It is annoying that I (and others) bought these figures with no idea that we needed to keep an eye out for bootlegs. Probably why the price was reassuringly high yet a bargain. Now everyones more aware they are making them bargain-tastic to shift the rest.

Pretty smart but annoying.

It's funny how all of you will complain about no wave 2 but buy bootlegs when there is not a wave 2 look at this as why bootlegs don't support the line.

I doubt people buying illegal copies will be the undoing of a future wave 2, it seems like most online stores seems to be out of stock, except stores like BBTS where they cost around $60 (which imo is steep, but better then buying counterfeits).

But, then again. If people settles for bootlegs, that might quell the demand for new releases to a point that Kayodo don't see the profit of re-releasing the Turtles and making future waves.

I agree and I have never knowingly bought bootleg figures (Might still pick up the coloured headband necas after reading on here). I bought these assuming they were legit and only realised my mistake after they were shipped.

Still I am glad they seem ok (So far) but I still want the official ones. I am not posting pics on here to advertise and sell bootlegs but to share and inform.

Everyone should judge the quality risks and morality of such purchases on their own.

Oh, I'd definitely rather have the authentic ones. And if I had a bit of extra money when they pre-sold (for fairly reasonable prices) from Japan I probably would have. But that was right around the time I got married, so any non-essential expenses weren't an option. (Uh, not complaining about that at all, mind you. I'd definitely choose my wife over some dang Ninja Turtle toys. )

But the prices are so jacked-up everywhere you can get them now that any halfway-decent bootlegs have gotten kinda tempting. I'm still wary of the gamble, though, so I may have to pass entirely.

I'd snap these up in a minute if I could still get them for about $40-45 each. But $240 (plus shipping, plus exchange rate, plus import fees) for the set is just too much, and that's probably one of the cheaper options for the legit ones.

Ah well. Guess you can't have everything.

So I have opened my raph figure today and its great. Much firmer joints than Leo (who was fine really) no build issues,No trimming of the head holes and the stand is solid. Only issue is the weapons that are rubbery. I don't have the originals to compare with but I actually like this as they would be really hard to snap and they are very thin. The problem is the peg to secure them in his hands doesn't seem to fit in the holes. Not a huge issue but firm grip is tricky.

Will put pics up tomorrow.

Have you ever considered some of these buyers are buying these counterfeits because they already own the full legitimate set and merely just buying it for spare parts?

Also my purchase was a mistake and now my bootlegs will be replaced with the originals when I can get em. I don't like having bootlegs in my collection but I was suckered in by the price.

Accidents or extra accessories is an ok reason even though most have said the weapons are crap compared to the real deal. But a lot on here have voiced how this is better cause the real ones are too high priced but then say hope we get shredder and casey Jones in a next wave. I'm saying there will be no wave two if you don't buy the real deal first at least. So don't cry like when we didn't get wave 2 of neca turtles it won't happen buying bootlegs. Poor sales no wave two and when bbts and a few over seas stores are sitting on turtles then no call for more is going in so revoltech will look to continue other lines that continue to sell out like iron man and toy Story.

The odds of Revoltech doing a wave 2 PERIOD is slim to none, regardless of sales. So don't get your knickers in a twist & throw shade at people who don't wanna put $300 into a BBTS order.

You act as if the legitimate ones are widely available at retail cost. Guess what, they're not. & thus, sales are not being significantly impacted.

If they were out at a retail price they would look like playmates which everyone claims have terrible paint and articulation and revoltech has done waves for other lines before so thats not too far fetched. Everyone wants to be cheap but get mad when you get what you paid for. You want a ten dollar toy don't be mad when it's just a plastic hunk you want a forty dollar toy you get a better made product. I don't buy a sirloin and get pissed it's not as tender as a filet. I ordered mine the second they were announced from a overseas company and got mine for 35 each real deal revoltech now people are paying 40 for bootlegs it's sad but you snooze you lose then you have to pay bbts high price for the real.
