Why did Krang's body have a human skin tone?

Maybe it's a silly question but it has bugged me since I started to think about it. Why did Krang give his robotic body a human skin tone? In fact the human/inhuman elements seems to be off balance in general.

With the Utroms they ran around in metal skeletons that could have a fake human skin put on, sor of like the terminator. So they could either look just like humans or simply just robots. Krang's body on the other hand has a human skin tone, a mouth, a nose, cheek bones and a chin, but it looks way too bizarre to pass for human. The arms are too short, the head has a weird pointy look with an antenna, lines across the joints and sides of the limbs, some strange three-sectioned chest, no defined neck and of course the gaping cockpit.

One wonders why he didn't just ignore the pointless humanoid details.

Nostalgia Critic said it best in his review of the first season a few years back. It was like a weird cross between different 80s icons. Interestingly Angry Video Game Nerd pointed out that in the series finale we see a creature who looks just like it, so it's possible the android body was simply based on whatever that creature might've been.

But was that a biological creature or a robot?

Also, it must be noted that "Divide and Conquer" had a number of continuity issues:

- The Technodrome is shown atop a hill even though it was last seen in the maw of a massive pit beast.

- The portal is shown to be functional, yet Shredder and Krang needed Dregg to return to Earth.

- The enlarging chip in Krang's android body was shown to have a time limit, after which time the body would automatically shrink and then explode, which did not seem to be the case back in Season 1 or in Turtles in Time.

It's possible the creature spit it out back to the surface. It had new inhabitants so maybe they had more resources to available to them in Dimension X compared to Shredder and Krang. Shredder and co. could've escaped to another part of Dimension X via the portal as well. If they could transport it to Balaraphon, then this is possible.

-Again, the aliens' resources could've repaired things more easily than Krang and Shredder.

-Donatello destroyed the original chip back in "Shredder and Splintered" and Krang put in a new chip for "Krangnstein lives". One odd point is is only exploded in that episode due to the explosive Michaelangelo threw in there. It shouldn't have exploded when it shrunk holding Dregg.

It is not the only robot who have some human elemtns In other tv shows/movies we also see robots that have some human elemtns like faces for example. But what is more strange about krang robot body is that it is not only his face that had human elements but the whole body of the robot. That why it was wearing a underwear and boots.

Maybe Krang, being new to earth & the human race, designed it that way thinking he could fool people into believing he was one of them.

I assume it was based on the creature in Divide and Conquer, which looked like a fearsome creature and perhaps he wanted his android body to be based on the appearance of that creature to create more fear among the populace.

I always kind of figured it was just a callback to the Utroms, but camped up to suit the aesthetic of the show.

But that's not a funny in-show explanation that we can endlessly speculate about and never get a proper answer.

Oh. Point.
Um...hmm,

He was trying to look like Norm from Cheers, his favorite sit-com from the 80s.
NO! Bull the Bailiff from Night Court.

It always creeped me out when it would yell and make noises and facial expressions.
I was starting to ponder if his body wasn't in fact human parts.
But then I remember all the times the turtles went inside of the body and it was all gears and wires.
So there goes that idea.
The entire creation of the body was very Frankensteins monster though.

I always wondered how his body made facial expressions and noises. Well Krang is controlling it with equipment and tools so it's not impossible, but why would he do that and for what purpose? I also remember his android body sneezing which was weird. Did it have a mind of it's own? How can a robot sneeze?

It would make facial expressions but most of the time it was this expression.

-_-

Yeah, I've noticed that in a few episodes of the OT, such as in "Shredder is Splintered" when the body's first introduced. There's also an episode in Season 3 where Krang sneezes from some dust being blown, and his android body sneezes too! xD

I like to think that Krang wanted it to look flawlessly human, but Shredder is a shoddy craftsman.

or simply was a mischief ninja master and designed the body exactly like this out of spite for Krang. Lol.

I blame Krang's unhealthy obsession with King Kong Bundy.

I forgot which episode that was but yes it was kind of funny seeing a robot body sneeze. xD

I sometimes wonder if it's bio mechanical meaning there's some kind of biology in involved in it, rather than it being totally mechanical. An android by definition is a robot designed to look and act like a human. There are times where his tentacles weren't even touching his controls, yet the body was moving and I also found it strange that they needed massive amounts of electricity to power it and make it alive. What, it doesn't have an ON switch or something? xD
