So now we know who was The Very First Guy to start the prequel backlash, thanks to that video.
 Seriously though, that video's a really good example why the opening night theater reaction isn't always entirely accurate. I always advocate seeing any movie more than once before getting completely married to your opinion of it. I've been guilty of it, it's the whole experience of seeing a big movie in a big crowd on opening day, it just plain brainwashes you. Some movies hold up and some don't but pretty much nothing is ever as good as your initial impression of it. Some things end up actually better and some end up worse. All three of the prequels had a huge opening week reaction; it really actually took a long time for the public opinion to turn. Lots of people basically loved them until someone told them not to. They're not as bad as everyone says but they're also not as good as everyone said they were when they came out. I guess I just kinda wish people would wait a little while before deciding things were the best or worst thing ever. Especially Star Wars. You'd think we'd have all learned about hyperbole by now. |

The last movie I saw more than once this year was Age of Ultron, and that didn't improve either time I saw it. I can usually gauge my enjoyment levels strictly on the one viewing.
With the prequels, I vividly remember watching Attack of the Clones twice, but Phantom and Sith just once. When PM was re-released in 3-D some years back, I went and saw that again and actually enjoyed it a lot. Certainly not something I'd watch religiously on the set I have, but a decade between viewings isn't a bad deal either. I've seen Sith multiple times since then, but chiefly through fanedits |

Twas 98% a few hours ago. Tis now 95%, 1% higher than Eps IV & V.
Some friends of mine are going to the 00:05 showing tonight. I shall be seeing it during the daytime like a sensible person.  I watched RotJ again today in preparation, then played some Battle of Jakku straight afterwards so it all made sense. I am officially ready; just one more sleep to go. Quote:
