Overall I really liked this episode. One of my top four I'd say. The mind control thing made sense with Falco and I honestly didn't connect the dots that he would be The Rat King.

My only gripe about the episode as a whole was the reasoning of The Rat King to all of a sudden hate humans and love the rats. I mean, I suppose he could feel more for the rats sense they helped him in the fire and that was the last project he was working on, but couldn't he still use mind control on anyone else too?

It's from season 3, and called "Enter: the Rat King". This new episode was like a darker re-telling of that episode. Both give exhuses allowing Splinter to kick the butt of the turtles outside training.

If you own Vol 2 (or just bought ep 13 seperate) open itunes, go to TV Shows Library, click TMNT, and at the top of the drop down list you'll see "season 1" "season 2" categories -- it is rather hidden O.o
Thanks for the info I kept waiting to be able to download this, I wondered what was going on.

I def understand everyone not wanting to shell out $60 for Season 1 since they did call it a Season Pass. I don't remember who, but back when I bought the first "Season Pass" someone had posted warning that they figured it would only cover half the episodes. So I hoped for the best. They really should rename it the package so as not to confuse us. As its the only way I have to keep up with the series I went ahead and purchased it.

One of my favorite episodes thus far. Falco was a great choice for the Rat King; I never expected to see him again, but he was one of my favorite villains.

I love Nick Splinter more with every episode and I hope he gets a couple more main storylines eventually.

Another good episode.

I was a bit thrown, as I thought there would at least be a mention of Leatherhead or the subway car with the Kraang power source. I guess the episode may simply have been screened out of order.

I wasn't a fan of the design for the Rat King. It's creepy. And it's different. But, it wasn't the Rat King to me.

Otherwise, the episode was excellent. I enjoyed Splinter having a larger role in this episode. And I did like that the Rat King was a returning character. I also liked the emphasis on the need for the turtles to work as a team.

I seriously want an action figure of this new rat-king! I thought he looked awesome!

okay.. he looked more like "The Phantom of the opera." than any other interpretation of the rat-king. But I really liked that design any-way, I want it on my display shelf!

And if he is going to sit by a huge ass organ in the middle of the sewers in a future episode, sourounded by rats, only lith by candleligh, and play so loudly that the walls sounds like they are coming down. I wont complain, that would be awesome.

Uh you guys do favourite quotes? I think mine would be. "I don't know, try and poke him?"

It's just a ridicoulus concept. But we know why they did it, who-ever wakes Splinter is sure to be thrown into the wall. And he did. I'm sure glad Splinter is a martial art instructor and have instructed it to the turtles, otherwise this behaviour could easily be considered abuse oO;

Other favourite quite. "I just had a horrible realisation, he has been holding back on us for all of these years." which again, just showcases these writers great ability to write. "Oh snap." moments.

The highlight of this episode, and I don't think any-one will disagree, were definetely Splinters second fight with the turtles.
I was at the beginning of this show, very hesitant about the idea of making it computer animated, I got that it was a way to make it look different from the 2k3 show, but I just never ever liked computer animation in any tely show.
I how-ever, never realised how well computer animation lends itself to fight scenes like this, some-how it just looks smoother and cooler to have martial art fights in this formart. I guess there is an new ability to play with camera ankles and just stay on the figure as he moves around, it looks awesome, and is totally worth the computer animation.

The small bits inside of Splinters mind also looked cool, I kind of really liked the bit where they mixed the hand-drawn graphic picture with the animated figures, just taking Splinter and drop him right into the hand-drawn picture of his burning house, for a moment having that really cool effect of flames in his eyes.

The thousands of rats storming over NYC also looked cool, and ones again shows the pros of computer animation.

And honestly.. this episode is what made me officially. "Okay, that's it! this show is now on my list of top ten favourite cartoon shows of all time." and even though I enjoyed 2k3 turtles.. it never got that far with me.

Love this episode like what everyone just said.

Only thing tht bugged me was that Leo carried Hamato Yoshi's family frame picture. Wth?
Splinter was supposed to be at home under April's care. Why would he carry something that large in pursuit of Rat King?

I think Leo took the frame when he noted how important for Splinter it meaning was.... (sorry for my bad english...this sentence sounds to me a bit "Yoda" ) Hope you can get what Im trying to express.....

If its important to Splinter, he should've left the pic frame at home where Splinter was, lying sick under April's care. It doesn't even make sense why Leo took it.

He was forward looking and thought.

"If it actually does happen that Splinter breaks and gives into mind control, this picture here is probably my best shot at snapping him out of it."

Or it's just that splinter dropped the picture on the floor, and Leo picked it up intending to hand it back when Splinter felt better, then forgot he had it.

I didn't expect Nick's Rat King to be so boring. -_-

Shout out to Jase Ricci for his handling of Mikey. Very funny without going over the top. Probably my favorite all around writer for him.

Thought this was a great episode and I liked his voice a lot.
Still not all that into his design though, just don't understand why he has to look like a 60's/70's ghoul halloween door decoration lol
I do like that it's falco though.
Though I almost forgot to mention, how did Raphael and the others know it was Falco?
Was his voice that much of a dead give away to them?
That's the only thing that really bugged me about this episode.

It was Splinter... it was probably one of those things off screen during "we are the same kind" speech where he revealed who he was

I was reading some comics earlier this evening and came across Tales of the TMNT #47, the one detailing the origin of the Super-Turtles (the alternate universe seen briefly in V. 4 and then again when Ultimate Drako sent Mikey to their universe).

Anyways, Sliver (evil Splinter) dropped the "Everything you know, I have taught you... but I have not taught you Everything I know.." line. Thought that was pretty funny considering this episode.

Creepy eposde.

This version of Rat King certainly beats in overall creepiness factor his counterparts from OT and 2k3. It seems they decided to combine his abilities and personality traits from OT, with 2k3 creepiness. The result is interesting. I didn't expect it would be Falco.

Generally episode felt a bit undercooked, as in it had great potential, but ultimately it was not truly realized. Just my, IMO.
