Could Karai be a good guy? :O

She is kind of a good guy in the Nick show, so I could see the movie doing that. But, Splinter was said to be a rat before mutation. Will she team up with the Turtles? Kinda doubt it because of the way she was in the first movie, but I don't know.

I'm actually kind of over morally ambiguous Karai. Honestly one of my favorite versions of Karai was the one from the 2007 movie. She joined the turtles out of necessity, not because she was unsure of where her alliances stood.

Don't count on it. This film won't have the screentime to show her transition away from Team Foot Clan to Team TMNT.

No point in character development because they'll probably just recast her again for the 3rd film.

Considering the stuff she's done and led the Foot in... Seems a bit late to suddenly be somehow struck with a better conscious, esp if she/they thought nothing of killing a random guy in the lab as an example of how bad the toxin is.

If that happens, well then she surely received brain damage when Raph slammed into her Hummer and caused a major change in personalty.

For a movie, I find her more interesting as a bad guy. (And probably easier for these film makers to handle... Keeps it simple.)

Doubt it. Karai won't be a significant part of the movie. If they've got Bebop and Rocksteady in it, she's kind of useless as a henchman... or henchwoman, in this case. Plus, she got her ass knocked to the ground in the last movie by Raph in one punch. She's not that great of an adversary for the Turtles in this series.

Hell, she doesn't have a NAME in this series. Not in the first movie, anyway. Just "that Asian chick with the pink hair." Why is such an awesome character reduced to... <trying to remember> ten lines of dialogue in the movie?

HUGE difference between the world of the PD Turtles and the Nick Turtles.
Since having a rat for a father might be a li'l....odd.....even for a show with mutagen 'n' stuff and there seriously isn't enough time for any character development (one of the problems if you try to stuff 5 movies into 1), she'll be just The Asian Gangsta Chick.
Best thing she can do with her screen time is try to out-hot Megan.

Pretty sure there are photos of Karai on set dressed as a reporter or cop, so I'm thinking she's going undercover to get at April. So, definitely not a good guy.

But shes actually a better actor then Minae though, They probably wanted someone with more acting chops, Meaning, that she will probably have more scenes.

That's a sh*tty excuse. They could have just kept Minae and given her more lines. I'm sure she would have been fine with that. The reason people probably thought Minae was so bad was because she didn't get to talk that much to really get to know her acting style. With this movie, they could have improved on that.

What if The Shredder from the 1st movie was Oroku Nagi, The new Shredder is his younger brother Oroku Saki, And Karai being the daughter of Oroku Nagi?

Then Karai would be Oroku Saki the new Shredder's niece.
