TMNT books - worth it?

I'm thinking about getting these books, but I was wondering if anyone has them and can tell me about them...

The first book was written sometime in the nineties. I believe it lists all of the TMNT merchandise made at that time, including prices. Don't know what else it contains, but I've been wanting to buy it myself.

The second book you listed is a guide for the TMNT table top RPG. If you're into those kinds of games, then you should pick it up. From what I've heard, it's actually a lot of fun.

Hope that helps. I'm sure other members who own the books can provide more detailed info.

I was wondering when this kind of topic would pop up

Yeah, as far as TMNT books go, I had an idea for a book that should be done for the 20th anniversary of it next year. We all know of the artobiography just recently released, but I was thinking of something beyond that. One of the books I now own is called "Captain's Logs", an unauthorized publication on EVERYTHING Star Trek to that point: how it started, episode synopses on the entire original series and TNG, info on the movies, commentaries, the whole schmeer. It even has stuff on DS9 (ugh!) and a taste of Voyager (minor ugh).

That got me thinking: what if there was a publication (either authorized or unauthorized) on everything TMNT to date? Like I said, it should be done for the 20th anniversary, which means somebody will have to get his or her butt in gear in order for it to be released in time.

It should included as detailed as it can get info on:

- How it started
- Eastman and Laird
- The original Mirage series (each issue at a time)
- The original cartoon
- The first toy line
- Archie series
- All the video games to date
- The movies
- The (short-lived) Image comic series
- And even, I hate to admit it, The...Next...Mu...Mu....MUTATION! (*dies)

All of which should include commentary to its subject. It might even include some rough info on the current TMNT stuff (e.g the new toon, new toyline, Dreamwave comic); it'll obviously have to be "rough" considering all of that stuff has either just started, been incomplete, or not even been released yet; the Captain's Logs book I mentioned did the same thing with DS9 and Voyager (it had info on them but no episode synopses or the like).

If I can I'll post scans of the Captain's Logs book material so that I can give a basic idea as to what this TMNT book idea should be similar to.

Cool?

My friend has the first one. Basically from what I saw it looks like a huge picture book with bits of info on various peices of TMNT stuff. Not too sure about the second book, but if in table-top you mean like D&D....I WANT IT!

The second book is a RPG book. I almost bought the first book when it was published. Back then I believe that it costed $5-$7. It is a cool book because it does show everything about the TMNT from 1980s to the early 1990s.
