Super Hero Hype Removed TMNT threads.

Shocking enough, another site I like to visit is the SHH, and it's kind of sad to see that the TMNT one has been taken down, to make room for the enormous line up for the upcoming DC and Marvel flicks and TV shows. Is the Turtle's popularity really waning as fast as it seemed to have started?

TMNT's fandom isn't all that big in comparison to leading properties from the big 2, & it's definitely less respected, as it is often dismissed for being a children's property. No surprise. Besides, anyone who wants to have a decent discussion about the TMNT just comes here, for the most part.

Outside of this forum, I never really see TMNT discussed heavily anywhere else. Most people don't follow the IDW comics (or the Mirage ones before that), and it seems like they only watched bits and pieces of the Nick show and the 4kids one flew under the radar for them.

I think a lot of people here don't actually realize how small the TMNT fandom really is compared to DC and Marvel.

Can't say I've visited that site much other than the occasional thing Google might have turned up, but that's a shame.

Hard knock life for an underdog... Even after 30 years I guess. But if some can't see this gem in the rough for what it is beyond the glare of bigger mainstream popularity, their loss.

That's unfortunate, I used to post stuff about the movie in the TMNT forums.

But I wouldn't be surprise if they created a forum section for TMNT 2 later on.

hopefully, but lets remember TMNT until recently has been an independent property and probably the most successful Independent intellectual property in comic history. And we now have a major company backing TMNT now. I think we are here to stay and we will eventual be a major player in the comic book industry.

Yep, a little Indie Comic became mainstream, all thanks to TV Shows, Video Games and Movies.

Figures, but thats no surprise with the large amount of DC and Marvel movies that have just been announced this month. The've got to start making room for all those ones.
