The human skeletons was a nice touch because it would fly over the heads of children yet older fans see the dark implications there.

Great episode overall. A lot of the Leonardo/April interaction was great, because I can only remember so many times when they've exchanged more than one line of dialogue in a scene.
I think the reason Leo realized he could stand was that he was so dependent on his crutch and down on himself already that his injury had become more psychological than physical. He's been healing for the whole season and he just had to realize that now, even though he occasionally hurt, he didn't need the crutch. Loved Raph and Casey's exchange about getting frequently kidnapped by mutants. I also saw a lot of Casey and Raph dynamic in this episode, and I'm glad because Casey usually talks to Donnie more. Basically, the only part of this episode I didn't like was the little bit where Donnie is on one of the cards but April guesses it's a worm, so Donnie's head turns into a worm (?!). Kind of an off-putting image. I was like "Oohh-kay..."

Probably the second best episode of the season. I loved how the show acknowledged that there are so many mutants. I'd rank the episodes...
1. Within the Woods. 2. Eyes of the Chimera 3. In Dreams 4. Buried Secrets 5. The Croaking 6. Race with the Demon 7. A Foot Too Big. |

Also, this episode helped me get used to Seth's voice.

His voice got a tad too deep when he yelled "NO" right after Casey said "you can still spar with us" that I thought it was Master Splinter! Then I realize it was just Leo who said it, and not a surprise visit by Master Splinter
![]() Other than that I've come to accept that Leo's new voice is pretty much permanent by now. |

When the Chimera freed himself from the rubble, roaring and stone debris flying about, that was a reference to Gargoyles.

Finally got to see the episode. It was fun, I think it's one my favorites so far this season. Kind of embarrassing when I realized I've been pronouncing chimera wrong for a week, but, ahh well. I can't wait for the Spirit Quest.

I loved this episode but that's no surprise as I'm a huge Leo fan. I agree that his whole deal with his knee was definitely more psychological than physical. Yeah, it would twinge a bit, but he made more out of it than he should have and he should have just calmed down. I agree that his being able to stand was a bit quick, but it was good to see him getting back to himself. Loved the look he got after April said, "Let's go rescue the guys." Yeah, the moment where April wanted to eat him was definitely awkward for sure, but it was funny as was Mikey getting burnt by the water. The part where Leo and April are riding the chimera was the best and I loved the music with it, too. Overall, an awesome episode, and it looks like we haven't seen the last of the chimera.
Oh, and don't worry because I've always missed pronounced it. I've always pronounced it as the way it's spelled like chim-err-ah. Guess I was wrong. Bring on the Vision Quests!

This was probably my favorite episode of the season so far. None of these episodes have really done much for me though as these stories don't really encompass what Northampton has always been for the Turtles. Next week looks promising though.

So anyone else getting tired cliffhangers that likely won't be followed up upon? I swear if the Chimera returns (not as an hallucination or a quick cameo) I will be really surprised.

I was watching the episode again and noticed that Mikey knows about Mythology but he couldn't remember the name, Chimera. I thought that was cute.

Those skeletons... If the area was only sparsely populated with people, it's even more-so now. I could see visiting fishermen being common target though. |
