arguments and if they had collaborated they could have made both plans work.

Leo's idea of having a second base outside the city was a good one, it would have kept the first lair from being invaded and destroyed. But like Donnie pointed out the invasion could happen at any point, so they didn't have much time to do it.

Donnie's Turtle mech certainly helped stem the Kraang invasion, but the last resort tactic not only burned out the mech, but the entire city's electric grid. So there are probably some hospital patients who died as a result of the black out.

If they had collaborated they could have had the second base and found a way to use the Turtle Mech as well.

Don't hospitals have back up generators in case of a blackout?

Usually they do, yeah. Heck my workplace does...and we aren't a hospital, just a nation-wide department store chain.

I definitely agree with those statements. That's why when I saw that episode 'Slash and Destroy', it was Extremely Promising on what they could/would do with Raph...but then the follow up on that? They screwed it up entirely and dropped the ball so badly that it is mind boggling to me.

You could have done SO MUCH with the Raph & Slash dynamic (Raph still cares for Spike and yet will protect his family at all costs, a villain/possible villain who cares/respects Raph and yet has an ever-growing hatred for the rest of the family...someone who knows them personally and even where they live). You could even have had Slash do something like go to the Shredder to 'get rid of the rest of them, as long as Raphael is safe and sound' or such.

That could have been Raph's on-going arc of having to deal with something that he pretty much created while dealing with the guilt (as well as being the Protector for his family, maybe even growing less angry as he really does not want to be like Slash)...much like Leo has with Karai or Donnie has with April. And people can disagree all they want, but in my opinion they really dropped the ball on that one.

I can perfectly understand why other Raphael fans would give up on the show, as I'm leaning closer and closer in that direction too.

Well certainly a few more issues the city had to deal with on top of the Kraang invasion.
