Absolutely. And it's written as being all glorious and triumphant, not at all gross or anything. The script directly points out how "beautiful" of a scene it is. Y e e e a a a h.

Guy who wrote it was French, I believe, sooooo there ya go. I really like that movie, too... but sometimes you just plain don't wanna know about how they make the sausage, y'know? Some movies get weird to watch after you know what direction they were making it from.

Unfortunately, I believe you, bro. Because in the movie as it is, Leon never straight up says, "Naw, girl, I ain't gonna get in bed with you--you UNDERAGE, b!tch." He's just "I loved a woman once and she died, so... nope, not doing it again. Nothing personal."

I found the non-condemnation of that potential sexual relationship a little odd... now that I know what the original intent was, it makes more sense. Ugh.

Latest movie I watched was "Starship Troopers." Don't remember any of the cast except Denise Richards. Ended up turning it off halfway through... lost interest. Watching 2015's Cinderella now, 'cause my wife wants to. We'll see if this pans out or not... my hopes are not high.

Are you kidding?! I LOVED Starship Troopers! Also, to be fair, it doesn't really get "good" until the second half, so you probably cut out a bit too early. If you can do so, give it another shot, and maybe skip past the parts you've seen to get to the REAL action. It's cheesy and a gore-fest, but fun for all of that. And how could you forget Neil Patrick Harris in that??!! It was one of my favorite roles for him. Denise was good, but it had Casper Van Dien (the jock from The Craft, among other things) and Michael Ironside in it too!

Nah dude you GOTTA finish Starship Troopers! C'mon seriously, it deserves another chance, it's spectacular, really. It's like the original Robocop, dude, part sci-fi movie but really it's a biting social satire and does it just as well from another direction, it's just about the romanticization of the military instead of the glorification of 80s corporate America. It's soooo gooood. I mean, f*ck the goofy sequels, but yeah, dude, Starship Troopers is a movie I would have sex with if there were some way to make that work.

I really do hope we have co-ed changing rooms in the future. I mean come on already, we all got nipples, think of all the space we're wasting. That movie is goddamn brilliant. I mean, there's better reasons, but that's a good one too.

Disregard the above posts's advice, skip NONE of it, without all context it loses its brilliance. Just approach it again in its entirety while in a bit of a lighter mood perhaps. It's glorious. I gotta watch that one'a these days. It's one of my wife's favorites.

I loved the political message of the story, and found it hilarious that the movie's political message was 100% the opposite of the novel and author's original intentions. Spin in that grave, old man...

It was a good movie, but I felt like I'd already gotten the whole message by the midway point. The theme and message was more interesting to me than the actual story, so I checked out. But upon thy advice, friends, be thou comforted that I shall indeed finish the movie at some point in the near future.

I watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High last night. The B story with Sean Penn vs the US History teacher in a battle of wits was fun but it was just a side focus. The main plot was dull. Average girl has to decide if she wants cool guy who will give her sex that she craves or good guy who will give her a great relationship and no sex. After getting knocked up she presses the abort button and settles with The good guy and good relationship. I thought was supposed to be something to this film as it seems to have some cult status. I watched it to see Penn's influence on Townsend Coleman's Michelangelo.I did not care for te movie overall.

I know like a million of those guys so maybe that's why this movie tickles me. Plus, it has a distinctive 80s flair, which... well, I'm not sure everyone noticed yet, but is kind of a thing I'm sorta into.

Sean Penn was awesome, but was a minor role and what held my attention during the movie. Cant like everything one sees. Maybe you will like the next two I will watch Birds by Hitchock from Netflix for a first viewing and Escape From New York I bought from a discount bin for a second viewing.

Yeah, never was a fan myself, either. Personally, I never thought of Coleman's Mike as particularly like Penn's character, except for the way he talks. Everything else was just pure surf-bum.

Most recent movie I watched- Captain America: Winter Soldier. Watched it again night before last, and now I have to wonder why they didn't deal more with cleaning up Hydra in Age of Ultron. Granted, the movie was about Ultron, and Hydra was a side-note, but it just feels like there should have been more in between, especially with that end-credit scene with the scepter and the twins. And why didn't they ever explain what happened to Bucky in AoU? He just disappears from the entire story/universe after saving Cap, and is never mentioned again. WTF?! I love this movie- it's my second fave Marvel film- but I wish there had been a few more story threads sewn up.

Aside from doing a take on Penn' s character for Michelangelo's voice there was the scene Penn orders a pizza having it delivered to the classroom perhaps inspiring the turtles and especially Michelangelo's love for pizza. Otherwise you are correct.

Speaking of influences Arkham City largely riped off the odd but interesting concept of Escape From New York.

Yeah, Marvel's latest movies losing the focus on Bucky has irked me. Age of Ultron was supposed to have a cameo from Bucky, if I recall... wasn't he seen on set once? Running from Ultron bots in the woods or something?

And while I'm hyped for Civil War, I would've been more hyped for "CA3: Hunt for Red Bucky" or some such.

Rethinking the entire movie, it actually wouldn't have ruined anything script-wise... you can read into it what you will, but now that we know what was originally in it, I can see that Leon never denounced the idea of getting it on with Mathilda.

Which is horrifying and has put quite the damper on my appreciation for the movie. Oh well. Commissioner Gordon was still terrifying. Man, I love that guy.

I just finished watching a tv movie docudrama was featured on the Wonderful World of Disney Sunday night block called Brotherhood of Justice (1985) featuring Keanu Reeves, Keifer Sutherland, and Lori Loughlin about a group of high school boys fighting all the drug, rape, and vandalism running rampant in their school in their own way. Along the way deciding who and what is wrong becomes blurred and they may be more of a bullying problem than heroes.

Nope, would have ruined it - for me anyway. Not in terms of the script, no, but character-wise, yes. They're relationship was so sweet and innocent; y'know, despite killing people .
