Shredder Redesign Challenge 2015

Welcome to the Shredder Redesign Challenge. All submissions must be posted by February 15th 11:59 p.m. EST Good luck!!!

Rules

Spoiler:

All people who choose to participate will have two weeks to come up with a redesign for the given character. You can use any medium you wish. You can sketch, paint make a 3-D model, make a sprite, make a custom action figure, whatever you want. Its entirely up to you!

As well, you don't have to force yourself to make your design conform to any new or old cartoon or comic book's style. Be as drastic in your redesign as you see fit. Whatever makes you happy.

If you can't think of a new design, or just hate the idea of working on this character, you do not have to feel obligated to participate in this particular challenge. You will still be free to participate in any future challenges you wish.

Shredder Background

Spoiler:

Shredder is the leader of the Foot Clan and is a master in Ninjitsu. He wishes to destroy Splinter and the Turtles along with his mutant henchman. He's cruel, heartless, and doesn't care about anyone but himself. He is covered in razor blades making him seem scary to attack. He's one of the Turtles' most feared and most toughest opponent.

EDIT: Also Shredder does not have to be human in the Redesign. You can make him as unique as you want!

Hey redeemer, I have like 3 different pieces but it helps show My re design, is it OK to post 3 pictures that I illustrated?

What do you mean??? Is it like a splash page where two pieces of paper make one big picture? Or is it three different pictures?????

If its the SAME design just with three different illustrations then that is fine.
But if its different or varying designs then you can submit up to two designs but it will split you vote when people vote.

Here's mine! The colouring job was super quick, and I may re-do that and replace this file if time permits. But this gets the idea across.



Not reinventing the wheel or anything - just wanted to get away from the heavily-armoured, robotic-looking take we've seen more of in the 2000s and give him a kinda-classic but formal/regal look. I worried that the foot and elbow blades might be overdoing it, but I imagined them being totally removable and would just give him a few more, very specific options for bladed attacks.

And funny enough, my other idea was a Shogun armour design, but Creativemind's covers that nicely.

I drew this a while back, but I wanna share it. This is my Scotch-Korean Shredder. I originally thought him up during all the rumors during the early Early stages of the movie when all sorts of stuff was flying around about what the shredder would look like. So I just took a page from the Starburst contradictions commercials and drew this during a work break on a post-it note:


Chainmail in his helmet, hand-forged gauntlets, foot clan tartan and a classic 'poofy' shirt.

I don't think we have ever had anyone submit two or more sketches of the same design. You could always submit two different designs.

Yeah it is fine. This is a redesign challenge. You can submit all three as long as they are the same design.

Glad to see so many submissions. I am hoping to submit mine tomorrow. I am struggling right now

Here's my design it's a younger version of The Shredder, it's more of a tactical military design, this version is more of a grinder that handles his situation instead of sending his goons to do his work. These pieces were freehand no reference that I drew on my Note 3.
