the maltese hamster

Did anyone else have this episode in their top 10-20 of all time?

I really enjoyed this one just because it was one that everybody including splinter was captured and dontaello was taken out by a building.

Anyone old in this forums? I didnt understand why april needed the hamster delivered when she could have just walked it back home???

+ the trench coats were DA BOMB! So glad I have the donatello in disguise trench coat! I just wish for some reason they made all 4 turtles for it!

Absolutely agree!! One of the best of all time!! The first to involve gangsters even if Shredder was involved as well, Splinter got involved with someone other than Shredder, the episode involved mostly Donatello and April and there was a sense of real danger since the Butcher and his men were competent compared to Bebop and Rocksteady. Brains triumph over brawn.

She probably didn't have time to do it herself. She said she had to file a story in 20 minutes, one second later, she found the store and the hamster and wanted to buy it.

Or maybe she was afraid someone would steal the hamster from her on her way home.

It was a pretty good episode. I enjoyed watching it as a teen on Teletoon Retro before I purchased the complete TMNT '87 series box set. And for the record, I'm not old. I'm nearly 20, that's not old, right?

We know the reason why April needed the hamster delivered to her house.
The animations' would never miss a good excuse to show a close up April butt shot. That was the only reason.

Personally I've always loved that April is excited about a hamster statue in the window saying, "I've always wanted one!"

Seriously?? Why in gods names have you spent presumably years wanting a hamster statue? Little hamster-themed knickknacks is one thing, if you really like hamsters that much, but no normal person has "always wanted" a statue like that. lol At least the Turtles know this is ridiculous.

funny thing, is that type of statue of a hamster is really not that hard to come by. April could of bought one before she ran into the turtles lol.

Two words: "Men's Underwear"

This is one of my favourites, as Cammy said, Shredder actually employed a group of competent crooks to carry out his plan and they pick off just about every member of the Turtles and even nab Splinter, there was also more of a darker edge to the story with them bringing the building down on Donatello.

This was also when I started 'shipping Irma and Donny just from that one little scene they had when he manages to get to the office.

Good episode. I watched it for the first time in years recently and it holds up well. Donatello's narration was funny and it was great to watch a Don-centric episode.
