This happened to me yesterday. Go to my Taekwondo class after work and I noticed that none of the black belts showed up. Now because none of the black belts showed up, Grandmaster Le himself ran the drills. This dude should not be allowed to run drills at all. He is like Hercules and he had us running through boot camp drills almost for an hour straight. Grrrrrr!

Damn eating all of mine and my family's ramen noodles this one girl is. I mean I don't mind if you want ramen when you come over, but when you're eating two bloody packages each day, then we have a problem. It's basically all she eats when she comes here. Not unless she's stuffing her face with our other food that we already have a hard enough time affording. I mean holy frick. If you're going to be eating like there's no tomorrow when you come here, bring your own f'in food. Arg! So.

Amazon's Mturk site I've mentioned before... A "Requester" (someone who posts small tasks, surveys, or college-based research studies) approved and paid a wholeeee bunch of people (including me) - then hit us with a hard block. On Christmas Eve.

Hard blocks are bad. They are meant for bad workers to block them from accessing a requester's posted jobs. Some incorrectly use it to simply prevent anyone from accidentally doing a repeat, BUT there are other methods of preventing it that don't have the negative impact, including a soft block. (But there are better, more common methods that block from repeats of only the task itself, not all of the requesters listings, which most use instead of blocks.) One too many hard blocks (and not sure you can get more than 2 or 3) can get your account suspended and you can't get it back, nor can you make another one. Too many requesters using hard block inappropriately could cause a worker to lose their account undeserved.

Sent a polite message to this person explaining these things... Hoping it will be reversed. Who knows. Some requesters ignore emails. What a great Christmas present. Certainly is my WTF gear grinder of the day. Need that cash to help pay some bills and recover my bank account from the holidays and far too many birthdays this time of year... I really don't need the stress of worrying about that.


And for the record I always try to do my best for those I choose to work on. Have been doing this for just over a year and so far have zero rejections, completed well over 2000 tasks (low by some standards but I'm picky and cautious) and all approved.


Edit: Did not personally hear anything back, but some did and it seems to have been resolved.

What grinds my gears today? Seeing a big shot comic book writer (his books are frequently in the top ten) attack someone known for demonstrating strong symptoms of OCD and telling him nothing he posts matters a jot and that his dream of certain characters being a team or together will never materialize.
