I do agree maybe in this version having the Turtles individually talking to Donnie. It saves the scene being too crowded. In the 2k3 having everyone around Leo worked because he was on deaths door step, so as much as they wanted him to wake up. They also wanted to be there in case he passed on as well. I can imagine once Karai's venom was gone Donnie's condition would be stable so he would less likely to die. But if he returned to them it would be up to him. Maybe Casey or Mikey suggests placing Donnie in the tub like they did with Leo and Splinter says they should just let him rest for now. Raph's memory should be how he got that chip in his shell as that would be an appropriate moment to bring it up. He also would be the most reluctant to talk with Donnie thinking that talking to someone who is unconscious is stupid. We don't even see him talking to Leo, he just sits with him, but very little talking is done. He would be last as well giving the moment Donnie wakes up have an emotional impact. Mikey would initiate it however since he's the care giver of the group, and he'd do anything to make sure his unconscious brother knew they were all there. Leo I don't know if he's say he failed his brother, but certainly he would express that he feels lost without him or something along those lines. Casey would apologize for being a jerk to him about April. April would thank him for always being there for her, (maybe saying how she feels about him) Splinter I can see remembering moments from Donnie's child hood or maybe a moment where Donnie comes to him and asks why the Bo staff chose him and Splinter replies "That is a journey you need to make on your own." Or maybe one point where Donnie is expressing frustration about how his brothers are all excelling at their training but he feels like he's struggling. And Splinter implies that he's trying to hard to be like his brothers...when really he should consider who he is personally. Donnie is confuse by this and says he's a Ninja, but Splinter says that even ninja come in different types. For Karai in the mean time, she is looking at the photo of her as a baby, and flashes back to Shredder telling her "Have you forgotten what Hamato Yoshi did to me...to us?" And the memories of Splinter telling her the story of what really caused her mothers death. And then finally she remembers Leo telling her a worm is controlling her. The conflicting emotions causes her to throw up the parasite and she squishes it in horrified disgust. Shredder opens the door to her room and so she quickly stashes the photo so he won't see it and feigns that she is still under the mind control. But as soon as he leaves she feels a tremendous since of guilt for what she has done to her true family and knows that once the Shredder knows she isn't under his control any longer he would likely kill her. And later once she's free she will apologize to all of them for what she has done. And then she would likely say that she needs to go out and discover who she is as a person, because while the Shredder can't control her any longer his influence is still there. She needs to discover who she is as a person and not what the Shredder made her into. Leo isn't happy about this as this means losing her again. Splinter however understands and tells her there will be a place for her when she feels she is ready to return. Last edited by victory_angel; 05-21-2015 at 12:02 PM. |

