Spoiler:
If they go back in time, that means they went to the season finale. But the season finale, we didnt see Splinter getting saved. Splinter died.

So there will be a massive time paradox which makes me mad. It's a cheap plot device.

Why? If the earth and Splinter were saved there would be no need to travel back in time, which is a paradox.

Anyways, just started watching it and I saw what they did there with where they need to go in the beginning. I'll give thoughts later though since I just started, this better be a good way to top a kinda lackluster season.
I'm going on vacation to LA next Sunday, so I find it convenient to watch it early so that I can just enjoy the trip. I'd love to know where any behind-the-scenes stuff could be happening, but I'll just be content with the cattle-class traps since for three people, this is their first time in California.

I'll have to say, I can really feel for all of the children/kids watching this, and of course this was the best season finale of the Nick series so far, and is debatable with the best out of the OT and 4kids. Almost every major player is presented, there are important back stories revealed, tense battles, kidnappings/trappings, rescues, human panic, and if this was the first episode of the series you ever watched, provides a good basis to go back and follow along from the beginning (outside of some filler eps like the Ice Cream Kitty episode).

Grade: 10/10

Of all the season finals we have seen, this is by far the best one yet.

Every season final has always topped the previous one.

I'm so glad the Utrom are on this series, we are so getting tired of hearing about the Kraang.

and Utroms are normally peaceful creatures.

Just watched it - twice in a row!

- Kraang sub-prime confirmed 2 earth-years has passed since Season 1 finale. If the turtles do age, technically they are 17+ by now!
- Those pesky Taser droids! (anyone knows its official name?)
- One of the Kraang called the Turtle Blimp "a balloon"
- The Triceratons actually have their own language (as spoken by the aircraft pilots), they probably use a language convertor (such as the device used by Newtrailizer) to "speak" English
- Mikey don't even need to be in Dimension X to be the best Hovercraft pilot here
- Donnie to April: We've been hit! We're going down. Grab on to something! *smooooth Donatello~*
- Kraang sub-prime: We're toast! TOAST!! *bangs head on Kraang prime's head*
- Mikey's acid trip! And him clinging to Mozar after that, asking for more
- One of the Triceratons was entertained by Bebop's dance
- Splinter and Shredder taking down a Triceraton together
- Very smart of Leo to use a teleporter to "open" a hole in the Triceraton ship's dome glass
- Rocksteady actually fared quite well against a Triceraton
- As I was already spoiled by the book, my heart literally skipped a beat when I hear "Hurry Saki, we have no time!"
- Words can't describe the imagery that followed...
- The animators truly made an awesome rendition on what a real black hole might possibly look like
- Fugitoid's spaceship appeared out of nowhere to rescue the team before everything is gone "in an infinite gravitational singularity" (thanks for dropping the science on us Donnie)
- Yeah I don't quite get Casey's inability to contain his excitement so soon after the whole tragedy either... not cool, man

They still have to keep a light-hearted tone for the show. So, Casey's excitement in spite of that whole tragedy would have to be there.

That or he is in denial of all that has happened and he's using the thought that they are going on an adventure to distract him from what he really is feeling.

Everyone takes on grief in different ways. I mean I can sort of understand that there is some shock involved as the turtles and co are invasion orphans again only this time instead of the their loved ones being mutated or supposedly dead. This time their friends, and loved ones are completely dead and there was nothing they could really do to prevent it at that point in time.

So the full impact of everything that has happened hasn't hit them just yet. But yet it is a kids show so we aren't going to see all out cry fests outside of Fanfiction.

Spoiler:
The next arc according to the books involves them going backward 6 months in time and preventing the Triceraton's from building the heart of Darkness.

No ones talking about seeing Chloe in cameo again.

Well damn, this was an intense Season Finale. Splinter getting killed onscreen, the Earth and every living thing on it being destroyed... well at least The Doctor saved the turtles and there will be a 4th season. So where the heck was Renet? I thought she said the Turtles saved the world? Also, I hate Shredder just about as much as I hated Joffrey from Game of Thrones now. I'm hoping Renet shows up and sends the Turtles back through time to stop/kill Shredder before he kills Splinter, allowing Splinter to save the world

great episode! Even though i skimmed through the spoilers a few weeks ago, it was still very enjoyable and everything was executed well!

I loved that all of Shredder's henchman were included in this, and we even saw Tiger Claw ( i think) question Shredder for what he did at the end.

Also, Mikey's intense euphoria was funny. His eyes becoming hollow were a nice touch too lol

i was excited to see Honeycutt! for some reason I assumed we would see him at the beginning of season 4.

Leo seemed not to care about sacrificing himself and his brothers to save everyone, do you think we would ever get a season where Leo get's all moody and angry like the 2003 season 4 Leo?

That's interesting, If
Spoiler:
they go back in time to prevent the creation of that weapon, It'll create a new timeline, a new timeline in which the Turtles never met the Fugitoid when he appeared to rescue them.

And if that happens.
Spoiler:
will the Turtles still have memories about it? Would the timeline reset to where they don't remember ever going into space and meeting the other alleys?

I understand why they had to lighten up the mood so quickly after the destruction of Earth. As far as your average kid is concerned, everyone died. For a children's show I think ending this season on a somber note like the second season finale did would be too much, and considering how they didn't leave much room for themselves to process what happened before the end of the episode, I'm not too upset with the, in my mind, jarring mood change from death and destruction to, "yay, space adventures!"

While it does feel like it's another moment of emotional aftermath ended too soon, in terms of how the finale ended I think Casey's line was necessary.

Over all this is by far my favourite episode(s) this season, and possibly the whole show. I pretty much enjoyed every part of these episodes.

I hope not, personally. We got a somewhat angsty Leo this season already, and with so far only two more seasons to go I'd rather not go down that similar character path with Leo when other turtles need some character growth more. But if we get past season 5, who knows, it could work then.

The ending wasn't lame, they had to keep it light for the young children who watch this show. I don't think Ciro wants any angry mail from parents does he.
