How Red Sky could have been improved.
I've always liked the Red Sky Season but I knew that there were some inconsistencies and things that could have been improved. I think these things would have made it better. I actually didn't mind Lord Dregg being the main villain. Granted Shredder and Krang weren't totally defeated but still. At the end of season 8 when the Technodrome fell into the pit with the giant plant, am I the only ones who thought they died there? I mean they were with a vicious plant with no way out and then Lord Dregg takes over so I always assumed Krang and Shredder bit the dust there.
1. Show more of Casey Jones. Show Usagi, Mondo Gecko and the Punk Frogs again. 2. Show more of the old villains like Leatherhead, Slash, Tempestra, Chrome Drome, Baxter Stockman ect. Rat King at least showed up but only for one episode. 3. Give more screen time for the one shot villains. There's quite a few of those. Beserko, Doomquest, Megavolt, Chronos ect, were all villains that appeared in one episode and I feel they should have appeared in more than episode and they were decent villains at that. 4. Change the design a little on the Turtles, as their masks always make them look angry even when they are smiling. xD 5. Have Irma, Burne and Vernon show up in more episodes. 6. Bring Back Bebop and Rocksteady. They are always with Shredder and Krang and I always wondered why they weren't seen in season 10. Also where was General Tragg and the Rock Soldiers or even the Foot Soldiers? A weird thing I noticed is how come in the Power of 3 Trilogy, Carter needs the other 4 tmnt to give the present tmnt a life transfusion, when Shredder was able to give a life transfusion to Krang and they are both entirely different species. That would have been a good opportunity to bring back Casey Jones, Usagi and Mondo Gecko, or could have brought the Punk Frogs back to give the TMNT a life transfusion. |

1) Fights on par with Season 1
2) Human Foot Soldiers 3) Mike gets nunchucks back 4) Bring back Mona Lisa, et al. 5) New villains and allies from elsewhere in TMNT lore. |

I agree about the life energy transfusions, the punk frogs would have been perfect, it was totally unnecessary to time travel.
I would have liked to see explanations for multiple major events and changes like how and why did April leave Channel 6 and become a freelance reporter? Did she get fired or did Channel 6 shut down? In The Wrath of The Rat King, the Technodrome was in a black hole but in its next episode it's somewhere else and there was no explanation of how it got free from the black hole. How did Krang have Gargon abducted from Dimension X when he didn't have access to Dimension X while living at the Hall of Science?

I assume that she left channel 6. Irma is the only one she got along with and probably got sick of Burne and Vernon bad mouthing the turtles. With Gargon I'm not sure but instead of him being a native of Dimension X, I feel it'd make more sense if Krang kidnapped a regular human and mutated him instead. It's strange because Krang even said that not even Beserko's equipment would free the Technodrome from a blackhole so I don't know how he got it out. I wonder how they escaped that plant monster. With them gone in season 9 I always assumed Shredder and Krang were killed by the plant monster due to their absense. Don't know what they did with Bebop and Rocksteady. Also the last time we saw Krang's android body was in season 7 yet he's only in his bubble walker for the Red Sky season. I figured maybe he couldn't use his android body because it was kind of damaged by Irma and since the Technodrome was gone he couldn't repair it. But Beserko had a lot of equipment so I figured he probably could have repaired it. In the last episode Krang's android body is in the Technodrome when the last time we saw it, it was on Earth, unless Krang had a spare body laying around and if he did, why didn't he use it immediatly as soon as he obtained the Technodrome in the Red Sky Season? So many unanswered questions. How did Carter know that much about time travel anyway. How did he know Landor and Merrick anyway? Last edited by Yabuturtle; 09-21-2015 at 02:15 PM. |

Season 8 could have been longer. Also, Shredder could've been more of a threat in that season. I was expecting him to cause more trouble after Get Shredder, but he spent most of season 8 in the Hall of Science.
When I first saw season eight in 1995, the season finale episode Turtle Trek wasn't shown in Ireland and was replaced with a repeat of Enter: Krakus. The cartoon was then repeated from the beginning and I assumed that it ended with that episode. I finally saw seasons nine and ten along with Turtle Trek in 1998. It was a surprise seeing new episodes of the show a few years later. Oddly enough, nine was placed between seven and eight, so I didn't know why Dregg had replaced Shredder and Krang, as I hadn't seen Turtle Trek at that time. I thought Dregg was a decent villain, though, so I wasn't bothered. When I first saw the ending of Turtle Trek, I thought Shredder had the Technodrome again, as it didn't seem that badly damaged. I think Dregg could've been introduced better in 9, as Shredder and Krang weren't written out of the series well, in my opinion. There could've been a fighting tournament for a few episodes. Maybe a gang war could have happened between Big Louie and other gangsters after Shredder was banished to Dimension X? Allies from season 8 and older seasons could have helped the Turtles in seasons nine and ten. It was sad that they seemed to be alone against the world in those seasons (aside from April, Splinter and Carter). I assumed that General Tragg and the Rock Soldiers were still somewhere in Dimension X in season 10. They just weren't seen. I think the Foot Soldiers weren't used because the technology used to create them might have been destroyed along with the Technodrome in Turtle Trek.

As for the plant monster, I assume the monster threw the Technodrome out of the pit at some point since it was on a hill on the surface in Divide And Conquer.

