Dunno, we're referring them as "Mutanimals", because the lack of official name yet.
I guess they were referred before as "The Mutant Army" tho.

Perhaps the book will be titled Mighty Mutanimals, but they won't be referred to as such in-universe. Much like the guys never call themselves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the books.

as hinted in the Karai micro (look for some graffiti on a wall), they'll most likely still be called the Mutanimals.

Mondo Gecko was a gecko turned humanoid, just like Hob, Slash, Pigeon Pete, and Herman (the crab).

He most likely will. All the characters in Archie looked really cartoony. Seeing Santolouco draw him would be pretty cool.

I just want Null to have an origin. It bothers me when characters just appear without a backstory for the reason he/she is the way he/she is.

IDW will call them, "Mutanimals" for brand recognition. Same reason the recent specials were titled, "Turtles in Time" as a throwback to the classic game.

IDW relies heavily on nostalgia and brand recognition for all its properties, I'll be very surprised if the title isn't "Mighty Mutanimals" or something similar.

I bet Mikey will be the one who names them the "Mighty Mutanimals"

He looked like a perfectly normal business man except for tiny little horns. I laughed my ass off when I saw that.

You either have his demonic nature be subtley reflected in his design, give him red eyes and a goatee, or make him truly look like a monster. But not tiny little devil horns, it's too obvious to be subtle and too restrained to be intimidating and as a result it's just laughable.

I bet Ryan is proud that his idea is being revived in some form.

But he was working on reviving them himself, as The Selected (though that seems to have come to a halt).

When was this? Is there concept art flowing around somewhere?

I am so pumped for this! Really hoping that it's an ongoing, but trying not to get my hope up. It'll likely be a Microseries.

I'm kinda on the fence about this idea. The Mutanimals from the old Archie days held a special place in my heart. It doesn't feel the same to me, and I would rather they hold off on calling this group by that name until they get all the other members from before involved, INCLUDING Jagwar and Dreadmon.

This new comic would be a great way to Introduce Ninjara, Apparently, She was gonna be part of the Mutanimal Animated Series at one point.

But IDW already has Alopex, So maybe she can be a part of this new team.
