I was bored with this episode, which is weird since I'm obsessed with sharks. I did like seeing Leo and Splinter. I guess I'm just getting tired of them in space. I'm ready for them to go home. I was at this stage when they were in the Hamptons forever. It was very beautiful to watch, they did a great job on that.

Yeah I'm starting to get bored with the Space arc now. I just want the turtles to be with Splinter again (that's if he survives) and see ICK, the Mutanimals. I want to see the turtles fight Shredder and his mutants again and also find out whats happening with Karai.

Oh well at least we got only 3/4 episodes left but it's a pain that we have to wait till March 27th for the next episode.

Also I hope to see some episodes back in New York before the series goes on hiatus for the movie.

They are going to premier the episode at Wonder Con. Perhaps they would also premier it on nick.com next week.

The TMNT panel at Wondercon is on March 26th so I doubt it be up early on Nick.com.

It would be pointless to show the episode at Wondercon if it went up early.

there were so many references, like the Star Wars one when they flew out of the monster cave and the Ray Filet one and the Star Trek one and the Merdude/dudes one and this and that and THERES TOO MANY TO LIST!
I really don't understand why people find this episode boring though, it was intriguing for me

Why on earth would people be bored of the space arc when everything we're getting is all new, as opposed to the same old stuff in NYC? We've been in NY for 3 and a half seasons already, its just going to go to the same routine once we return.

The space arc has a lot more creativity because there's a lot more you can do traveling to different planets as seen in this episode with different creatures. This ep was fantastic.

Obviously we're eager to see Earth saved, but after that I have a feeling the rest of the NY eps will be the same old of mutant of the week or the occasional Shredder/Karai ep.

I also realized that the queen kind of looks like that alien Leo tried flirting with at the beginning of the season

Not to mention the Turtles becoming known to the public of New York. And the Dark April Arc when that comes about.

I'm still enjoying it, I liked the change in scenery, the new stories and new friends and enemies but with the constant long breaks i'm just not enjoying it as much now and I just want the space arc to end and be back in New York to start the new stories.

I'm the same.

I guess I now understand how people felt with the Northampton season.

It is weird though because I was brought up on science fiction and I've never really been a fan of horror, yet I've enjoyed the horror themed episodes a lot more than the space episodes.

I wonder if the next series will have a genre themed first half or will it follow more along the lines of season one and two and have a mix of everything throughout?

They're reusing a lot of the same models. The sea monsters are the same as the one guarding the technodrome and if you look at the mermen I'm pretty sure they've recycled the Salamandrian model and just added more spikes

The Northampton arc was fine as it was only 8 episodes and we only had a 2 week break for Halloween and then the long Christmas break. Then straight after Northampton, we had 2 more episodes back in New York before the next small break.

The Space Arc just feels so long and overwhelming, i'm just getting tired of it now.

They are actually modelled after Merdude from the Archie comics:

Okay, now the "villain not really dead" cliche is just beyond silly now.

A giant, Cthulhu monster ate them for God's sake. And yet, they're not even digested or even impaled from all those teeth.

And the fact I saw it coming a light year away....

Why would you expect them to be dead? They are new good villains.

Not true. Naboo is the planet, not the city. You may be thinking of Theed, Naboo's capital city. Otoh Gunga is an entirely separate capital city, which belongs to the Gungans. In TPM, the Gungans are their own people and are not affiliated with Theed.

It can get confusing, what with most people who watch TPM fall asleep during most of its scenes.
Anyway, ranger_scout's point was that the nebula in this episode felt a lot like Otoh Gunga and they are right, forgiving the name confusion.

While I agree, I don't think Nick really wants any of its characters being truly dead. With a few exceptions of course (Tang Shen).

Was it just me or did anyone wonder why Michelangelo did not try this to the monster?

Of course he'll survive. He's Splinter.

And if memory serves, there was a Playmates toy of a Merdude.

True.

He was also in one episode of the 1987 cartoon.

This episode was average. Let us move past the DBZ stakes and into the 1987 crossover. I wonder how it could be a part of the space arc half season.
