Well, I'm not talking like SHOWING the guy dying or whatnot. They said at the panel that Donnie would be possessed, so I'm just trying to figure out how that will work with the mutagen.

I really enjoyed this episode but it's not my favourite Mikey centric episode (Into Dimension X is still my favourite Mikey episode).

It was a lovely light hearted episode as the last one was dark and shocking (I noticed that they seem to be balancing out the light and dark episodes, 1 at a time), I have a feeling the Dream Beavers episode is going to be dark.

I loved the music, It had some feels moments and some good action scenes.

I love the ICK and Mikey moment when they are playing around.
I noticed that ICK was holding onto Mikey's leg.
Leo doesn't need the crutch now, so he's healing a lot now
ICK hissing at Raph and then he throws her back into the freezer.
Raph is such a Jerk calling Mikey a screw up.
Mikey saying goodbye to ICK and then ICK grabs Mikey's face and licks him then Mikey licks her back, the feels!!!!!!!!
I like that Mikey is trying to calm Napoleon down
LOl at Napoleon showing his dancing moves.
I'm glad that April is defending Mikey, telling the others they are jerks and they need to appreciate Mikey more. I hope we get more moments between April and Mikey as their hasn't been enough.
Oh my god, their is a picture of 2K14 Movie Mikey and a Pic of 80s OT Punk Frog.
Love the details on the web page. I'm surprised they can get Wifi out there.
The frogs home is a tall tree, Avartar reference.
Oh my god, there are lots and lots of mutated frogs.
Love the Mikey and Napoleon friendship bonding moment, it's nice to see Mikey make new friends.
Eww Mikey ate flies and he has one stuck in his teeth.
Thats a big horn, how did the frogs get it there.
Ouch!!!!! the frogs are hitting the turtles with there hammers.
I like the reason why the frogs hate humans because there home was destroyed by them, I was getting a Farthing Wood vibe here.
I like the fight between the turtles and the frogs.
Leo running and Jumping branch to branch throwing smoke bombs at the frogs was awesome.
Leo's leg still hurting him
Mikey saving Raph and then Raph hugging him and rubbing his face against Mikey's shoulder was adorable.
The tree on fire and the frogs losing there home, another Avatar reference.
Love that April telling Atilla that not all humans are bad.
The frogs going to live in Louisianna, shame it isn't Florida.
Aww, Leo and Donnie putting their arms round Mikey as they walk back to the farmhouse.

I wonder if we will see the Punk Frogs again, I hope we do. Maybe they could help the Turtles with the problem in New York.

My reaction to this episode is simple

Seriously? Napoleon as Napoleon? Where is the original creativity?

Genghis and Rasputin had personalities that matched their namesakes, but Attila just came off like another Godfather ripoff...

I was really hoping this episode was gonna be a good one

I like movie references used in creative ways. But, I did not care for this episode very much. Not impressive.

Wait, don't give the writers any ideas.
Apparently, Donnie is going to get mutated in to some weird car. I saw a picture of it online. It has like a Real Ghostbusters feel to it where the car is also a monster. In the pic I saw Donnie was a huge monster coming out of the top of the car with his body inside it. Sorta like how ICK is inside a bowl or whatever but his body is sticking out. I don't know if that was just some fan sorta envisioning things happening or something but I did see the art for it.

I didn't think it was that bad....but there have been a lot of movie references lately.....wish they would slow down a bit...

that's been known since nycc though I feel the mutagen on/in the car itself takes away from how it could possibly turn out

I really enjoyed this episode. It was silly and a total rip-off but I don't see how people weren't expecting some sort of reference to Dynamite, even when they knew Jon was voicing Bonafrog. It was as obvious as Renae voicing Mrs O'Neill - we saw it coming a mile off.

I liked the energy between Mikey and Napoleon. And the parallels between the frog family and the turtles. It was nice for Mikey to have a counterpart, but also one that he could teach instead of him always being the student.

Well, when cockroach spy mutated, he fused with his spy equipment. It'll be a similar thing I expect.

The tallest tree in a temperate deciduous forest is the Liriodendron, which is under 200 feet tall. The tree the frogs live in doesn't exist.

There was no historical or scientific basis for the frog caricatures. They've never left New York so they should exist in that bubble of familiarity. The Turtles don't emulate the people they're named after. The Frogs shouldn't have. And why are all the frogs taller than the Turtles? Not even a little bit of variation to show a difference in species?

Funny they go on the anti-human tangent because the ecosystem couldn't handle that many enormous frogs. They'd either deplete the insect population (and rodents? And birds?), or starve. They'd be just as destructive as humans, if not worse.

Good luck, Louisiana (how do they even know about Louisiana? They've never been there).

I know it's a kids show, but even fantasy creatures need to live in a realistically-created world.

I love Napoleon Dynamite, but didn't care much for the frog version of him. The other leader frogs were awesome and I hope Rasputin lived too.

^I didn't want to say anything but this was exactly what was going through my mind.

I guess it can be chalk up to artist license and maybe the mutagen can give mutants memories and instant know how on things, so animals that had contact with humans before they become mutated and will instantly know to read, speak english and know what ninjutsu is. Also base on how Napoleon looked, it's a possible that they had observe humans from a distance and took some things from them and learn so things.
These are half ass explanations, I know but it's all I got man.

Not gonna lie, totally busted out laughing at the 2k14 movie reference. Well played, Ciro.

This was a pretty great episode. Looking forward to the next episode. The new Punk Frogs were great.

I've seen more people say they like Napoleon Dynamite in this topic, than I have at all combined outside of this topic.

Query: Who wrote this episode? Did Ciro write it himself?

There never needed to be a frog kingdom. That's the idea that broke the episode.

If they would have left it as four mutated frogs in a marsh, it would have worked. If they had shown restraint in the visual and personality cues given to the four, it would have worked.

The source material needed a new coat of paint, not a complete rebuild into something else.

Edit: Kevin Burke & Chris "Doc" Wyatt also wrote "Mutagen Man Unleashed" and "Pizza Face."

It's show aimed for kids, first and foremost, which doesn't bother with consistency and accuracy a lot of times. That is all explanation you need.

Another thing, that I haven't said before: namesakes of Punk Frogs had little to do with the original deal. I am usually not bothered, when new version of characters related to their previous incarnations "in name only", but I find it could be jarring for some people. And I think this show does this a bit too often.

I am obviously hinting at Hun.

It can be a real hit or miss sometimes. Sometimes, rebuilding can some make characters more interesting then what they were originally like Bebop and Rocksteady who now have actual backstories instead of being some henchmen.

Well I liked that the frogs are actually interesting look at this time around and it's nice that they had individual personalities this time around. Still kinda sucks that I still don't think they're compelling characters and like with Snakeweed, Spider Bytez, Rat King, Justin, Spy-Roach, the Wasps, etc, I don't get the feeling that we will be seeing them much, not in any signifigant way at least.

Still, an improvement on the Punk Frogs as characters (even an improvement that still can't make me like them enough) is still an improvement. I mean just look at what they were working off, looks more like a TMNT knock-off than actual TMNT characters...
