I don't think there was ever any question Don would live. It's the same as when Superman supposedly died... Or Batman, Spiderman, Deadpool, etc... Awareness of the medium prevents belief in major shifts like that being permanent.

Besides, Don was the only survivor in the future issue, and there's little reason to think the turtles have managed to avoid that outcome just yet.

Wow!!! What an intense issue, I was shaking and I could not put it down, I was so into it. I loved it and wished it had more pages. I read it 3 times before I went to bed last night.

So Donnie is inbetween Life and Death and his Mum is here.

Thank god that the Fugitoid came in at the right time.

Donnie is ALIVE!!!!!!!!! but just barely, he has a weak pulse.

The Fugitoid is going to save him.

Splinter goes to meditate, so he can help Donnie.

Seems to be getting intense in the Footclan and Karai is pissed.

The Purple Dragons are back and they are smashing up a store until Casey stops them.

Oh no!!! Hun has been seen going into April’s and Casey’s place, I hope he’s not going smash the place up and burn it to the ground.

Donnie and his Mum talking, she seems to be guiding him on which route to choose.

The Turtles, Angel and Alopex are sitting outside the cooler, waiting to here about Donnie.

My heart!!!! Mikey is sitting by the cooler door and saying “Please God, Please”

Raph loses his temper and Mikey has a go at him and Raph ends up punching a metal beam and leaves and Alopex goes after him.

Shredder wakes up at Baxter’s place and they going to join forces to destroy the turtles and Splinter.

OH WOW!!!!! I love the double page spread on Donnie and his mother and Splinter arriving to take Donnie home.

So I wonder his mother was just stalling him so Splinter can get to him to take him back.

Donnie wakes up, INSIDE METALHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!

So The Fugitoid, transfered his brain/soul or something into Metalhead, to keep him alive and hopefully they will fix his body.

Brilliant Issue, I can’t wait for the next one.

Stockmans back. That's good. He can be a viable villain now with ties to the foot, I've only waited three years to see that.
Hun is acting alone...that's odd. Maybe he figures shredder is done so he doesn't owe the foot anything.

I interpreted Tang Shen as primarily there to delay Don from just walking into the light, to at least offer him a choice of sorts. Once Splinter was there her purpose was done.

This issue was not so good because it didnt have enough action. But finaly Stoclman is working for me again!

I dunno if anyone else realized this, but I figured out that the reason the covers for this arc have those red sections on them.

That's how Metalhead/Donnie sees!!

As for the title, I don't think it's been officially confirmed but most people (myself included) seem to be believe it's called Vengeance because of the title of the FCBD issue and have been naming the arc as such for quite a while. IDW might as well go with it.

FCBD doesn't have a printed title in it. It just says FCBD 2015 on the cover

The issue was very emotional for me. I actually cried while I was reading it on the iPad. I could never imagine that I could be so touched.

I've seen it called Prelude to Vengeance somewhere, so I went with it. Can't say I remember the cover as I was more looking for spoilers inside.

I'll confess, I really was pondering why two flybots were giving him pause. Guess he's in pretty bad shape. That or he really sees the benefit of teaming up with Stockman.

Can I just say that I loved how Donatello's life was saved by a combination of spiritual guidance and extraterrestrial super-science? It's really indicative of how well Waltz and Curnow have been toeing the line between the supernatural and the technological, and how they might be fundamentally the same thing. I loved the irony of Fugitoid talking to Donnie about the scientific basis for the soul during the Krang War arc, then being forced to put that theory into practice with Donnie himself to save his life. Brilliant bit of foreshadowing there.

I also loved the bit with Casey getting some licks in on the Purple Dragons. It was great seeing his return to fighting form. If I was a more prideful person, I'd almost think it was a direct response to the recent grumblings of some Technodrome members! I definitely prefer to see him dealing out punishment than having it dealt on him too much.

Well, he has had a history of bad luck going up against tech-based opponents... Robots and cyborgs and exo-suits are an unknown quantity to him, as opposed to ninjas and mutants. Maybe that's his rationale as he sizes up the flybots.

I think it's more a case of Shredder seeing that Stockman has resources... resources that Shredder can use to hunt down the Hamato Clan.

Vengeance before all else, in Shredder's mind.

But man, Stockman has balls of titanium standing up to Shredder like that! It would seem he's learned a few things since vomiting on General Krang's boots...
