Only thing I took it for was Mikey teasing Donnie who didn't appreciate being teased about it.

Ultimately it's only purpose was to put Mikey in the position of saying he'd never have a crush...moments before Renet shows up.

Unpopular opinion: After all this, I hope not. They've had three seasons of this and if the show runners just decided to can that subplot because fans found it annoying, I'd be pissed. Resolve it in a mature and character-building way, please.

Moreover, I don't think that strong crush Donatello has would die this easily. I still think he has strong feelings - just somehow they're pushed back into the corner of his heart. Personally, I think there will be more issues and happenings with Donnie's crush. A conversation between April and him perhaps?

I took it to mean that Donnie has let it go in favor of more important things and now that things are calming down, Mikey is suggesting that Don's crush is still there.

I absolutely loved how Mikey kept his brothers away from Renet. I have only seen the episode once, but I seem to recall him butting Raph away from her a few times maybe. I know he was upset that Don was hugging her too.

I just love Mikey's straightforwardness toward her. That is just like him. Donnie should take a cue from him and do the same with April.

I know "Deadly Venom" aired a while ago, but that was just the episode before, and Donnie looked really freaking desperate to try and save her. Furthermore, I think it's crazy to assume this upcoming "Creeping" episode won't have any kind of Donnie/April scene during Donnie's little...predicament.

God, I wish they would have a conversation about it and move it forward or end it. When I watched that episode where April states that the pizza place was too crowded, she gives Casey an awkward look, but then she looks bashfully at him with a smile.

Either they did something when they were alone, or they are secretly together already. While I'd prefer that she chose Donnie instead of Casey, since Casey hit on Karai, I just wish they'd do something with it.

Well in a way, there was a moment. If you remember in "Vision Quest", there was a scene where Donnie was talking to Leo in the farmhouse about being worried about leaving April with Casey. And Leo basically telling him that he can't complete this refinement unless Donnie moves on. The look on Donnie's face is a look of admittance.

So technically, that would be the moment the writers can go back on where they say "This is where it ended."

Apparently, something is going to happen to Donnie where he will slowly lose his intelligence. Some people have brought up they will probably do a scene where Donnie's gotten so bad he wouldn't even know who April is. And could be the reigniting of more Apritello, because it looks like in the episode while the other turtles are trying to save N.Y. from the return of The Creep, it's possibly April who is going to help cure Donnie. And at the end, where this is the shot to April where she doesn't realize how important Donnie is until he wasn't himself anymore.

And yeah, I can see where those people could be right. I willing to wait until that episode before a stamp is put on this theory.

And no, Leo and Raph have been telling Donnie to get over it since it started. Why would that moment be any different?
It's not going to be over until Donnie says it or has a conversation with April- Oh wait, he did...and then she kissed him.
Sorry fellas, I don't see this officially ending any time soon. I just hope it gets less annoying. I actually like the notion of Donnie and April together, I just don't like how the show is going about it. But even with it being poorly portrayed, it doesn't really bother me or turn me off from the show.

True. Not sure he'd just get over it in that moment, but at the very least learn to stop obsessing beyond that point, which he sorta has seemed to.

The crush is still there. It's just that Donnie has matured in the relationship to focus on more important things. And accept that April will make a decision in her own time and he has to allow that to happen.

Leo didn't allow April to join them on the vision quest...not that she couldn't or wasn't benefit from it, but because Donnie would be too distracted by her if she did.

In Pig and Rino, Donnie did get an excited smile when Leo puts him and April on a team together.

During Deadly Venom, Donnie was trying to remain calm during the whole ordeal where April had been poisoned. And in the moment where Kirby is yelling at Donnie about his inability to save his daughter. Leo yell's "Calm down, both of you." As an indication that yes Donnie was stressed and becoming more so because of this situation.

And even this episode when Donnie is telling Leo "If I can't find a cure...we may need to let her go."

Leo makes the a statement of that is along the lines of saying "We can't give up on her." And he ends it by saying "You know this..." as a way of stating "You also have a girl in your life that you would want to protect at any cost...so your of all people would understand what I'm going through."

I personally felt that she had that awkward look because she's a 16-year-old girl surrounded by guys. She probably had her own space and room at the farmhouse. That wouldn't be the case there. Teens in close proximity of each other where it's obvious that at least one of them is crushing? Yup, that was my interpretation and the awkwardness is definitely understandable from both sides.

That aside, I don't get why people feel his crush is gone. It's been toned down a lot and only brought up full blast if the plot calls for it *coughs*Chinatownghoststory*coughs*, but just because Donnie isn't like how he was back in season 1 doesn't mean it's stopped. It just shows that he doesn't let himself get distracted by it anymore to the point where it's a problem. He's moved beyond the early stages of the crush.

Like most have said, it seems subdued and kept to a minimum to the most part. Which does make me pleased. Now I wish we can have April mak eup her goddamn mind and stop being such a tease between him and Casey.

But that's all up to the writers and what they think the audience wants to see more of.
