I noticed that he has a GI haircut. Maybe in the film he will be a former soldier. I would not be surprised if they rewrote the origins of the character.

Casey without the long hair doesn't bother me and anyway men who had long hair was a bit of a fashion trend back in the 80s/90s but not now.

No, just not a huge deal. Now if he wasn't going to have a hockey mask THAT would be a big deal.

Personally I'd rather not have long hair if I'm going to be street fighting anyways lol.

Actually, it kind of takes someone legit to actually pull off having long hair, IF they're the type to get in lots of scraps. Sure, people go for it and it's an easy target. That's no excuse to lose a fight, though; not if you know what you're doing. In my experience, a lot guys who go for the hair in the first second usually don't protect their throat. I can easily handle getting my hair yanked on for a second or two, if it gives me a good chance to squeeze their windpipe shut. Who do you think lets go first in that situation? It's really not that big a deal. For a guy like Casey, especially, having long hair wouldn't be a problem. What kind of pansy can't handle getting their hair yanked, anyways? Especially if you yourself have a baseball bat.

Also, historically and statistically, males with long hair have generally been considered more masculine, more virile, and more desirable to women. Not the last few decades, and not so much in America, but over the majority of history, in the majority of the world, having long hair has often been considered a sign of a "Real Man". So yeah, Casey having long hair feels more "right" for his character, and even though it's not the biggest deal, I don't see a reason to change it. Just the director's personal preferences usurping what the majority of fans expect or prefer to see. No big deal, but not worth changing either, in my opinion.

I don't like it because it doesn't have a dark feel to it. Casey is supposed to be dark and gritty.

Well I doubt this movie is going to be dark and gritty anyway.

Also your judging a pre production photo, you haven't even seen him fight yet so you need to wait for the trailers or even the movie before you judge, he could end up being a badass fighter.
