June 3 is when the movie comes out, according to the first movie trailer. The merchandise for a movie, usually, starts showing a month in advance. So I would say mid to late April early May is when to expect new stuff.

I like the look of the new figures. The figures have more accessories than before, though I wished the Foot Soldier had another sword or something besides the one. I also hope that Casey has a removable mask, if not, oh well. Mikey with his skateboard, nice The Krang brain figure looks cool for being the smallest part of that set

I don't think your wrong that it looks like the original is better, but I wasn't expecting there to actually be a technodrome playset for the new movie.

Can't wait for more pictures and for when they show in stores when I can get them.

At the very least I need this Leo. Wasn't too impressed with the basic figures from the first and don't own it/them, but this one looks decent.

And they better not scrap the one with the hoodie or do what they did with the "Raph in disguise" and stop producing them after a little bit. I need that. And maybe the one with the bike...

I dunno, I still see the Raph in Disguise from the last movie on occasion, so they haven't stopped selling them completely. I should get it next time they restock, though, as it's the only major figure from that set that I regret passing up on.

The original Drome would be very hard to beat.
This one is still a nice piece tho, with more 'action' set ups built into it.
The table that holds my original Drome wont hold both, so i cant display them side by side. I keep the 2K3 van by that Drome.
For box comparison size, here is the box with the ShellRaiser box. I dont have an original box to compare with. If someone has that and the ShellRaiser, we can create a comparison.

Halloween Turtles. I was surprised that these were not offered. I hope they are just in another package

Although this form of him isn't from the movie, I actually dig the First Gokin Krang version way more that the 2016 TMNT 2 Playmates release of the toy of the similar name.

http://www.toyarena.com/images/6923450656990b.JPG

And I probably broke this thread by mentioning a non Playmates made figure that isn't based off of the actual design that might very well be seen in the sequel.

Does the packaging for the figures have anything written in the back, Like a short bio of the characters? I'm interested in hearing what it says about Kraang.

Technodrome looks pretty sweet, but don't know how anything can beat the original drome, which I still don't have...

Appreciate the pics DVD!
Whereas I picked up every figure from the first film... I might skip a couple this time around. Foot & Shredder being my least preferred. Love the articulation after what I've seen lately and the paint seems decent enough. Something to look forward to!

I'm wondering now if maybe there is a panel in the back of it that opens, with a larger space inside than the front opening suggests.

Even if Krang is a squishier material as I was originally thinking, so that it fits in there more easily, there's no way to just stuff it in there from the front without the tentacles being trouble.

Yeah it's hard to tell. I was thinking maybe the whole top piece snapped off and you shove Krang down inside the hollow body.

I really like the look regardless.

That might be where his spinal cord attaches, good find!

You have to seek one out. The original. It's the pinnacle of the original toy range in my opinion.
I know some folks like to keep it mint in box - a waste as far as I can see. Open it, build it, display it. You still have the box !!! Display the box as was - All good .. hahaha!!

All said and done, the new one still looks good, and will not be kept MIB (not the movie). Hopefully I will get time tonight to do those comparison shots.

I'll tell you the exact reasoning behind naming Krang "Kraang."

Synergy. That one word, I promise you, was the exact reason. The exact word.

Maybe not the Technodrome (or new shredder or Foot, for that matter) but I will certainly get the new Kra(a)ng! He looks pretty awesome, all things considered.

I like Kraang. Turtles are alright. Wish they'd have given us a better Splinter.

That has to be the most non menacing shredder we've had in a major production. I hope he works better on screen. Maybe he is designed that way so he can do lots of crazy martial arts moves on screen easier.

Kraang is actually pretty good. The Kraang does go inside the body. More later.
I brought the Technodrome home tonight.

I will build it up later , but for here's a quick comparison against the fully built original Technodrome.

And here's the gang, with the box before I left the school,