And alternative story that can still fit the context of a tales of situation is have the whole set up from post 298 on this thread.
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/sho...&postcount=298 However Donnie's not poisoned by Karai, he's just rendered unconscious and seriously wounded. Karai has him taken prisoner, but the situation is to harry for the Turtles to do anything but take April and Kirby and retreat to the lair. Raph is upset at Leo about forcing abandoning their brother. Leo insists he had no choice, it was either lose Donnie or lose everyone. Kirby tells April they are going home. April however says "No, I'm staying here. Donnie is my friend and I can't just leave him." Splinter also says staying with them would be a good idea. Before they can come up with a plan on how to get Donnie back Foot Bots and Karai attack the lair. Karai says that she had hoped it didn't have to come to something as boring as this. The Turtles and company try to defend their home, but Karai has trouble bringing her self to kill Splinter. The Turtles get splinter, April, and Kirby all hop into the Party Wagon and escape. Raph is upset that they are abandoning their home. Mikey wonders if Donnie is already dead since Karai attacked them. April says she senses Donnie is still alive...at least for now Leo states that Karai only sees them as a means to getting to Splinter. But Splinter feels that there is something in Karai that is breaking free and that may aid in Donatello's survival. Karai finds the photo of Hamato Yoshi with her as a baby and that effects her reemerging memories. She at first looks as though she is going to destroy the photo, but instead tucks it away to deal with it later. Maybe she also finds a journal and flips through it, finding sketches of the Turtles growing up. (after all the only photo's they have are as they are currently, hinting that photos came after April) They also find timothy and think he could be useful to the Shredder. Back at the Foot Headquarters, Stockman is tormenting Donnie about his predicament, maybe Rocksteady and Bebop as well. Shredder demands Karai tell him about why she brought the Turtle there. She tells her father that the other turtles would eventually come for their missing brother. So she needs them alive for that. And once she has all four Turtles and their human friends, she would kill them one by one letting Splinter suffer as he watches each member of his family die before his eyes. Shredder is somewhat suspicious but does see the logic in that. Karai sit in her room looking at the photo of her family. Echo of Leo telling her She needs to know the truth about her real father and that the Shredder has been lying to her, her entire life. Confused she goes to have a private talk with Donnie and asks him about what sort of person Splinter was. Though she does point out he shouldn't expect her to believe him...after all if he'd say anything to defend Splinter. Donnie simply says he has nothing to gain by lying to her...and it's up to her if she wants to believe. Donnie explains some childhood memories such as receiving his name, receiving his weapon. Karai maybe scoffs at that weapon origin memory and suggests perhaps even Splinter could see he was the weakest of the bunch. Why else would he give one of his sons a pacifists weapon? Donnie just shrugs and says that their weapon wasn't given to them...their weapon chose them. He then points out that April's iron fan was originally meant to go to Splinter's infant daughter when she came of age. Karai gets frustrated because this isn't the man she pictured killing her mother. She then scoffs and says he tells a convincing story...to bad none of it was true. As she leaves Donnie imparts that Splinter never forgot about her...and that he missed being able to watch her grow and become a Kunoichi. Karai just tells him he doesn't know what he's talking about and if he tells her one more lie, she would personally cut out his tongue. Unbeknownst to her Shredder is watching. At the farm house Leo questions Splinter if he was letting his brother down by bringing everyone here instead of finding someway to get him back. Splinter tells Leo that he did what he felt was best for his family, and sometimes the best decisions are painful. But allowing themselves to be captured would be a disservice to their brother. Instead they must recover themselves and have faith that he would be able to endure and return to them. Everyone remembers memories of Donatello growing up each means something to them. Mikey a memory of when Donnie had been there for him. Leo a memory of time where Donnie had been helpful Raph a memory of regret. April and Casey might also have their memories. Kirby might still have his reservations about April's involvement with the Turtles, but he does seem to really grasp that they have his daughters best interests as heart. As the same time while Splinter and everyone else is giving their memories, Karai is reading them in the journal. She reads it as a way to understand her enemy and his motives. And also to pacify any doubts she has which only makes her doubt the Shredder more. This causes her to throw up the parasite and squish it horrified disgust. Shredder comes in to her room causing her to hurriedly hide the photo and the journal. She feigns that she is under his control and makes a supposedly convincing show of it. However as soon as he's gone, she goes out and makes her way to Baxters lab to free Donnie and get him out of there. Shredder catches her and calls her a disappointment. Karai is angry with him and says everything he's ever told her was a lie, to make her see her father and brothers were the enemy. Shredder says he had hoped she would see reason, but now he sees she will have to suffer with the Turtles and has both Donnie and Karai imprisoned. |

As a thought - but particularly if following from a scenario like this, would Shredder ever lose faith in Karai returning to him so greatly he would actively kill her?
I'm just thinking that by this point he's already imprisoned her once, tried to reason with her, semi retromutated her, and now mind controlled her. If she breaks free again, particularly whilst betraying him in a way like you suggest (by freeing Donnie for instance), would he simply decide that enough is enough - that if he cant have her as a daughter Splinter certainly wont. I'm just wondering because I can imagine that scenario especially ending with Karai confronting a bitterly disappointed Shredder, only for him to literally cut her down in a shock ending.

