I was extremely disappointed to see that. I was okay with them ...

Spoiler:
'coming out of the shadows' as it were to a handful of people as they have always had human allies, but the whole damn city?! These aren't the Avengers. They are NINJA.

Part of me is hoping that...

Spoiler:
It looked like a dark scene, so perhaps the Turtles were being honored in secret by whoever Laura Linney is, to a special handful of people that will now be supporting them in the NYPD.

...probably too much to hope for, but still.

So many tv spots and footage. I feel like they've released almost the entire movie. Well, I'll know for sure tomorrow

I feel like I can already guess the gist of your review.

"It's not a perfect movie but it sure is a lot of fun and LEAGUES better than the first! Go pay and see it on opening day!"

Is that what I'm going to say? You are now an expert on me? I already promised that I would be 100% honest about the film. But nice effort to attempt to plant cynical seeds against anything positive I might say. Who knows, I might not tell you anything

Are you going to go back to constantly talking about me on here? In the guise of "ignoring me"?

I dearly hope so.

Yes I know this fits the Out of the Shadows theme but this is a definite deal breaker for me.
I hate the concept of the Turtles being well known and not in hiding, there's a reason why the opposite is the norm. The FW cartoon more or less went with it (at least I think it did, it's pretty unclear) and it really didn't work there.

"Hey guys, everyone knows and loves us! Let's continue living in the sewers even though there's literally no reason for us to do so anymore!"

Seconded. That's always good for pages upon pages of entertaining back-and-forth.

Pot kettle black.

I really wish I could be proven wrong on this film, I really do. However, even with a richer though cartoonish color palette, it still doesn't seem promising. Especially after Stockman became a cliche mad scientist giggling; who knows, maybe it'll be surprising or it's going to suck still for different reasons. Either way, to take a page out of the AVGN with the Ghostbusters reboot/remake, I'm not going to see it.

You're a Cinemassacre fan too? Right on! I tend to agree with James on a lot of things. Specifically movies. His review of the 2014 movie, along with the one he did with Nostalgia Critic is pretty much exactly how I felt about that movie.

To go off topic briefly, of course. Not as big a fan of the current AVGN episodes (the Mega Man one was fantastic though), but I do respect the man himself. He's got a ton of passion in his work, cares for his family and fans (the charity event that occurred recently), and is overall fantastic.

Back on topic though, the way I see it, even if I'm wrong it's best not to pay to see the movie or just not see it. Obviously we're all going to complain, but it's an endless cycle if we keep discussing it outside the name being on the brand. Even if I have no intention on watching it despite it's richer look, I can't stand the films. Most of the TMNT films vary in quality; even if I like the 90's movie and 2k7 film, they still feel kind of lacking in terms of filmmaking.

However, I'm not opposed if someone enjoys these films. What I don't like though is harming the name of these characters and turning them into bigger laughingstocks; even if Krang is serious in the film for example, how is that going to make up for the damage done to Casey? Or what about the look of Bebop and Rocksteady appearing as video game characters come to life when the Turtles are slightly believable? I can rant for a long time on Bay destroying 80's franchises, but at the end of the day it'll make money like all his movies and stand strong.

I want TMNT to truly get it's respect on the big screen; with the comics often the source of excellent material and the shows and movies varying in personal tastes, that won't happen now. Until PD is no longer making these films, I don't think we're getting a good TMNT movie for a while.

Splinter is going to be as upset as I am, if this is the case.

No it isn't.

Secret of the Ooze looks like the first movie compared to the bullsh*t they're shoveling out now.
