Leo, I can't cry you a river - I desperately need the precious moisture. I sweated so much today that it's a miracle I haven't shriveled into a raisinette.

Seriously though - I'll swap you anytime.

Pass, sorry, already had my share far as I'm concerned.

[Delayed gear grinder] Someone last month had to bring a virus home from their job. Thought I was avoiding getting it, and then just when I did and was expecting it to only get worse...I'm told the next day we were using the bug bomb fogger stuff on the house the next day (because of someone's dumb cats and the fleas they attracted into parts of the house - they're indoor cats!) and would have to leave for a few hours. Yup, drag a sick person around and fill the house with stuff that's hard on the sinuses - appreciated it.

Now after venturing to Walmart and Deals on Monday I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that groceries were the only thing I brought home.

It's been threatening to pop up off and on since October, but then this weekend half the locker room was sick and a ton of my gym clients have been as well, and I guess it all finally caught up. I'd been exhausted for no reason since Sunday afternoon and sleeping a lot, and then Monday/Tuesday I wasn't very hungry, when usually I eat pretty disgusting amounts of food. When I couldn't swallow all day yesterday without feeling like I was gargling broken glass, that was the final tip-off.

The only "consolation" is that most of my clients are also sick or on vacation, but that does my wallet no favors regardless, PLUS now there's the concern about whether I'll be well enough by Christmas, which... I doubt. Hopeful, but this sh*t usually hangs onto me for about two weeks. I just want to be able to f*cking breathe. And I have mood swings like a menstruating teenage girl. Can't stand it.

This time of year can eat my f*cking ass.

Hope you guys are over your ailments soon and doing good for Christmas (and/or other holiday observances/get togethers). That's my main concern, not being miserable on the 25th, been there done that too many times... Not working outside the house right now so if I can help it I'm just mostly gonna stay home and keep away from all that plague circulating.

Viruses don't tend to get to me too easily, usually it's just one annual winter cold, maybe two, but what does get me always has to be one that really sucks.

Feel better guys!

Why the hell am I getting calls for Crystal Wright (or however it's spelled)? I always ignore numbers I don't recognize, but they've been calling multiple times lately. I know it's for Crystal Wright because when I check my voice mail it says, "this message is for Crystal Wright. This contains private and personal info-" and that's usually where I delete the message. But good grief. If I haven't answered the bloody call the first 50 or so times they've called, why the heck do they insist on still calling my number? I've also been getting random calls from Missouri, probably for this Crystal Wright person, cause the only person I know who was from Missouri is my friend, but she said she didn't recognize the number when she saw it.

Y e a h... stuff with lots of milk in it creates more mucous, buddy. Better flip that sh*t.

I get sick a lot like you have this year, but I'm starting to guess that some of yours is loosely related to your eating habits, especially if you're getting a lot of recurrences. I did notice that I got sick less often and for shorter periods once I started changing the way I eat, but my immune system is generally crap anyways, so it's hard to really tell how much "better" its gotten, especially since this one just started.

Anyways, all you need to be drinkin' is gallons of water and the occasional cup of tea with honey in it. Sometimes, if you have a shot of blackberry brandy and then go to sleep under a ton of blankets, it helps you sweat some of the sh*t out. Not always, but it can't hurt. Steaming hot showers as often and as long as you can stand it. And if you haven't yet, get this:

Food-wise, I'unno, I can barely ever swallow when I'm sick. I was able to get down a burger and some chicken nuggets before. Basically, if you're sick and you can eat, it really has to be "real" food. None of that candy or sh*t has any proteins or nutrients your body needs to keep itself alive, let alone fight an infection, so it has to resort to eating its own organ tissue, which will further lower your immune system.

I've... done this before.

Yeah that cheesy stuff isn't going to help at all either, not unless a person wants more congestion. lol

As it is I've pinpointed that I'm probably sensitive to guaifenesin, an expectorant in some meds. I have always had very little to no allergies or sensitivities to anything, and yet that stuff seems to make me dizzy. So it's a choice between dizzy or congestion. >.>

Generally speaking, eating spicy stuff clears your sinuses (which is why it makes your nose run).

Wow - I didn't know that. When I had the flu, Mum always used to give me flat lemonade (which, as I understand, is different from your US version of lemonade... over here, lemonade is literally soda, but not actual lemon-flavored soda. Like... Sprite is considered lemonade over here, but Lift would be considered squash, not lemonade. I dunno, weird regional thing. *shrugs*)

But yeah. I always equate flat lemonade with throat-soothing action!

It's amazing that there's like 87 versions of "English" depending on where you are in the world.

And yet only people from NJ actually speak it properly and without an accent. Amazing.

My mom had that issue when she got a third mobile number. Apparently the number she obtained belonged to some lady who conned some bank out of a sh*t ton of money and my mom was constantly getting hounded with phone calls.
