I always wanted Super Shredder to appear in the cartoon, having originated in Secret of the Ooze and appearing in several of the video games as a boss. The Red Sky seasons would've been a nice opportunity to make use of him.

That would have been nice to see. Would have been a nice final villain, although I like Dregg more personally, Super Shredder would have been cool especially in the Red Sky seasons. I hoped that Shredder would be in contact with the mutagen. I remember in Wrath of the Rat King, they were making a new mutagen, and I hoped a container would come in contact with Shredder.

I think the season 10 episode "Mobster from Dimension X" could've been written better. I thought it was a bit boring, especially coming after the 3-parter with Shredder and Krang. What happened to them anyway? They were transported along with Dregg and Mung to Dimension X in Turtles to the Second Power. I assumed at first that they might have been captured, but then I thought that Shredder and Krang probably had one last fight with Dregg and Mung before deciding to move on.

"Mobster" was only made so fans could theorize who he was working for since Krang and Shredder wanted revenge against Dregg and vice versa. It was to show which side won. Transporter energy was a big clue but just who transported him. Then we found out it was Dregg. *cough*

Not only that, but ninjaturtles.com gave it away when summarizing the then upcoming 10th season. This was before archive.org so I can't prove it. I thought it was a letdown too but with three episode left, it would be hard to get Shredder and Krang to re-establish themselves as threats.

I didn't have internet access at the time when I first saw the episode in 1998, so I didn't even know that episode was from season 10. Anyway, I wasn't bothered that Dregg remained the main villain for the remainder of the series. I just thought Shredder and Krang could've been mentioned again at some point in the episode.

The biggest problem was promotion. There were no video games and except for the Cyber Turtles figures, no merchandise for those seasons. If Next Mutation could still have figures, why couldn't we have had some for Red Sky?
However, this was the ideal opportunity for the OT to have its version of Turtles In Space, and it would be in another dimension/planet that we could have encountered not just Dregg, but perhaps Fugitoid, the Triceraton empire, but also have the Turtles' unusual mutations as a tool for passing through tough spots. With April retiring from Channel 6, she could have joined the Turtles and Casey could have joined her. It easily could have revived the franchise, much like Power Rangers: In Space did after Turbo. Also, the City At War arc had recently been completed for Mirage, and could have been a perfect way to transition the seasons which could have ultimately ended in the change to the Red Sky.

I remember an episode where April was trying to distance herself from the Turtles and tried to focus on more ordinary stories which I thought was out of character and kind of cold since she saw Leo mutated and causing havoc in the city and then eventually gets wrapped up with Dregg anyway, which made the whole thing entirely pointless. Besides who would focus on ordinary stories anyway when you have mutants and aliens wreaking havoc? Doesn't make sense to me.
I wish Usagi showed up as well as the Punk Frogs. I was also hoping the Rock Soldiers would appear more often. I think it was a wasted opportunity to not have Shreeka, especially when there could have been a Beserko and Shreeka team up, since they both hated Krang. Colonel Knight and Dark Water should have appeared more often and the Firestar should have appeared once again, maybe in the hands of Lord Dregg. |

You all are bringing up points I made in my fan fiction continuation of this series. I had a City At War arc play out several episode scripts in. Shredder and Krang themselves are trapped in a Dimension X vortex while Bebop and Rocksteady and the Technodrome are here on Earth. Leaderless Alpha 1 who placed the duo in the vortex took over the Technodrome and lead the Foot faction while Dregg who had quietly returned secretly worked with Big Louie who at the beginning of my continuation took control of the consolidated mafia. Dregg would later reveal himself after the third party wild card used mutagen to create four Ninja Rats to causes chaos to both Alpha 1's plans and his own, that wild card of course is The Rat King. After the turtles stop Rat King and blow up Alpha 1 a returned Shredder duels with Dregg as the turtles let their enemies wear each other down. Dregg ultimately is presumed dead after his ship malfunctions and explodes. That is one way a City At War scenario could have played out in TMNT (1987).
I also see I am not the only one who had the idea of a Beserko and Shreeka team up. The episode's perfect title of course would be, "Get Krang!" as they both are after Krang and a nod to Beserko's appearance in "Get Shredder!". Also, if Agent Bishop appeared in the '87 cartoon he would have been the head of Dark Water. I guarantee it.

The concept there was Titanus returned to mutate all of New York City set off my volcano off of the Hudson Bay. Burne, who was Dregg's main publicity when he fronted himself as a alien hero wanted to redeem himself to himself and the public by becoming Gadget Man II stopping Titanus, but nearly falls into the volcano and April filming Don disabling the chemical explosives. April saves him and Krakus witnesses this and utters "Grandpa Thompson" which leads to April's return to Channel Six as a producer. In the second episode script I introduced the only character I added, Tiffany's much older sister Tammy, a feisty redhead and station manager of rival Channel Three who Burne falls for. She was also The Rat King's college sweetheart and why he has a thing for redheads like April and her spurning as to what lead him to the deranged sewer dweller he is opposed to the scientist specializing in animal intelligence he could have been. If you want to respond to my crazy ideas of continuing the series PM me so not to derail this thread.

I just wish Season 8 got 13 or 26 episodes. Other than that I am fine with how it played out.

Yes,more Shredder and KRang in the Hall of Science. Such a great concept so short-lived. Without the Technodrome they were as badass as ever. They were headed in that direction in season 7 and achieved it here for badassery of all of 7 Red Sky episodes, 4 of which are in season 8.
