We may get a re-release one day, but I just don't see it happening while Nick is still actively producing new seasons and DVD releases for the new show. Re-releasing the 4Kids series at this time would only confuse more people, thinking it's the Nick series due to the Nickelodeon logo that will inevitably be printed on the box (like Turtles Forever). I also wonder how will they market the product at this time, it's neither the "classic collection" nor the "new show", what should they call it? Just labelling it as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the animated series" or something can just mean any of the 3 shows in existence and people wouldn't know what they are buying (especially online) without referring to the art work, which unfortunately, can be tempered or replaced with a wrong one (even worse).

That's a good point actually; what would they call it? I'm sure they'd find something to call it if they ever get around to re-releasing it. They shouldn't have to though, anyone with eyes would be able to tell that they're two entirely separate shows. Except no doubt kids' parents who couldn't care less what it is, as long as it shuts their kids up for a few hours at a time.
And yeah, Nick not wanting it to compete/cause confusion with their own show seems to be the most common opinion as to why they haven't re-released it yet.

See... even a TV show can suffer from the middle child syndrome!

Maybe the 2k3 or something along those lines would be a good title. 4Kids is/was a network so if they released a blu ray now they probably would have to omit any mention of 4kids.

4Kids was a production company though, wasn't it?

Used to be, but now it no longer exist. It has filed bankruptcy in 2011 and the remains of the company was later reincorporated as 4Licensing Corporation. It would be inappropriate for Nickelodeon to re-release any of its media with the term "4Kids" on its label or description.

I checked and double-checked both my Turtles Forever DVDs, there are logos of Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, and Viacom, but no mention of 4Kids at all, not a single trace of it.

The last Fast Forward DVD, on the other hand, has logos of 4Kids TV, Mirage Studio, and Funimation Entertainment.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us. Saved us from going through the same mistake!

If you are still looking for the Season 2 DVDs, why not consider getting the loose volumes #9 to #14 instead? There are still plenty of those available from Amazon. If you are concerned about the episodes not in the correct order, only #12 and #14 have bad ordering, the rest are still pretty much okay. The re-ordering nightmare really only start with Season 3 till the first half of Season 4, but you don't have to worry about that since you already have the Australian set. Congrats!

A minor thing that annoys me about the early releases for season 1 and 2 is that the bumpers are intact on every commercial break. The season releases removed those (and seemed to re-encode the episodes). This usage of the bumpers seemed to stop around the Turtles Against H.A.T.E. release.

Do we know if Nickelodeon is considering releasing dvd sets of this show? So we don't have to spend a ton of money online.(Yes I know the eps are on YouTube)

Don't spend money right now on the DVDs. Unfortunately, right now just isn't the time to purchase the 4Kids series on DVD. Just keep praying that maybe someday the series will get a proper rerelease.

I often wonder how a re release of the 4Kids series on dvd would be structured. I've started to think that seven season releases might be a few too many. I could see a re-release on dvd getting structured with 4 - 6 disk releases, like this:

Volume 1
-Season 1: 4 Disks
-Season 2: 2 Disks

Volume 2
-Season 2: 2 Disks
-Season 3: 4 Disks

Volume 3
-Season 4: 4 Disks
-Season 5: 2 Disks

Volume 4
-Fast Forward: 4 Disks
-Back To The Sewer: 2 Disks

Turtles Forever: Special Edition

Finally completed 2K3!!!

Granted they're all the PAL version where I haven't seen any major issues with quality but still a very very happy camper right here

I gotta say this is my pride and joy collector wise. If nick rerelease I'll still get them simply just because...but yeah good way to end the year

Congratulations! I guess the most difficult hurdle was the two BTTS volumes, which weren't even released outside of region-4. Glad you made it!

Thanks Evan2000!

The first BTTS Something Wicked was surprisingly easy, I think one seller on ebay had 10 copies at one stage so I got a couple of copies, they've since dried up but City Under Siege was by far the hardest to find. I'd search for that almost on the hour if I could every day until after months and months of searching I just gave up. Then a few weeks after I'd given up, I think what the hell I'll do a search and wouldn't you know it there it was brand new on ebay
