How lovely.

I tried to look up a pic of a Splinter figure without the robe.

DO NOT look up "Naked Splinter." Scarred for life.

I TRIED, but it's on pretty tight. Didn't want to break him, since I don't have a lot of cash to replace broken toys. Don't think he's got a face under it though.

I'm wondering if he'd look any better having the mouth & eye holes blacked out. Additionally curious if one could shape the mask a bit more with an exacto-knife or something, it's kinda blobby. The features need to be more well defined, at least the nose, anyway.

Didn't remove the mask, but did transplant onto a different body that I feel is better scaled and proportioned to the Movie Turtles, I need to do some work on the masked head and will be working on an alternate maskless head, but I prefer this drastically to the Playmates release.

Are we sure the mask is actually removable?...
'Cos if it is removable they need premission to use Amell's likeness and all that ensues, right?
Would they go through all that trouble?

I guess if toymakers have the opportunity to have an movie character's figure masked they jump on it.

Terminator Salvation's John Connor figures by Playmates come to mind...

Notice the close resemblance to mr. Bale.

I'm disturbed, and I threw away my 1988 Splinter figure because he was naked. I would have just shipped it to someone here, but it was sticky. He got in some jam from breakfast..

I could see Playmates being too cheap to pay for the permissions for both Amell and Brian Tee (because man that Shredder head...)

Not that they'd be very accurate. Look at the April figure's face.

True...kinda funny that they did a decent job back in the day with their original Star trek figures:

That looks pretty good. Which figure is that?

It's the comic version of Abraham Ford from McFarlanes Walking Dead.

Just a body-swap is a drastic improvement.

Has anyone tried doing a head swap with the two movie Shredders? I like the older head enough and am wondering if it will fit on the newer body.

Haha, that made me chuckle...typical of the toy company, but makes monetary sense.

Christian Bales Butler, in lowered tone: "Um, excuse me Mr Bale but the figures of yourself have arrived and are ready for your viewing pleasure...I hope they meet your expectations and high standards..."

Bale: "GAAAHHHHHHH"
*trashes room in rage*

Butler: "I take it you WON'T be approving the figures sir?"

You don't suppose Mattel had the exclusive rights to Bale's likeness in action figure form for their Batman Begins/Dark Knight figures? Is that something that even happens? If so, could it be Mattel has the exclusive rights for Stephen Amell for their DC Comics/Arrow-verse figures?

Or maybe the rights are just more expensive because of multiple companies using the same likeness? Rights issues are always so confusing to me.
