The mask is iconic imagery. That actually has an important design purpose.

Imagine if they made a Captain America movie where his shield was too heavy to carry so he stopped using it. Or a Superman movie where his cape kept flying in his face so he threw it in the garbage. Or a Spider-Man movie where Spidey is allergic to his webs so he just takes the bus to fight crime. Y'see?

The writers probably think they're being clever when they do stuff like this. But all they're really doing is diminishing the iconic imagery of these characters and damaging the character shorthand that serves an important purpose both to storytelling and their visual appeal.

The winking Tortoise was kind of funny though i would have expect this from the Fred Wolf Cartoon but to see it in a real life movie...a little weird, yet not so bad. There are sure worse things as that to complain about.
Personally i will go to see this film to satisfy nostalgia, nothing more. And its refreshing to see the TMNT on the big screen as i havent watched the first movie .

The trailers look good so far for me and i can't wait to see how Shredder acts and how the possible short alliance with Krang goes on between them.

Most of you guys probably wont care for me saying this but I'm not going to come back to this section until after I've seen the movie, too many spoiler clips and stuff. I'm trying to save everything for the cinema

He can't force his so called rightful criticisms onto other people, those are just his own opinions and his alone, he may think its a bad movie, but to others its good.

Seeing a lot of clips from the movies don't really bother me, it just gets me more excited to see the movies.

No, they don't force it on people. They say them, then you and others argue with meaningless insults, they laugh, then you call them bullies.

Because people who are trying to critique things and have an actual discussion are constantly badgered for allegedly trying to "force their opinions"? Sounds about right, actually.

Forums are about community and in-depth discussion. Uncritical thinking, cheerleading and promotion don't generally foster those things. "Look, a thing!" followed by "Cool thing!" on repeat is not a conversation. Trying to brow-beat people into being "positive" or uncritical kills conversations, or at least keeps them shallow and unengaging. And that will kill a forum.

Yep. What they are really trying to do is make little kids laugh. I think this movie will be more entertaining than the last one and will probably have more jokes, however it feels like such a movie done by committee. "Take the beats that worked in the 80s show and other versions and put them in the movie."

Is it the turtles movie I want? No. However, it'll probably make me smile a bit for nostalgia reasons so it's worth a matinee. Thing is, where do they go from here? What could they possibly include in a third movie that will reach the excitement these two movies had/have? The last movie had the turtles which hadn't been seen in live action for 21 years. This movie features every other popular character. So I don't see much excitement for a third installment in this series no matter how good/bad this one is.