As you have pointed out he has raised her and manipulated her her whole life. When he learned She discovered the truth he imprisoned her. He has tried to reason with her, to make her see that he only had her best interests as he sees them. When she was rescued he banked on her returning to him out of vengeance. Unintentionally mutated her when he was trying to double mutate Leo. Restored her humanity...sort of and Mind controlled her into following him. There isn't much he can do beyond that. I could see him telling Karai to slay Donnie or whoever as proof of her loyalty to him. Karai however could turn the ultimatum and sacrifice herself to the Shredder and say she would willingly be his daughter if he let Donatello go free and he stop this vendetta against Splinter. Shredder however is too invested in his desires for vengeance to agree to such a promise so he feels he has no choice but to end her existence. So in other words, if he can't have her...no one will. |

Donnie said in Metalhead Rewired that he would recreate metal head again someday. And the recent arc with IDW has Donnie left mortally wounded. In an effort to prolong Donatello's survival, Professor Honeycutt (Aka the Fugitoid) downloads Donatello's consciousness into metalhead.
So maybe something like that here. We are given a situation roughly in season 4 or five where Donatello is wounded and believed to be dead. The Fugitoid however is able to detect a faint hint of life and transfers Donnie's consciousness to the new version of Metalhead that Donnie had been building. |

Personally I would prefer a wounded Mikey over Don. Leo and Raph already got injured before (Leo in 2k12, and 2k3, Raph in the movies. And they were the most injured in cousin Sid) Don and Mikey weren't that injured but with Don's latest story in the comics, I think Mikey deserves a time. Though I don't really mind if it turned out to be Don. cause they are both the little brothers.

In every incarnation that the Fugitoid has always had a beneficial relationship with Don. Both as someone Donnie can relate to in science field and as a pacifist. And also as a mentor figure Donnie can turn to and learn from. In this incarnation it looks like the Fugitoid would be getting a lot more involved in battles as he does have weapons he uses to help the Turtles stop the Triceratons. He also maybe be helpful in helping April discover she is a Neutrino. And in helping Don discover and adapt to being a pacifist himself. Generally Professor Honeycutt is a ghost in a machine as he is often destroyed on accident, but is fortuitously able to merge with his android assistant. The reason I think this situation should occur with Don is that when he initially created Metalhead, it was meant to be substitute for him in battle. And in the second season Metalhead did serve as a robo assistant for Donnie. So it would make sense to have Donnie building Metalhead 2.0 but end up having his consciousness loaded into it. This could either be done accidentally such as April trying to control her powers and having them having them give a sudden blast (Ala eyes of the Chimera situation.) Donnie is hit by blast and loses consciousness. April and everyone else freaks out because he's not responding or waking up. Donnie in the meantime awakens in the body of Metalhead 2.0. and begins to freak out about that. Causing everyone to realize that Donnie's consciousness must have transferred to Metalhead and they turn the Fugitoid to return their brother back to his body again. The other situation is if it deliberately done to save Donnie's life or the life of one of the Turtles. So yes it's possible they could have a situation where Donnie or Mikey is seriously wounded. In the case of Donnie I am assuming that Rockwell is the Harold of this series as Rockwell and Don are both intellectual rivals and friends. And both Donnie and Harold are intellectual rivals who are also on friendly terms. So if Donnie is seriously wounded to the point where not even the healing hands thing that Leo and Splinter can do is able to save him. I can see Fugitoid choosing to download Donnie's consciousness into the convenient spare body of metalhead. However if it's Mikey who is seriously wounded, I can see Donnie offering to do whatever it takes to save his only little brother. And they could download Mikey's consciousness into Metalhead while Donnie helps make sure Mikey's body remains alive while it recovers from it's injuries. |

