Sho' nuff. The cool kids make the rules.

(Really it was just tweakin' penny about the Sprite/Lemonade thing. But hey, when you're right, you're right! )

One Dromer still got his "slightly" racist thread linked in his signature.

That's a bit gear grinding.

The fact that we could get a snowstorm on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I'm all for the gentle falling snow, but not a snowstorm.

But yeah. I always equate flat lemonade with throat-soothing action!
Was always the ginger ale at my house, still drink it sometimes when sick, but I guess that probably isn't helping at all either since it's rarely a stomach thing. lol

Jersey? Jersey?? Or is this some other NJ I don't know about, otherwise I call shenanigans. *throws rocks at Jersey across the DE river*

Yeah, I always had either 7-Up or ginger ale when I've had the flu. Really helped. Once I had Gatorade after I was sick and it helped with the weakness I was feeling.

Y'know, it's funny... I normally can't smell anything because of my sinus problem, but... I can always tell when I cross that bridge and actually get inside Delaware.

Hahaa, we're havin' fun.

Argh, the Character Builder for D&D 4th edition isn't working properly. And I have to update my character for tomorrow.

S'okay. I'm addicted to cough drops now. Guess we make a good pair! As an aside, I've found that Alka-Seltzer and cough drops together seem to keep the worst of it at bay. I can at least breath with those.

Funny thing- I've been eating ice cream and chocolate for mine- it helps my throat, at least.

That it does, and I've been eating more spicy stuff to counteract the congestion. It helps a bit.

And that's your ONLY complaint? Don't even get me started on that mess. TBH, 4th ed D&D never really worked properly in the first place. Thus the move to the 5th ed in D&D Next.

Psh... that's just Delaware City.

Or is it clearer air lets your sinuses open up and allow you to breathe. That Jersey air, yeah, not sure about that.

Sorry to hear and read that you guys are either sick or dealing with sinus issues. I think that there is a bad winter bug flying around. I caught it too and boy am I tired of cold medicine, Mucinex DM, and nasal spray.
Another gear grinder that I share with you guys.

My better half has it and she's pissed. I've miraculously managed to avoid it so far, but we'll see. Woke up with a massive sinus headache the past three mornings, so I guess some of the wealth has been shared with me.

Can I contract sinus infections through a computer screen? Powder, Leo, and now Blindturtle.

I'm next. January is coming. Every year I get the flu.

Spoiler:
The second day I had the flu was actually the day I joined. The 21st I think.

Wow. I feel sorry for all of you. I already had my flu of the year a week or so ago. Hopefully I don't get it again, but I hope you guys do get better soon.

As much as I'm trying to just keep away from where that stuff is getting passed around, had to do dinner with the family for my sister's birthday this evening. Annnnnd...she chose the Fuddruckers restaurant, the first in the state, that was crowded on a Thursday night because it's been open for only about one week.

Very good food, but... those self serve soda things, the condiment disspensers, etc... call me a germaphobe, but seriously, stuff is bound to be passed around, this is not the season to take it lightly. lol
Spoiler:
Omg hand sanitizer, stat!

Bad thing is I live with these people I went to dinner with, even if I fend it off they're still bound to possibly bring it home and share it.

Another gear grind - the way people go crazy on the roads at this time of year. The bad drivers and road rage pose a constant threat to my life; I try to avoid driving as much as possible at this time of year.

Sadly, I was almost guaranteed to get it, seeing how I WORK in fast-food, which is pretty much the Mecca for germs anywhere, with all the people coming and going, money changing hands (it is one of the BIGGEST offenders in passing around germs!) and of course, kids. We have a play-area(one of only four stores in our company's chain nation-wide that does, or so I'm told), so naturally we attract families like (pardon the pun) the plague.

yeah, cause the CB is down, as in not working.

4th edition is a great edition, easy to learn (and teach), removes the extreme numbers of tables and heavily streamlines the game and makes it balanced, and leaves a lot up to role-playing. In my opinion easily the better edition overall. The only nitpick I have with 4th is that combat takes too long, which is something our DM have fixed with a really easy tweak.

personally I find the whole edition war thing hilarious, cause no one is forcing people that don't like 4th to play it, just because it's (was) the latest edition, Wizard didn't come into their homes and burned the old books, they are still there, heck they have even been re-released. I love all the editions I've tried, every editions bring something up to the table and each fit in a certain types and style of games.

And the Edition Formerly Known as Next, do have some nifty stuff, it tries to harkens back to older editions, but the DMG is a cluster mess where it looks like they wrote keywords on cards, shuffled them and drew the cards randomly until they had enough to fill 250 pages, then added tables and lists to fill the remaining 50. the paragraphs seems to be written in that random order they drew the cards and the rolled a D20 to see how many paragraphs each subject got. it all seems randomly put together.

I had a lot of fun play-testing, but I'm rather iffy on the final product.

I just hacked up two bloody "golf balls" and then puked nothing but mucous for ten straight minutes. Woke up her mom by accident. I'd actually managed to fall asleep for a few solid hours, finally, but the downside is that the stuff seeps into my throat/lungs when that happens, so when I wake up and first try to breathe or drink water, it triggers that kind of violent reaction. This suuuuucks.

Other than aspirin and FloNase, which I have to take whether I'm sick or not, and antibiotics when available, I stopped taking OTC meds a long time ago. They can't kill the infection, it just has to run its course, so there's really no point. I got tired of being "tricked" into feeling like I was getting better, thus getting up and out sooner than was safe, and accidentally passing along the sick to other people, or worse, having it come back even harder right away because I *thought* I was better and didn't take care of myself right. Plus, the pills and syrups and stuff just did horrible things to my stomach, and I just got fed up. I don't want to "feel" better until I'm actually better; masking it is just asking for trouble. Sometimes I take a Zyrtec-D if I'm 9/10s over it but still have a cough, but just to get through work. My wife relies on it but because of that, she always swears she's "Better" because she feels better even though she's still hacking and sniffling and everything else. "But I feel fine!" Yeah, that's the pill. You're clearly still sick.

Sigh. Hoping to go back to work Sunday. This isn't the worst I've had, not by far... but lord, I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
