Just to add to your comment, to make an equivalent example of just how obscure Ace Duck is, it would be like Nick TMNT making an action figure from a character of Space Heroes, if that show was only shown once throughout the entire Nick series.

Nah, Ace Duck's cool. I always did wonder why he never had a true appearance in any of the shows. I theorize that it might be that because back in the late 80s/early 90s, for some reason, cartoons were obsessed with ducks. Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Count Duckula, a sports team/movie called the Mighty Ducks... the list goes on. Maybe they were afraid that their duck character would be lost in a sea of similar characters?

Spare me the excruciating pain, and this isn't the place for it.

We're talking about Ace Duck here, see? Which is far more appealing than Venus tbh.

I honestly think people hate Ace Duck because he doesn't look like a TMNT character. As said he was created as a response to the popularity of Disney's duck characters in the 80's like Scrooge Mcduck, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, etc.

Literally half the Disney cartoons in the 80's had a goddamn duck character.

Nah, I bet a tun of people are suffering from anatidaephobia and taking it out on poor Ace! I got bit by one of the little jerks as a kid and turned out okay. Folks need to be showing our fine feathered friend some love. Do they really want a grenade flinging duck angry at them?

I like ducks, if they are Pekinged or smothered in an orange sauce. Plus their fat is good in pastries.

I always thought Ace was one of the cooler figures, whether he was on the show or not. I know my 2 nephews who were young enough to play with the toys back then both loved him as a figure.

I was always thrown by Ace not seeing him much as a kid at all, but he is a cool figure with the wings and bomb belt and all

Who hates Ace Duck? OK, maybe he's not the most creative character ever, but I'd rather watch Ace Duck than any of the hundred, generic mad scientist characters.

I actually get a good laugh out of seeing Ace Duck get dumped on. Like someone else said, I had the action figure as a kid but otherwise had no idea who the hell he was, so I had no attachment to him.

I'm sure there are Marvel fans who also freak out when people dump on Howard the Duck, but again, I absolutely love it.

ace duck always confused me as a kid cause i never saw him in the cartoon (or remembered seeing his cameo). but i had his toy so i've always known who he was.
I am familliar with this feeling. When I got my hands on the list of toys from Playmates, I was imensily confused about many characters like Panda Khan, Fugitoid, Ace Duck and others. I thought that they were in some episodes of the OT, that I missed somehow, but I was wrong.

Ace Duck looks hilarious with the gun and grenades. It's quite sad that he never appeared in any episode of the OT. But on the other he could have been confused with many other duck characters at the time.

For whatever reason, he reminds me of Launchpad McQuack.

I also got the figure when it was new... and it was weird how he was the only character of the second wave to not get an episode. Krang was always in the show, it just took a while to release the figure. Genghis got his episode (with 3 other frogs). Baxter became a fly that same season. So um.... Ace Duck only got a cameo? And was that in season 2?

Not afraid to wield a gun, and a handful of granades. He is after all a mercenary, all while looking like a true pro with his leather jacket to let people know he is an ace pilot. Those wings aren't just for show either, he can fly as well as he could a plane.

http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/a...ceFileCard.jpg
Now, let's take a look at his origin, after Krang has basically made ducks extinct in Dimension X, he decides to beam one from earth since his hunger is not satisfied until he gets exactly what he wants. Ace Conrad, badass test pilot was about to be given the promotion he deserved based on his amazing skills, and on his last run he is never heard of again. That's because he fused with the duck and became ACE DUCK. He ends up in the turtles lair. He now decides to use his new body and badass skills to become a mercenary. He won't take jobs that hurt innocent people though and will usually end up teaming up with the turtles, as long as he's paid.

He was considered too violent by network standards of its time so the OT crew had to reduce his role in the show, in this version instead of being a gun for hire, he decides to act and becomes a famous tv/movie star. Despite being a mutant and all the prejudices. Like at everything, he becomes a top actor in record time.

What about Archie? A joke you say? Look at that badass over there, all beefed up and ready to fight. In here he is an intergalactic wrestler who has won all the top titles of the GALAXY and defended them against creatures all over the turtles multiverse, you have to remember Cudley the cowlick brings the top contenders from the multiverse, not even the Battle Nexus can compare, that sh-t is like the little leagues compared to it. In just one panel he quickly manhandles Leatherhead as if he were nothing. This ain't no WWE/UFC sh-t, he would make Lesnar tap out in seconds.

Since Playmates or any toy company could not handle making a new Ace Duck figure that would be accurate at all, You'll find only customs which you'll find plenty of can attempt to replicate a glimpse of him in plastic form.

Ace Duck's legacy continues to live on through fans hearts, with constant fanfics and art, since not even the gritty Mirage universe would be able to handle him.

Nick's Shredder was a fool not to attempt at getting his version of Ace Duck, then again what more can we expect from him, he can have fun with spyderbytes or whatever Jar Jar Binks knock off he chooses instead.
I know what you mean, but if they did bring him back. I'd think he be cooler.

I don't really think Ace Duck is hated, it's just that Ducks are considered to be funny animals and you think of characters like Donald Duck when you think anthropomorphic ducks. He's just really to make fun of that's all.

Here's an Ace Duck piece by Ben Bates.

Well- they WERE both pilots, and look a lot alike in design. Suddenly, I think Launchpad might have been the main reason he never got an episode- I doubt FW would have wanted the headaches a lawsuit from Disney over character copyright would have caused.

Ace Duck was a figure I wanted as a kid, but never got. I loved how he looked, in my own little head canon of TMNT using various figures from different generations of the Turtles, I actually pair him off with Tiger Claw, in an alternate World War 2 history, mind you the characters are considered merely comic book and movie characters in the modern TMNT world, due to history and governments hiding the existence of Mutants.
