Maybe, hard to guess what if they are. Hmm. Though it's also possible they could just be random old retired plates. Some people collect them, so wouldn't be hard to find a few to use.

To be cynical, if they'd put in an easter egg I'd have a hard time believing these film makers would go for something that isn't obvious.

Edit: Because I was nosy, a NY DMV site to look up/order license plate numbers shows both visible plates are available. Sooo... maybe retired or entirely fake not from the DMV? If they'd ordered them that way they might not show as being available? (But if any New York residents want those plates, well there ya go. lol)

Ya gotta kinda wonder how the Turtles replace the light bulbs on their vesicles, since most people only throw out dead ones. lol

Raph can throw his sai right through a metal pole?

The more I see Arnell as Jones, the less I like it, and I used to hate the idea.

I will say that Megan looks like she's in better shape for this one. I'll give her props for that.

The Hulk with a carapace throwing a truncheon weapon through a metal pole. I'd believe that, the Shell-Hulk can total wreck a humvee without breaking a sweat and his punier Hulk brother can throw a shipping container several feet off the ground with a pogo stick.

I bet PD Raph can cut through steel plates with a baton.

Had it been a shuriken, either a bo-shuriken or a hira shuriken would have been more plausible, cause at least shuriken said are piercing weapons. It's far fetched, but less far fetched doing it with a Sai, which is a blunt weapon for bludgeoning you enemies.

its a street sign with holes pre-cut running down the length of the pole. in other photos, the sai was directly in those holes - so less strength, and more technique/finesse/shot placement - which I realize is unbelievable, but then again Raph was the guy who removed ALL the bells from the mannequin, and not one of them made a sound.

Still stupid no matter how you rationalize it.

having the skill to throw a weapon with any kind of precision isnt stupid.

the other comments suggested it was all strength, and I was simply stating that there are pre-existing holes in the pole, in which a well placed throw could lodge something in one of those openings.

Hah, didn't notice that. That's a bit more plausible the Sai do have a secondary usage as a throwing weapon, hence why at least in China, the sai is often carried in threes (iirc), as the extra could be used for throwing while still having a active pair in hand.

That's fair, and definitely more plausible, but the implication is too over the top.
He's just that good. It's lame, and groan worthy.

personally I'm hoping its a 'lucky shot'-type of situation where the sai narrowly misses Casey, and Raph says something like ... "I was aiming for your head..."

Right, sure. Personally I'm hoping this film tanks an there's a reboot.

That's what I was kind of figuring, and one of those moments that's just a random perfect shot you'd never repeat. I hope.

for better or worse, I think we both know that's not happening.

hypothetically speaking, if this tanks financially - I don't think Nick/Paramount would reboot it for several years.

maybe in that time, an indie director could come in, and make another film as a passion project, but I wouldn't count on that either.

Wouldn't put it past Disney to try and acquire it.

I think it's actually only a matter of time.
