TMNT 2016 Action Figures

Thanks Zak for the first unboxing of April. I've been eagerly awaiting the chance to see the back of her head as I figured Playmates would leave her ponytail off and sure enough they did. Oh well.

Yes, my Target had them the other day.
I'm personally tired of this kind of stuff and I'm not even sure kids are into it but I could be wrong.
But all the stores that have these transforming TMNT figures just sit and collect dust forever.

I agree All I ever see in the stores is piles of the Mutation's crap just sitting there. Dear Playmates nobody wants this crap.

I can't find them online anywhere, except Raph on eBay (with the stock pics I posted).

What are these packaged like, and do you remember what vehicles Leo and Mikey turned in to?

You're right though, it could work but it definitely would look small I think. Maybe not ridiculously small though? You made me curious as to how it would look actually so please post a pic if you do try this out.

You're welcome!! Yep, the ponytail is gone. She kind of has that slicked back IDW look to her.

Are the Mutations vehicles new? I honestly haven't been paying attention to that line but noticed that my Target got at least one Tri-Flyer in with the Fugitoid Ship case. I think there was a Hot Rod and a T-Rawket too.

Lastly, has anyone heard about another Playmates playset being released? They commented on one of my pictures on Instragram stating that it looked like I needed to buy another playset because mine was almost filled up. Then their next message said something like "Also, sharing tomorrow". I asked what they meant but they haven't responded. Maybe they were planning to put the new movie one on their website or?

They're in stand up window box's like many other deluxe mutations.
I'm sorry I can't remember the vehicles they turn into.
They look so much like every other mutation item on the shelves I almost over looked them.

I did take some close ups for you as a comparison though. Judging from the pictures, I would say no, the Dimension X April head would look too small on the older April figure's body. I also took a close up of Karai Serpent next to the Dimension X April as a reference. The heads look very close to the same size and I recall others discussing a custom Karai but the Serpent figure's head was too small to do so. Have a look and see what you think!

I returned my Fugitoid Ship and unfortunately there wasn't another one available, shocker, to exchange with. They looked in the back for me but said that the only case of vehicles are what is on the shelf now. I guess the vehicles, just like the figures, come in assorted boxes as well. So Playmates literally put one Fugitoid Ship with several other vehicles. I had a worker look up all of the info on his handheld device and he explained everything to me. A new shipment is arriving Mon, Weds and Fri though and he told me that if I called in those mornings that they would hold a Fugitoid Ship for me if one were to show up in a new shipment!

Hey man, I put Karias head on Aprils body. While the head is noticeably smaller I don't think it looks bad once it's on her body. I think DX April would look pretty good on the old April body. The original April is attached to a joint that will pull out of the body with too much pressure, it's not molded onto the torso like the turtles. I pulled it off then took it off from her head and reattached it back in her neck. So if you do pull it out don't fret, it's an easy fix with a touch of super glue. Here is my Karai to give you an idea of head size.

Much better, like you said just add some revoltech joints to the knees and elbows and you have yourself a fantastic April figure.

Thanks for sharing! That actually looks pretty good to me. I am surprised because looking at the heads side by side, the Dimension X April looks noticeably smaller. Very cool!

Wow, there ya go Powder!! It actually looks really cool! Like I said, my judgement with each of the figures beside one another seemed to be showing a noticeable difference in head and body proportions. I was wrong!

I have got to get my hands on April (so to speak), Casey and Robug and that Ship.
Its rapidly approaching Chinese New Year (Year of the Monkey) so I can't see much getting to me in the next couple of weeks. I have a mate was going the US to see Def Leppard, but they cancelled the shows, so I can give him another task - locate these four items and bring em back alive.

Next up. I've just been offered 11" Turtles to Ninja Turtles mutations. They look very similar to the 6" versions.
I'll have then next week . Two Turtles selected include Leo and Raph.

One of my Walmarts has 36 of the turtle to weapon figures left, like they were never touched, but I know they were because I got Mikey from there, just too much was ordered. Other Walmarts I have been to have a skeleton crew for TMNT merchandise, like every January. The real surprise was finding those new DX figures.

I'm sold. This head swap has to be done, only carefully. When I did my first Karai swap, I snapped the neck off of the April figure I used. Lucky I had a few more lying around. Yup, it does look good.

Not so much promised as a Playmates rep at Comic Con had begrudgingly said,"yes, she will be out Fall of 2016."

But no, no news on her release yet.

Also I still liked the first wave April, even if she wasn't toon accurate and same with the first wave turtles.

They said that maybe this year or next year. But is possible (I am not sure) that a possible prototype of her might be shown at Toy Fair (Which is next month).
