Splinter getting killed by Shredder? YES. JUST YES. That's AMAZING storytelling right there, and it gives the Turtles such an incentive to win. Now, instead of the city at loss, the whole world is at loss. This is brutal. However, I'm 50/50 with Splinter being killed as brutally in the show as in the book. I'm glad the Kraang aren't the main antagonists of the finale and the Triceratons are. It's nice to know that they're a force to be reckoned with. Bishop being an ally to the Turtles has me worried for one reason: what if he's not in control of the EPF? I want Bishop to be leading the anti-mutant task force in Season 4. You know, only using the Turtles in this finale as allies, but really, he will eliminate them once he gets the chance. I wonder who his voice actor is as well.

It sounds like we'll be getting the Utrom homeworld if we're getting Honeycutt. Maybe we'll be getting Mortu as well. I'm actually kinda glad that Casey and April are with them. I liked the dynamic between the 6 of them at the farmhouse.

But the main thing I wanna talk about is how wrong we were. A lot of people thought the finale would be Shredder getting defeated. Oh, we were so wrong. I'm so glad Shredder's not defeated now, but they NEED to play it right. With Splinter "dead" (let's be honest here, he'll be back.) it just makes the hatred the Turtles have for him much, much stronger. They need to play off on that. They missed their opportunity with the Leo one-shot, so I'm hoping that once they defeat the Triceratons, Shredder becomes their top priority.

EXACTLY my thoughts.

I can safely say that after reading the spoilers (curse you curiosity!), TMNT 2K12 has some of the best storytelling, and most threatening/powerful villains, I have ever seen in an action cartoon since Young Justice. I'm willing to bet Brandon Aumann must have had a huge part in these dark moments, since his work has shown that he can do suspense and a feeling of hopelessness well, also as seen earlier in the show. The crew themselves have done a fantastic job with this show!

THIS is what shows like Ultimate Spider-Man should have been. TMNT didn't waste its potential with lame antagonists or stories that went nowhere. It proves that you can do a successful kids show with loads of humorous moments and still not dumb down the writing to the point where it is "playing it safe". I hope TMNT continues to live up to the quality it has put forth for future seasons!

SAINW Doesn't count because it's technically an alternate universe and we never saw the death. Now his death is taking in the main story universe of the show.

We all know he's not going to remain dead, but the point is that the producers have the balls to do a story-arc that kills off a main character. That's not significant for a regular show, but keep in mind, this is on Nick.

Why does being in an alternate universe not matter? Regardless of not be able to see it take place, it still happened along with seeing his brothers die within the show. Not to mention that we also saw Hamato Yoshi kill Yukio Mashimi in "A Tale of Master Yoshi".

I would say USM's filler episodes were better. At least they featured classic comic book characters and not just made up ones the writers pull out of their ass.

Because this time we actually see it happening. Yes, the Turtles died in the 2003 show and it was shocking, but it was an alternate universe and it was never addressed after the fact. This time, Splinter is actually seen getting stabbed by the Turtles instead of it actually just being told that he died. Though Leo did stab him in "The Darkness Within" as well. Can't believe no one mentioned that one.

I doubt Splinter will stay dead, but I agree that it would be interesting to see what would happen if the Turtles didn't save him and he remained dead. Then again, there's always fan fiction for that aspect and I just might tackle it after this whole thing plays out.

I hope that they take out Shredder before they get Splinter back. I really want to see the Turtles vs. Shredder be the endgame rather than Splinter vs. Shredder.

But what if it turns out the Turtles witness Splinters murder, they go back six months to stop the Triceraton's from destroying the Earth with the "Heart of Darkness" only for them to still see Splinter being murdered again a different way.
