And, just to be clear, issue #50 is the grand finale of a long-running story-line and NOT the end of our series — we’ll be back the very next month with issue #51 and we’ll keep on doing this as long as our awesome fans keep supporting our work.
Best part of the interview! Yay, no renumbering!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that Tom never actually used the word "dead". So I'm still assuming Donnie is hanging by a thread.

Either way, whether he's resurrected or just magically/radically healed, I trust IDW to restore Donnie to full health in good time.

And until then, my avatar honors the fallen. Never forget. I demand retribution against his attackers!!!

I've heard rumblings already of a second printing, and a cover that's... well, a bit spoilerish. Anyone confirm?

Solid issue. Bebop and Rocksteady are fantastic grunt villains.

Even without seeing the FCBD spoiler, why does everyone assume Donatello is dead on these news websites and comic book review sites? I've seen headlines, "The death of a Turtle" and I'm kinda confused. They never actually said he was dead in the issue...

Yes because those websites are not honest. They just follow the buzz.

Did they do the same thing when Shredder impaled Casey a year or two ago? I remember seeing "Shredder killed Casey" or something along those lines when it happened.

Holy crap...

Before I launch into my fangirlish squealing, just a quick note on the "why do all the websites assume he's dead?" thing; I assumed he was, due to Nobody & Alopex saying they'd done everything they could, but were too late. To me that says he's dead; they tried to revive him but no dice. I'm trying really hard to avoid spoilers so I've no idea if he actually is gone, but regardless I'm sure he won't be gone long.

Onto the fangirling; WHAT AN ISSUE. I cried, of course, but what surprised me is that I cried the second time I read it too. Donatello always has been, and always will be, my favourite Turtle, and so it's a testament to the creative team that not only did I love this issue, but I'm actually really excited to see where they go from here. The issue was executed so well, drawn so stunningly and coloured brilliantly (the progressively redder backgrounds as Donnie took the beating kinda broke me) and it didn't feel like a cheap shock tactic money maker plot. It fit within the story; there's no way the Turtles and co. could face what they were facing and come out unscathed. Oof, this hurts to even talk about!

Long story short; cor, that was good, eh?!

A non-Donnie related thought that popped into my mind last night after re-reading the issue:

I can totally picture the Fugitoid delivering Krang to the Neutrinos and saying "Yep. I did it. I captured Krang, it was aaall me!", and then while Splinter and the rest of the family are mourning over Donnie, the Fugitoid is chillin' with a couple of Neutrino chicks and being hailed as the mighty vanquisher of General Krang.

I wouldn't be surprised at this point. Apparently it's just sold out everywhere and everyone is losing their mind trying to get a copy.
Where was that brought up? Becaaaaause I would love a super emotional tribute cover to Donnie. ;_;

As long as there's no variant cover by Milo Manara... His take on Bebop and Rocksteady would break the Internet!

I'd think Fugitoid hanging with Neutrino girls wouldn't be fun for him since he's lost the ability to enjoy them (assuming Neutrinos function more or less like humans since they look so similar)
