How low can standards get that we're rewarding studios and filmmakers with money for piss poor attempts at a movie and then patting them on the back for saying "yeah the first one sucked but here's a mediocre second attempt that only kinda sorta fixes SOME problems from the first one!"

Yes, probably not as much as some people would like to see but he pops up in the movie within the first 15 min. Basically, (ok minor spoilers) Krang can't enter earth until this certain device is activated. The problem is, the device is broken up into three pieces that are in different places. Shredder has one piece, the second piece is in a museum, and the third piece is in Brazil. So Shredder's mission is to get all three pieces to open the portal to Dimension X so Krang can enter with the Technodrome.

No. Shredder is Shredder. Krang already has his body but he needs Shredder to open the portal to Dimension X so he can enter Earth and bring in the Technodrome.

Maybe this has been answered but is there any info on whether Brian Tee Shredder is the same Shredder from the last film's story?

Shredder could've done more than blow up the Channel Six building. I don't mean as far as murdering Splinter, but think of the possibilities if censors were not an issue.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

So, basically April and Casey hog up the movie? Of course.

I do have a question, though. Do the action scenes do the annoying **** that the first movie did where they have the Turtles on for 30 seconds, cut back to Casey a/o April for like an hour (obvious exaggeration), and then back to the Turtles?

It is the same producers, writers, and some of the actors, however, it doesn't continue the same themes. When you see this movie, (if you see it) you will definitely notice that it feels VERY different from the last movie. Everything about it is different. I'm not saying good or bad, but different. I credit this to director David Green. It is obvious when you see the movie that he is a turtle fan. Now, yes, they had to make it a sequel so he had to work within those boundaries and couldn't just reboot it. So, some things that we want are still missing. However, when the reviews come in, I believe it will be almost unanimous that this movie is superior to the last. Now, you might still hate it. It might still be trashed by the critics and audiences. But I can honestly tell you that they fixed a lot of the complaints. Definitely not all, but a lot.

Shredder doesn't fight the turtles. I know, I know (Angry comments to follow) However, keep in mind, he didn't fight the turtles in SOTO either. He failed against them in the first movie so he creates mutants to fight them. Same theme here.

They actually don't hog up the movie in my opinion. I think they have about as much screen time as the '90 movie. To answer your other question, no. The turtles are the stars of this movie. Now, granted, they share screen time with other characters, but there aren't long periods of time without the turtles. There are fewer April and Casey alone together scenes in this movie than in the '90 movie.

Well you have me at a disadvantage as it's tough to debate something I've not seen. Thing is the whole idea of them being isolated away from humanity and wanting to be accepted we know was a major theme of the previous movie but was cut out but there's still stuff there present in the movie that it's been clear they are building from.

Same with the whole idea that the tone is significantly different. The previous movie didn't shift tones that well largely due to the fact that it a subject of many re-shoots but it's clear in it's final incarnation it's aiming for a very silly over-the-top tone. I see this as building on that, same slapstick, toilet humor, very similar action set pieces even specific gags we see in the trailers are recycled in this movie.

One thing that is deal breaker (even though I admit it probably shouldn't be) is Casey Jones. I think it comes down to the idea that after all the flack they got with the previous movie of needlessly different origins and tying characters together they take the simplest character to interpret faithfully and pull the same **** again and yes I was kinda hoping that we'd get some actual faithful backstory on the characters even though I generally knew better than to expect it but I don't think someone who is a huge fan would be comfortable not having even a mention of Oroku Saki or Master Yoshi.

I know I wont be alone in thinking they've learned and improved little and honestly I dislike the idea that we'll be getting a third movie with the same people saying "now this one, this one will finally solve all the problems"

Okay, I have a few questions now.

-Does Casey only wear the mask for that one scene in the alleyway?

-If Shredder doesn't fight the Turtles, what exactly does he do during the final battle on the Technodrome?

-Is the plane fight the only fight between the Turtles and B&R?

That's why I'm refusing to pay to see this movie. If they're going to produce crap, I'm not going to give them any of my money.

In this movie, it's a big part of the plot.

To be honest, this movie wasn't nearly as silly as I was expecting from the trailers and tv spots. The action set pieces, (I assume you are referring to the tank coming out of the water and battle with Krang on the technodrome) are executed better. There's not nearly as much of that slo mo stuff that was in the last movie. The final battle with Krang is similar to the Shredder fight but the water scene in Brazil is completely different than the snow chase in the last movie.

Casey's origin in this ties into the plot. Unlike April in the last movie, we don't get a lot of Casey's backstory. We watch the events unfold as the movie develops.

I agree. I'm actually on the side of rebooting this series and taking it back to comic roots. Someone pointed out that I enjoyed the 2014 movie when I first saw it, and that's true. But keep in mind that at the time, I hadn't followed the 2012 series or the IDW comics that much so I just assumed that it was a movie made for that fanbase and accepted their changes and gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Damn it, how's the inside of the technodrome? Is the inside of it very familiar to how it is in the 1980s TMNT cartoon? Do Beebop and Rocksteady hold their own against the turtles very well? Doe's Krang's body expand at any point? What doe's Dimenson-X look like?

During the Parade scene, does it show Mikey high five the cosplayer in the Bumblebee costume?

I remember in the sets footage, it had a dude in a transforming Bumblebee costume, he was rolling around Noel Fisher until, he transformers and they high five each other.