A few months ago I speculated about how Leo is shown losing his swords in Return to New York and how that can be foreshadowing the loss of Donnie and Raph.
We know we are going to get a Tokka at some point, also the Turtles are going to return to Northhampton at some point soon. We have three New Episodes coming up before San Diego Comic Con, The first is Turtles in Time where Renet is introduced and takes the Turtles with her to fight Savantei Ramero. The next episode is called Legend of the Yokai, in this episode the Turtles are sent to the past to encounter Oroku Saki before he became the Shredder. (and possibly set him on the path to becoming Shredder, unintentionally of course) And the final episode is Mega Shredder. All we know about this episode is that Leo goes to face the Shredder alone. So given what the Shredder has done with Karai, forced Karai to do to his brothers, and the events of Legend of the Yokai. Leo probably feels that Shredder has terrorized his family long enough and decides to take matters into his own hands and defeat Shredder once and for all. The others realize what he's up to and rush to stop him, because if he acts on his own the only thing that would happen is that he would be killed. And they don't want to nearly lose him again. (Perhaps Karai attacks the lair driving the Turtles and Splinter out into the open.) They arrive to help and see Leo about to be struck a serious blow. Donnie pushes Leo out of the way taking the blow himself, Raph sees this and becomes enraged and fights the Shredder head on. During the fight, Raph is knocked into the mutagen and double mutated into Tokka as he's being mutated we see clips of memories fading away as his mind becomes more and more savage and feral. The Turtles are forced to retreat with April, Casey, and Splinter to the farm house as Donnie's injuries are serious and if they aren't tended to they could lose him. Raph in the mean time is secured and mind controlled into obeying the Shredder and given the name Tokka. In the ride to North Hampton, Mikey or Casey asks about what they are going to do about Raph. Leo says the only thing they can do. Splinter tells his son's that Donatello needs a chance to recover first. April probably mentions that Karai and Raph know where the Lair is, they probably are destroying Donnie's lab as they speak. Mikey then mentions he conveniently grabbed the Retromutagen that Donnie had been working on, just in case they were driven out of the city. In the mean time Karai and Tokka get to the lair with the intent on destroying it. Tokka starts destroying the lab when he sees the photo wall in there and wonders why everyone in it looks familiar. Karai on the other hand goes to the Dojo and finds the family picture with herself as a baby. She first looks like she is going to destroy the photo, but then instead tucks it beneath her armor. Before she starts destroying everything else. |

How about this> Shredder is pressed into deciding that the path to victory now lies in mutating himself. (Perhaps he actually loses a fight with Leonardo and is forced to withdraw. The shame and bitterness pushes him to make the choice.) He wants more control over his own mutation and has Baxter prepare a specially made mutagen that would retain his human form but massively increase his strength and endurance. Baxter has, however, plans of his own and the serum he creates is deliberately sabotaged. Shredder, unaware of the treachery, lures the Turtles to a fight and mutates himself during it. The mutagen mutates Shredder to be stronger and faster but leaves him as a feral monster. The Turtles are forced to withdraw as Shredder takes to the city. Without Shredder as lynchpin, the Foot clan effectively starts to come apart. Baxter escapes, Tigerclaw leaves with most of the mutants and Karai takes control of what little remains. She offers Leo the chance to lead the Foot with her. He refuses. Scorned, Karai chances across Raph. Raph has previously been scorned himself by Leo due to events prior (perhaps being forced to kill Slash/Tokka) and perhaps angry at how he was treated by Splinter following that confrontation. He offers to take the job. Karai is suspicious, but agrees. Raph becomes the new 'Shredder' beside Karai. Super shredder escapes and falls into the hands of the newly returned Kraang. Capturing him, they restore his mind, and agree to help him regain control of his clan in exchange for his help returning them to Earth.

I was thinking perhaps if Shredder were to be taken out, Karai would make it her mission to find him and restore him (in a scenario like this anyway). If she knew she couldnt do it alone - such as if the Foot's heavy hitters were to leave - I was thinking it was a likely scenario she would turn to Leo first to help. Possibly reasoning that a berserk Shredder is a threat to everyone, and better he be restored than left to run rampant. Leo would see it that Shredder is better dead, and knowing Karai's intent would refuse the offer.
An aggrieved Raph, on the other hand, might be willing to consider a brief alliance - though in his mind it would be to kill Shredder with Karai assisting.

