The foreign box office numbers can't be what they appear to be right now, I mean they weren't updated at any point during the weekdays on boxofficemojo.com after last week expired. It doesn't seem right, hopefully I'm right.

The thing I found funny is that, if you remember, Nickelodeon didn't promote the first hardly in the slightest, they more or less avoided it like the plague; it makes a bunch of money.

Nick goes out of their way to promote the second very strongly on the network, on the website...and it makes nothing.

Now I don't know if people at Nick heard word of mouth and heard rumblings that this movie was going to struggle and tried to invest and promote to get some more butts in seats, but needless to say I don't think Paramount are the only studio not happy with the numbers. Because it looks like Nick also wasted a pretty penny promoting and advertising a movie that was doomed to fail.

Yes, International numbers only update once a week, they come up usually Monday afternoon-Tuesday morning at the latest.

But the TMNT never did. Eastman and Laird never drew them with nostrils, and that look continued with all future incarnations.

Those are drawings. These turtles are live action, they need nostrils for realism.

I tweeted Melissa Benois about the TMNT movies, and she replied back that she likes the designs.

no. This is what happens when you snap up the movie rights for a franchise only because of its high brand name recognition while having no interest in its lore or doing its characters any kind of justice.

I think the first 3 movies proved they don't necessarily need them. I don't mind them at all but I wouldn't miss them if they weren't there. Never liked how you could see the human influence in their faces though

Funny how noone ever complained about them not having nostrils in the 90's movies even though you have to admit, at the time they were as realistic as you could get. The movie didn't play it 'these are guys in costumes but let's pretend they're real turtles, wink wink' they played it straight, and nostrils were never a factor.

Pretty sure the next movie franchise can get away with them being realistic sans nostrils and still pull it off.

Also about the advertising, I saw some that quite literally said the movie has Turtles, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady, Krang, Casey Jones and Pizza, what else could you want? I guess they kinda forgot that you also needed a good movie to put them in. But yeah, all the advertising was mostly 'who cares about the actual movie, it's got Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Casey and PIZZA in it!'

If only we could have people AND a studio who actually care about making these films, instead of folks worried about either:

A: Nostalgia Wanking
B: Toys

It's like 'Please, can we have folks who actually Care? Pretty please?"

Some people will go 'Why do folks always bring up Marvel & Marvel Films'...

If you go out into the world of 2016 and say 'I like Captain America', or 'I like Iron Man', or even 'I Like Thor"....people will go 'Cool! So do I or give you

If you go out into the world of 2016 and say 'I like Spider-Man' or 'I like Deadpool' (yeah, I know it was Fox who made it), people will go "Yeah, it's so cool what they did with him in *insert movie aka Deadpool or Civil War*, isn't it?' and perhaps give you

If you go out into the world of 2016 and say 'I like Ninja Turtles'...you will get people going "Why?" or "That kiddie stuff?" or 'that goofy sh*t?' or one of these or while shaking their head at you and thinking to themselves 'what is this guy, 10 years old?'

So yes...I'm sure I am not alone in thinking that it would be nice to not be embarrassed to say 'I'm a Ninja Turtles fan' to the public.

I don't agree that the Turtles having nostrils is a problem (they should, they always should've), but I celebrate CyberCubed's right to bemoan them.

Just because we don't see them, doesn't mean Turtles don't have nostrils. You can bare see real turtles' ears, but they still have them.

UK Box Office report, no big movies out this week because of the football.

This is interesting, TMNT 2 stays 2nd place, Warcraft drops to 4th place and Me Before You moves up to 1st place.

Mutant Turtle noses... These days, I kinda love Leo and Donnie's design in that department. Mikey and Raph still not so much. I'm unsure if Mikey was changed at all. Raph... I'm still "convinced" there's some bulldog genes in there; I'm not sure the "human" thing would have worked out as well as he might have hoped.

As it so happens I've been slowly rewatching 2003 and last night was in the final episodes where poor Donnie isn't feeling so well and mutates.