Oh I need to see that episode. We did at least see one Foot Soldier in the episode a Turtle in Time where one from the past was trying to blast Merrick and Landor and the Turtles. There are theories saying that Shredder and Krang got the Technodrome out of that pit, but because of how badly damaged it was and due to lack of tools and resources, they couldn't use it anymore and ended up abandoning it. You'd think General Tragg would have been around with Krang as well as Bebop and Rocksteady during Season 10 so I don't know why Lord Dregg didn't bring those back to Earth as they, especially Bebop and Rocksteady always hang around Krang and Shredder.
I guess they lacked resources to where they couldn't build anymore Foot Soldiers and that's why you don't really see them when Krang and Shredder get the Technodrome running again. I noticed that the Techno Gang and Batmen are basically replacements for the Foot Soldiers and Rock Soldiers. The Techno Gang are more like the Rock Soldiers and HiTech would be like General Tragg while the Batmen are nearly silent and unintelligent like the Foot Soldiers. I always wondered how powerful Dregg would have been if he not only had that Morpho Genesis Exoskeleton suit where he absorbed those 5 aliens, but also absorbed the mental and physical abilities of the tmnt, Krang and Shredder like he tried in the Power of Three trilogy. He might give Ch'rell a run for his money, maybe even with just the suit. xD I always wished they explained why the sky was red. When I first saw it after seeing season 7. I thought Krang and Shredder took over and the TMNT were in some post apocalyptic world kind of like the episode Shredderville. |

The only thing I really would've liked to have seen was more. I would've preferred that the red sky seasons had been 13 episodes instead of 8. And I wouldn't have minded if the entire series had been done in the red sky style.

I never really thought Dregg was shoved in our faces. Shredder and Krang were basically banished to Dimension X and had little to no chance to come back. They never did until Dregg brought them back. Dregg I feel was a great villain. He did what the others didn't really try to do. He attempted to pretend to be a good guy and it worked for almost a whole season. He could destroy the Turtles with little resistance from the public and made the Turtles looked bad so it was perfect for him.
It would have been nice to see Dregg also bring back General Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady, since they were all in Dimension X and they are always hanging out together. Mung said he only ran into Krang and Shredder. I mean if Bebop, Rocksteady and General Tragg were gone somehow it would have been nice to know what happened to them exactly. Did anyone notice how Dregg looks different in Season 9 compared to Season 10? His jaw looks longer and his face seems thinner to me. I liked the Season 10 version of Dregg. I like how they showed development for Dregg when at first he wanted to rule Earth and then slowly started to lose his mind after being defeated over and over. Plus I thought the last episode was satisfying and had a fitting climax. I wonder what happened to their obsession with pizza anyway? They almost never mention pizza in the red sky seasons. Maybe that's why they act so serious. xD |

It would been cool to see General Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady brought back to Earth by Dregg, but I think Dregg was only interested in bringing back Shredder and Krang anyway. I never realised that the turtles stopped obsessing about pizza in the red sky seasons when I was a kid. I guess they might have got tired of pizza after all those years.

I think it'd be cool if he brought them over as he would have had a major power boost during that life transfusion process as Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady all have super strength. I don't think I've ever seen them even mention the word pizza let alone eat it so I'm not sure why they gave up their obsession with pizza. Although I do remember one episode where during a battle, one of the Turtles falls on Raphael, and Raphael replies" You guys have got to lay off the pepperoni!" Other than that I don't think I've ever seen them mention pizza again. It feels kind of strange as that was kind of a staple of the TMNT because of their obsession with Pizza. But I guess since it was more serious maybe the writers believed the Turtles eating pizza and putting weird stuff on it was too silly or something. Or they were tired of eating it. As much as I love pizza, I'd probably be tired of eating nothing but pizza for a few straight years.

It does seem odd that Mung only met Shredder and Krang. Maybe he did meet General Tragg, Bebop and Rocksteady but didn't see any reason to mention them to Dregg. Another odd thing is that the flashback in The Power of Three showed Krang and Shredder against the Turtles on their own. If that scene had taken place in the past, Bebop and Rocksteady should have been present as well.

I always thought the final battle was pretty cool but always wondered what it'd be like if the other charactes joined in to stop the vastly more powerful Lord Dregg. I liked that they used Krang's android body against it, but I also think it'd be cool if maybe the episode was maybe a two parter and the Turtles enlist help from Splinter, Casey Jones, Usagi, Mondo Gecko, the Punk Frogs and even Carter returning from the future to fight Dregg and defeat him for good. That way we'd all see those characters one last time. Especially characters who were never even in the red sky seasons like the Punk Frogs, Mondo Gecko and Usagi.

I think Bebop and Rocksteady went their separate ways from Krang and Shredder. Krang probably didn't have his army alright, as he would have mentioned them if he had. Krang and Shredder didn't seem to have any resources in season 10.

I also kind of missed the fact that Shredder and Krang hated each other and would constantly mock and even purposely cause each other to fail to defeat the TMNT and in the Red Sky season the tension has all but disappeared as they seemed to treat each other more like equals and Shredder even goes so far to transfer his energy to save Krang. Did you like that they hated each other or when they started to act more like allies like in the Red Sky Season? |

I didn't miss that Shredder and Krang no longer insulted each other. I thought it was good to see that their friendship appeared to have grown. I liked that Shredder helped Krang on many occasions. I liked when they insulted each other as well, but it was a refreshing change to see them as allies in red sky.

A sword fight between Shredder and Lord Dregg would be cool, although if this happens after Dregg absorbs the Turtle's powers, Shredder wouldn't stand a chance as Dregg becomes a master of martial arts after absrbing the Turtle's abilities.
I missed the insults mostly because they were funny. They were usually the funniest parts in the show, and while I do like their alliance growing, I miss that they don't make fun of each other as they always made me laugh. xD |
