April: New Definition of Neutrino

What we know about the Neutrinos from the OT is that they are a humanoid race that exists within Dimention X. And they have telekinetic/psychic powers as infants that eventually fade as they age.

With April we know she has psychic powers which she has just barely tapped into. And she has had a sensitivity to the things around her her whole life.

However the psychic/telekinetic powers seemed to be an unforeseen side effect of the alien DNA in her blood. If the kraang had expected that they would have taken measures to prevent her from using them.

So perhaps, through April we are getting a new definition of what a neutrino is.

First off when Donnie tells April she is a mutant, that was more along the lines of not having any other way to describe what she was. She isn't a mutant like the Turtles are, but at that time that is the only thing that seems the closest definition.

Second we have seen Dimention X and its largely dominated by the Kraang. The neutrinos aren't mentioned nor featured.

Three it seemed too convenient that the Kraang stumble upon the one family with the DNA strand needed to stabilize their mutagen. And it's doubtful that April's mother is the only woman let alone pregnant woman that the Kraang have experimented on.

So perhaps there are other people who have Kraang DNA in their blood stream. But April is currently the only one the Kraang appear to know about as it felt more like they were intending April to be a living weapon in the first season, but in the second season it was revealed her blood can stabilize the mutagen. And clones of her were being made for that purpose.

I know in the OT and IDW the Neutrino's were featured with elf ears. However I think that was more of a way to set them apart from normal humans such as Casey and April, so who knows we could see more humanesk version of Zak, Dask, and Kala.

We ourselves don't entirely know if Kurtzman is human. He is too knowledgeable about the Kraang to have been investigating them for a year as he has claimed. It is possible that he is an Utrom (perhaps a more benevolent version of the Kraang) But he could just as well be the Fugatoid.

I like this theory. It would perfectly explain April's powers. Her "psychic" blast makes sense too, since Mikey mentioned that everything in dimension x responds to sound.

I like the idea of April being a new definition of Neutrino though I do wish we had Neutrinos from dimension X. But if they were going to make Neutrinos come from dimension X, they would have at least mentioned them by now.

Love the theory (as always ) I admit I don't remember much about the Neutrinos.. I gotta go back and watch the episode(s), but it sounds like it would be a great way to explain April's powers.

They were actually mentioned in the new Turtles game. I don't know if it means anything though, it could just be a woo, reference!

Brilliant theory! If it is not correct, the writers have seriously erred.

I've been hoping from almost the beginning of the show that April might be revealed to be a Neutrino. I like your explanation of how it might work out too!

That's an interesting theory. Makes sense. I've noticed a pattern with April's powers from almost the beginning. Seems whenever they would go crazy or over-the-top, she wasn't in control of them and seemed to be in reaction to or linked to something Kraang-related, whether directly or indirectly and also while scared or distressed (like when Raph was about to get hurt by those Kraang in that episode with the April clones). As of where the show is now, we still have never seen April use her powers in a situation that wasn't connected somehow or traced back to the Kraang, other than the Dream Beavers ep where April tried to establish a psychic link with all four turtles to get them to wake up, and even then, you can attribute that back to her training with Splinter, teaching her to concentrate and stuff. This is why I don't have a problem with April's powers, per se because of how it's used and when it's used. There's clearly a pattern here and isn't random.

It does make me wonder if this is definitely leading up to something and if she is this iteration's version of a Neutrino or even her mother.

Oh yeah, and as for Kurtzman, I'd been suspicious of him since he first appeared. I really do feel there's a lot more to him than meets the eye because of what you said. There are your good investigative reporters, but no one's that good. To get all that information, he had to have been "investigating" the Kraang for years. He said he started investigating them when the scientists went missing. No one can gather that much information in only one year. He was just way too knowledgeable.

Good theory - and it would make the presence of her powers in the story a lot less irritating, IMO. Makes it seem like less of an ass-pull for dramatic tension.

If they establish that there other people like April then maybe they can go into detail of psychic battle strategies instead of relaying on "my power level is higher then yours!" dbz bs.

They have already establish that psychic powers can be effected with use of tools and technology.

In the show's example, kraang tech (and a radio!) turned April's telepathy into telekinesis, so what I like to see is people who are like April using technology to not make their power stronger but channeled in a different state.

Interesting that the Neutrinos were mentioned in that game though that may or may not be cannon so who knows.

Seems a good idea certainly I dont know much of the neutrinos, but would they likely include the others you named as part of introducing Bishop and the EPF?

If she is a Neutrino she's only partly one.
She doesn't have pointy ears like Neutrinos do. But her being a human-Neutrino hybrid would make so much sense.
I'd definitely approve of it if she was.

Well in the 2k3 incarnation Bishop was added in as a character because the Shredder was an alien. Now that the EPF have been introduced in the Invasion Episode, it would make sense that Bishop was added sometime in the future as a new enemy that the Turtles have to deal with.

If April was created to be a living weapon among other things, then naturally the EPF would want to capture her so they can study her or some how neutralize her powers.

As I said in the opening post, the elf ears were largely so they differ from normal humans. As without them it would be somewhat harder to tell they were actually from another dimension. So April would be a new definition of a neutrino. Much like all the characters who have been adapted from other incarnations are all new definitions of themselves.

But she was born to human parents.
Her mom was experimented on, but her dad wasn't.
So she's at least partly human.

That's why I said new definition.

Originally the Neutrinos are a humanoid race that exists within Dimention X.

But in this case a Neutrino could be a human who was created via experimentation by the Kraang as a living weapon or tool of the Kraang. So in other words a human who has genetic association with Dimention X

As we know in Kraang conspiracy April's mother was experimented on sometime before April was born. And in buried secrets we learn April's mother family line . However it feels way too convenient for the Kraang to just stumble on the one family that had the blood line needed to stabilize their mutagen. And it's doubtful that April's mother was the only pregnant woman the Kraang had experimented on. So it would make sense that there were others but April is the only person that the Kraang appear to know about.

In monkey brains, it was implied that the Kraang were using human scientists (presumably some with less than high moral standards) to help refine the mutagen - which itself resulted in experiments in telepathy. Could that be somehow related into all of this?

Unless you count Kirby O Neil. They know him enough to use him to try and capture April - and we also know very little about his background beyond that he is a psychologist (again a mind related field....)

Plus, don't forget any mutants that seem to have Kraang like abilities or traits- Malachi with his ability to alter one's perception of reality, the eyes on Snakeweed and Pigeon Pete (have you noticed the odd color of their eyes and the shape of their pupils?) and telepathy (Mr. Rockwell) and mind control (Rat King, even though he is just an altered human.)

All of these have Kraang abilities or traits, this superpowered-ness isn't just limited to April. My theory is that these abilities are normal in Dimension X, but not so much here. The mutagen (in the imperfect way it works in this dimension) only gives partial traits of dimension X creatures, whereas the perfect mutagen makes creatures into them a lot more fully.

Why do so many people write "Dimention X"? It's "Dimension X".