Mega Shredder- Leo goes into the Shredder's lair alone. We don't have word that the Mutanimals, or Leo's bros are prisoners of the Shredder or effected by the Shredder in any way. So we have to assume that Leo is taking matters into his own hands and going to end the Shredder once an for all so he is no longer a cancer upon his family. The other turtles and Splinter realize what Leo is going to do and go after him knowing that the only thing that will happen is he gets himself killed. The others arrive and help fight the Foot Clan. During the fight, Donnie notices Leo is being over powered and is about to be delivered blow that could prove fatal. Not wanting a repeat of what happened to Leo during the Invasion, Donnie pushes Leo out of the way and takes the blow himself.
Future events with the Pulverizer. Pulverizer now works for the Shredder so he can destroy Donnie for betraying him along with the Turtles, as well as April and Casey. Donnie later tells his brothers he had taken Timothy on as a student that first time they met him. The others are shocked he would do this (Raph: Seriously, what were you thinking?!) Donnie says he knows Timothy is his responsibility and he will do what needs to be done. He eventually is forced to slay Timothy to save his family or reluctantly comes to the conclusion there is no hope for him. Or Donnie uses the retromutagen he made for Karai on Timothy instead hoping it could restore him and finally end this. Unfortunately it violently reacts to the the Mutagen that makes up Timothy's body destroying him. Donnie is distraught by this event because he's now responsible for a death. The others are concerned about Donnie as he is rather down about what happened. Splinter then tells sons that Donatello is going through an emotional change and it's best to let their brother have his space for now. Last shot ends with Donnie's bedroom, you see his bo staff and purple mask leaning against the wall and a note on the bed indicating that he has run away from home. |

I would love something to happen when leo decides to go alone to the Shredder, like he goes to the Shredder alone and his brothers needs to help him out, and eventually one of his little brothers get hurt because of his actions. (him going to the Shredder when it isn't really necessary)
I hope either Don or Mikey because those are the 'little brothers', it would be fun if it would be Don, because he was the guilty one in S2 final when Leo got hurt. |

Shredder is about to land a finishing blow on Leo when Donnie pushes Leo out of the way. Donnie stands before the Shredder Naginata drawn and says "Keep away from my brother!"
Shredder finds some amusement in the fact that Donnie wants to take him on and assumes he even has a chance. Everyone else is dealing with the rest of the Foot mutants and Karai volunteers to take care of him. As they fight Karai taunts Donatello about how weak he is as a fighter and that his skills are pathetic. And if he was part of the Foot Clan he would have been executed long ago after all the weak are meant to be crushed. In the battle the Shredder is sent falling into the mutagen everyone watches in stunned horror when he leaps out more monster then man but still with what shreds of humanity that he still has left. He knocks aside Splinter and tells him that he shall watch his sons fall one by one and prepares to slay Leo. Donnie see this and knocks Karai aside before he rushes to Leo and pushes him out of harms way taking the blow himself. The other Turtles and company are horrified at this. Leo, Raph, and Mikey, rush over to tend to and defend their fallen brother. Splinter attacks Shredder, April and Casey also rush to Donnie's side to see if he's alright, Karai jumps in front of them and tells April she still has a score to settle. April's eyes narrow as she says "So do I." She then proceeds to use her mind powers to bring forth Karai's suppressed memories of the Turtle during the brief time they had welcomed her as one of them, Splinter calling her his daughter. She however isn't able to bring forth all of Karai's memories before Tiger Claw attacks them. The turtles escape to the farm house so they can lick their wounds and regroup Karai puts on show to indicate where her loyalty is, declaring that the Turtle's, their friends, and master are to be apprehended. Stockman is to make efforts into restoring her father's humanity. Tiger Claw mentions to Shredder that he has some concerns about Karai's loyalty. But Shredder states he has full control over her life and her mind, so her loyalty is absolute. In reality when Karai is alone she struggles with the memories that April has dredged up and recalls Leo telling her a worm is controlling her. Last edited by victory_angel; 06-19-2015 at 09:31 PM. |

