lets face it, they (as in the Producers) thought Megan was gonna be the big draw the first time around, and when critics slammed it for having too much Megan - they probably started to realize that she isnt the box-office draw ppl think she is. Her strength comes from being a supporting character in most projects she's done.

Stephen Amell on the other hand has a huge Arrow following (of which I used to belong to, until recent seasons), so why not capitalize on his popularity?

What sucks is, while I support this iteration of Turtles, whenever I see either Megan or Stephen, I dont see, April, and Casey...I see Megan, and Stephen. But thats another rant altogether...

I don't think anyone thought that. She only fulfilled the "sexy lady" quotient, a necessary part of the beancounter equation for "films" like these.

That's probably their thinking. Though whether Amell actually translates into box office bucks, that remains to be seen. Their thinking is probably, "Well, he's hot right now on TV and isn't too expensive. *shrug* Let's see what happens."

there is truth in that TRICK, but of the many things I do not like in this iteration (most especially the removal of the Oruku Saki/Hamato Yoshi relationship), I really happen to like the Turtles themselves. I think their personalities are well captured, and the moments when they interact as brothers are really strong. So I'm willing to the take the bad with good - IMO, there has yet to be a 'perfect' translation of the Turtles, even the Steve Barron film, though great (and has aged amazingly well), has flaws.

I would be more supportive of this casting if Stephen Amell wasn't such a one note actor - whats funny to me is that ppl who have already seen the movie have said that the Turtles are definetly the stars, with Megan and Stephen playing secondary roles. That said, what's gonna happen to all those fans that said, Im only seeing it for Stephen Amell - - they are probably gonna be disappointed,

First movie bad to good ratio, according to you, was 90/10.

This movie, according to two reviews that I believe weren't paid for, it's sounding more like 70/30.

Which I'm not sure about because I haven't actually seen it myself.

Which does not matter because we're talking about THESE Turtle movies, that are actually awful.

That people are still supporting/going to support, even though they are awful.
