The main villain in Civil War was very forgettable and random (Putting it kindly)

Also both movies did not stay very true to their source material and were simply shells of the source material. (Civil War arc) and (Dark Knight Returns)

So summary both movies share.
-Bloated StoryLines
-Bad Villians
-Character overload
-Bad adaptation of source material.
Yeah but the Civil War comic storyline sucked.

Spoiler:

- Shredders character was completely different to the first film, he was barely even needed at all as he never really poses a threat to the Turtles, he's just a catalyst to bring Krang into the film

- Stockman's motivations to have Shredder as a someone to work with make no sense. All Stockman really wants is to be seen as a great scientist, I don't get where Shredder really comes into it?

- Casey Jones is horribly shallow, being a police officer that's also a vigilante with a hockey mask (that is only really used once in the film from memory) just seems like the most unnecessary change to the character.

-In the first film the Turtles are amazed they are bullet proof, but in this film they get scared the moment the police pull guns out on them

- The whole excuse for Vern being the savior of the city in the first film was a HORRIBLE decision. At what point can it be conceived that he was the cause for Shredder's downfall? The Turtles fought the Shredder in plain daylight! There was seriously no amateur footage of that or not even someone who was conspiracy theorist claiming that the turtles were real?

I could probably list other issues, but I think that will do for now. Needless to say, this film was just a jumbled mess and I really hope future films are given to a studio that can actually create a decent plot and add some depth to the characters. As it stands, this is just a depressing mess, I would rather do without than this be seen as the basis for future TMNT movies and/or comics.

I thought that was ridiculous too - but if you hate that...then this will enrage you...

Spoiler:
Krang freezes him, and stores him away in the Technodrome, effectively neutralizing him for the movie's finale

Weirdly enough, this makes me almost excited to crack a bottle of something open and hate-watch this with my wife once it hits Netflix. I won't pay for this under any circumstances, but now I want to see how bad it gets.

About the

Spoiler:
Bullet Proof thing. Dave Green/Bay obviously ignored the bullet proof turtles from the last movie just like Eric Sacks was ignored. They obviously knew they were big mistakes and didn't want them in this movie

It's now gone to 29% without an extra review, how does that work?

Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good". Also see: the work of Michael Bay.

The Civil War comic was a decent idea with pretty lousy execution. Better scripting would have helped it a lot, but Mark Millar was doing that really stiff, everyone-talks-the-same kind of routine he was leaning hard on at the time, and the characters as a whole lacked nuance and often acted wildly out of character just to suit the plot. It was exciting when it came out, but it really doesn't hold up well at all.

IMO, the movie is a pretty significant improvement in pretty much every way. The conflict feels a lot more natural, as it's something that's been built up to far more than the comic's was. The plot felt like it was naturally guided by the characters and their long-term development, rather than the severe abruptness and sudden characterization shifts in the comic. And to me, the movie treated its characters like characters, with understandable motivations and a sense of warmth, where in the comic they felt pretty one-note and written from a cold distance. Kind of a Millar trademark, that. It worked better in The Ultimates, where the whole point was that most of the heroes were total jerks. He wrote Civil War in a very similar style, and it just didn't feel right for the MU proper.

Just my take.

Any thing where a character tells Captain America he's dumb and out of touch with people because he doesn't watch NASCAR or American Idol or go on Myspace is bad. Plain bad.

And that wasn't even the MAIN Civil War book. That was a side book.

And poor, poor Speedball.

Also, Spider-Man.

Ok first off 99% of the time something isn't popular bc it is bad or mediocre.

Also I find it really hard to believe you read Dark Knight Returns.

In the movie BvS Superman acted extremely out of character acting like a moody teenage with a bad attitude. Which is nothing like Superman. In Dark Knight Returns he is written like a typical super-man, Boy-Scout, No-rule breaking, Justice for all, etc.... So please don't say Miller wrote Superman or other characters completely out of character especially when being compared to Zack Snyder's superman.

And the conflict build up was actually rather short, in BvS I believe is was 18 months or so?? Starting when Superman destroyed half of Gotham in his fight with Zod...... But in the Dark Knight the conflict build up was YEARS!!!!!!! It started when the government forced all super-heroes except superman into retirement and Green Arrow says screw that and Superman tears his arm off!!! The build up in the comic was I believe 10 or 15 years.

Except when the US Government literally tells him to go wage a war on a foreign country.

He's a Red, White and Blue lapdog in DKR.