Good Genes Arc
How I think it could be done by Nick. The Turtles encounter a group of outbreak mutants. One of whom is a human who has become mutated in an encounter with them. During the battle, Donnie is stung by one of them. No one thinks anything of it and just assumes its a scratch. Later on Donnie starts showing signs things are not well. He's disoriented during training, and not all that focused on any projects that he's trying to do in the lab. He also starts getting a lot more irritable then normal. This quickly comes to the attention and concern of the other Turtles and family. Raph and Casey assume that Donnie working too hard in his lab. Leo assumes it's just a cold and insists that Donnie should just get some rest. Both Splinter and April sense this isn't a normal cold but particularly since it has gone on for several weeks and they have noticed he's running a rather high temperature. Mikey is the only one who feels something is seriously wrong with Donnie. While he is conveying this they hear Donatello scream out which turns into a feral sounding growl. The door to Donnie's bedroom flies off it's hinges an a large mutant turtle comes out of the room. Everyone readies their weapons ready to defend themselves from the beast. As it approaches Mikey stops everyone. April is also able to sense Donnie's presence is still there and agrees with Mikey. Casey gets clocked clear across the room when he foolishly attacks the creature. The creature is able to retain enough of his mind to realize he is too much of a danger to his family and runs out of the lair. Raph checks Donnie's room and finds their brother is missing. He angerly says what he's going to do to that creature for what it did to Donatello. Casey also wants another crack at that creature as well. April however says the creature was Donatello. This shocks everyone. Splinter tells his remaining children to go after their brother before he poses a danger to someone else or worse yet himself. Leo feels they should talk to the Mutanimals first because they are going to need some serious muscle with them. Dr. Rockwell examines the bandages that Donnie had on when the transformation occurred. He explains that the outbreak mutagen in Donnie blood stream is at war with his already mutated DNA. The illness Donnie was suffering from was likely a catalyst for the mutation to take place. Regretfully Rockwell says that it is likely he won't be able to cure him. In the mean time there are reports in the city about sightings of a large mutant Turtle. April is with Raphael and Casey in the party wagon, Slash and Leatherhead work together to taken Donatello down and force him into a containment unit Splinter is heart broken at seeing one of his sons trapped in the form of a Monster. April also has a hard time seeing Donatello in this condition and comments that she could feel him slowly slipping away from them. Mikey is devastated by this and begs Donnie to keep holding on, they would find a way to return him to normal. Leo agrees that they would do whatever it took, they owed him that much. The mutanimals are camped in the lair, Rockwell continues to try and find a cure without much success. And whats worse is he discovers Donnie's mutant cells are breaking down and if he isn't cured soon he would die in that form. Leo refuses to let that happen, but he's at a loss as to what should be done. April then remembers Donatello has said the outbreak mutagen was man-made. Perhaps the Bishop has the answers they are looking for. Bishop doesn't have a cure and demands to know why he should help them. The Turtles explain that the outbreak effects both humans and mutants alike. So if there isn't a way to cure their brother, they should at least work together to figure out a way to do so. Bishop agrees to this so long as April allows him an opportunity to study her DNA. Casey is confused by this and the Turtles are hesitant about allowing it. April agrees to it reluctantly telling them this could be their only chance to help Donnie. Rockwell looks over the notes taken and discovers what is needed to develop a cure. Casey asks April why Bishop wanted to study April's DNA. April tells him that she has Kraang DNA in her blood, that's why she has psychic powers. Casey is taken aback by this and astounded that the Turtles knew. April says it's not something she has really accepted. The cure is administered to Donatello and the rest of the city. Slash carries and unconscious Donatello from the EPF complex and places him in his fathers arms. As the Turtles take off in the party wagon. Donnie slowly regains consciousness earning him a hug from a relieved Mikey and even more relieved April. Everyone else is overjoyed to that Donatello is back to normal. Casey however is still upset that April hadn't been honest with him about being part alien as he drives everyone back to the city. Last edited by victory_angel; 07-08-2015 at 11:58 PM. |
